Getting to Know Merlin’s Exclusive Artifact

💠Introduction

Hello Friends! One of the biggest decisions players face when building Merlin in Infinity Kingdom is choosing the right Exclusive Artifact (EA) attribute. Since Merlin relies heavily on frequent ultimate casts and magical AoE damage, selecting between Annihilation (Crit-focused) and Deadly (Magic Damage-focused) can significantly affect his performance. I wanted to go more in-depth about what lets Merlin be the most efficient paired alongside his build. This guide explains how Merlin’s EA works, what each attribute provides, and which option is better at different stages of progression.

Summary

💠Role of the EA

Merlin’s Exclusive Artifact, Dragon’s Prophecy, restores 50 Energy and heals him for 2% HP whenever he deals damage. The healing is minor, but the energy gain is extremely important because it allows Merlin to cast his ultimate more often. Since his EA already boosts his ultimate cycle, the main question becomes: Do you want Merlin’s ultimates to hit harder through Crit (Annihilation), or do you want all his magic damage increased consistently (Deadly)?

💠Annihilation

Annihilation increases Merlin’s Crit Damage, giving him the opportunity to land harder critical hits on his ultimate and skill damage.

What it provides: higher Crit Damage, stronger burst damage, better AoE spikes, and this needs to be paired with Crit Rate (which increases the chance of you landing a crit).

When it performs best: early and mid game, when Merlin is your main focus, when you want explosive AoE damage, and when fights end quickly. In all honesty, late game crits become watered down (pun intended).

💠Deadly

Deadly increases Skill (Spell) Damage, boosting all of Merlin’s damage regardless of Crit.

What it provides: consistent damage, no RNG, better performance in long fights, stronger late‑game scaling.

When it performs: late game/Legendary seasons, when Merlin’s Crit Rate is low, when you want stable damage, and when Water teams fall off.

💠Which Is Better?

Early Game (1–25): fights are short and Merlin can reach a decent Crit Rate. Winner: Annihilation.

Mid Game (26–50): Merlin’s EA gives him more ultimates and Crit builds scale well. Winner: Annihilation.

Late Game / Legendary Seasons: Crit becomes harder to optimize, Water weakens, and Magic Damage scaling becomes more reliable. Winner: Deadly.

💠Summary

Choosing the right EA attribute for Merlin depends on your build and progression. Annihilation is best when Merlin has strong Crit investment and you want burst AoE damage. Deadly is best when you want consistent damage or when Merlin’s Crit Rate is too low to justify Annihilation. Both options are usable, but they shine in different stages of the game. Thanks for reading friends and stay smiling!
