💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? Welcome back to my Illusion Battlefield (IB) series, where I take a closer look at different matches. IB is different from the IB League tournament in that you will use your normal teams, skill sets, talents, and decoration skins, so strength is extremely relevant. The mode is also much slower-paced. Relocations and marching speed are slower. The event is one of the most entertaining events in Infinity Kingdom, and players enjoy spectating, almost like a sporting event. In this article, I’m going to take a closer look at the regular season match between Server 136’s Along With The Gods(AWG) and Server 209’s Hungry Kitties(HK).

💠Overview
AWG comes from one of the strongest servers in the game, widely viewed as a top-two server overall. Even with some of their strongest players split into sister alliance SKY, AWG still has enough power and IB-focused players to beat most servers on their own, and they generally field more members than HK. HK, however, has steadily built itself from a smaller server into a top-four or top-five force and just reached the IBL finals for the first time in server history. AWG may have the deeper roster and stronger server base, but HK enters with proven momentum and a historic run behind them.

💠Tower 1
At Tower 1, AWG committed 13 players, including two who attempted to block HK relocations on HK’s side of the tower despite being too far away to realistically win those races. AWG also had one player overlapping two teammates, making their setup inefficient despite the large numbers advantage. HK sent only 6 players, which put them at a major disadvantage from the start. Given their lower overall attendance, HK needed either to send one or two of their strongest players to anchor Tower 1 or fully concede the objective and redistribute those players elsewhere.

💠Tower 4
At Tower 4, AWG sent 6 players while HK committed 10, giving HK the numbers advantage. However, one HK player relocated onto AWG’s side of the area, which was risky because even if the relocation succeeded, he would be isolated from his teammates and likely deleted quickly. HK also left too many front-row spots open, weakening their control around the tower. Since they lacked good edge spawns to block AWG’s relocations, HK needed cleaner positioning and tighter spacing to make their numbers advantage matter.

💠Central Tower
Both teams sent four players to the Central Tower, but HK’s relocations were significantly faster, giving them an opportunity to destroy multiple AWG relocations before they could establish themselves. With equal numbers in the middle, those early relocation races and blocks could have a major impact on which team gains initial control of the area.

💠Altars
ARC didn’t send anyone to the altars. SKY sent one to the Sun Altar.
💠Home Towers
AWG had three guards at their home tower while HK only had one at theirs.
💠Play-by-Play
AWG and HK each blocked one relocation at the Central Tower, but AWG quickly gained the upper hand. HK’s forward invader was isolated and nearly deleted immediately, while AWG answered by wiping all four HK members in the area and destroying another incoming relocation. HK then sent two more players back to the tower despite having no real chance to contest it, wasting more time and manpower. With the area cleared, AWG captured the Central Tower at the 9-minute mark.

At Tower 4, AWG destroyed one relocation while HK canceled one of their own despite reaching their position first. AWG picked up the first kill a few minutes later, then one AWG player blocked a relocation deep in the middle of HK’s formation but failed to cancel afterward, effectively leaving himself stranded. Even so, HK could not capitalize or stop the siege. AWG captured the tower 9 minutes into the match and then began clearing the area, deleting HK players one by one until they fully controlled the objective.

In the center, HK executed an excellent early sequence by destroying one relocation, zeroing an enemy, destroying another relocation, and eliminating the remaining defender while also blocking incoming reinforcements—all within the first 8 minutes. Their control of the area was complete, allowing them to secure the surrounding space uncontested afterward. HK captured the Central Tower at the 13-minute mark and established firm control of the middle.

At the 12-minute mark, HK began sending marches from the center into AWG’s home tower. Despite having two guards positioned next to the objective, AWG failed to clear the troops from the tower in time. As the capture bar dropped to roughly a quarter remaining, two HK members teleported in to secure the steal. HK successfully captured AWG’s home tower, giving them control of three towers and a major swing in momentum.

At the same time, AWG gradually surrounded the outskirts of the Central Tower and began pressing in from the left side. Their pressure forced HK to collapse toward the right side of the tower, where they became boxed in and attacked from multiple angles. After a long 15-minute fight in the center, AWG finally cleared HK from the area and captured the Central Tower at the 34-minute mark. They also recaptured their home tower, stabilizing the map. HK attempted to pressure Towers 1 and 4 afterward with no success and eventually retook Tower 3, but by then the swing came too late to change the outcome.

💠Summary
AWG defeated HK 100,000 to 58,500. HK’s opening strategy was flawed from the start, as they committed neither enough numbers nor enough power to Tower 1, leading to a quick loss there. Despite investing significantly more players into Tower 4, they still failed to secure the objective. Their strongest moments came from the Central Tower team and the clever play to temporarily steal AWG’s home tower, which kept them competitive for a while. However, once AWG consolidated their strongest players into the center, HK had no realistic way to hold the objective. At that point, HK needed to pressure the side towers more aggressively instead of continuing to fight head-on in the middle. The match ultimately reinforced just how strong AWG is as a complete IB team.
