💠Introduction

What’s up, folks? Welcome to this month’s edition of Winners and Losers for Patch 2.9.5. Patch 2.9.5 will be released on Thursday, May 14. The patch has few changes with a couple of new immortal systems and a few quality-of-life updates. In this article, we’ll discuss the most important updates, who will benefit, and who will suffer from the changes.

💠Table of Contents

  • Affinity and Insignia
  • Battle of Asteria
  • Optimizations
  • Summary

💠Affinity and Insignia

The update adds Immortal Affinity and the Insignia System as new progression features. With Immortal Affinity, players can send gifts to specific Immortals to raise affinity levels, unlock rewards, access additional story content, and earn rare insignias at level 30. Insignias can be obtained through gameplay and events such as Immortal Affinity, Appearance Collection, and Festival Events, then collected and activated for rewards and attribute bonuses that can apply to all Immortals. Players can also equip and display insignias on their Lord Information interface and Lord’s Card to show off their progress and uniqueness. As with all new immortal progression features, the ones who will benefit most will be those who have finished all they can already upgrade, such as Mythic equipment, immortal upgrades, and immortal specializations. Regardless, more things to do in the game are almost always better for players.

Winners: Everyone

Losers: N/A

💠Battle of Asteria

Battle of Asteria is a periodic server-wide challenge event that appears on the world map and can be completed solo or with alliance members, with difficulty scaling by season. The event includes both Individual Challenges and Alliance Challenges, with Alliance Challenges unlocking after enough players complete the individual portion. Individual Challenges offer Single Squad, Multi-Squad, and Rally Challenge modes, allowing players to choose the best format for each fight. Rewards include event currency and other items, with currency usable in the event shop for Resource Selection Chests, Immortal Affinity items, and more. Battle of Asteria used to be an alliance event where players can obtain artifact shards and crafting materials. Bringing this event back with new rewards should be fantastic for players looking for more casual events between KvK seasons.

Winners: Everyone

Losers: N/A

💠Optimizations

Alliance Statistics mails will include 24 and 48-hour options to the current 30-minute, 1-hour, 6-hour, and 12-hour options. As someone who uses a lot of statistics mails for IB, IBL, and other event voting needs, I believe these inclusions are long overdue. 12-hours isn’t even enough to include the timezones on the other half of the world that you are playing from.

Winners: Alliance leaders

Losers: N/A

The preparation time for Conquest and Legendary seasons is reduced, which means there is a shorter downtime in between seasons and quicker turnover. This is a win for everyone as most players play for this event.

Winners: Everyone

Losers: N/A

💠Summary

Patch 2.7.5 adds Affinity, Insignias, and Battle of Asteria, giving players more progression and rewards. Alliance leaders benefit from better statistics mail options. Shorter Conquest and Legendary prep times reduce downtime between seasons.
