SoW QGD vs DxD

Hello everyone, I hope you have all been quite good, your host here Igris Red as usual ! Today we are back in the cold lands of the north. The Greyjoys have come back again and the fight is on, Siege of Winterfell’s first match is here !! Facing off : Queensguard (QGD) against DenOfDragons (DxD). First match, new rules, everyone wants to start great get the most out of the anniversary special, rightfully so. Stakes are great in this season of super league SoW. As you may have noticed, there are no gold in WF this season, only chests appearing around the map. Lots do appear in the center of the map, where WF usually is but the castle isn’t here and other chests appear in the corners of the map. They give much less points then gold used to give but getting all of them still makes up for an interesting amount that if you add to dragons is definitely worth it. 

It’s 32 members for QGD and 15 for DxD when the count reaches 0 and we’re on for this new season !! 

Everyone races but DxD gets to the middle of the map faster and gets its hands on both Armory and Hot Spring. QGD isn’t letting it slide though as fighting breaks out rapidly at the latter. Both Stark outposts are taken by QGD, both Stark strongholds too and even Greyjoy stronghold 2. For DxD, as said they have Armory and HS but they also have control of Greyjoy stronghold 1 and both Greyjoy outposts. 

The dragons are about to appear and DxD have already sent troops in the name of Annoying Jr and Tedious Jr (I swear I’m not making those names up) fighting PavlB who was already waiting for the Winter Ice dragon. Sadly for QGD, there were more DxD troops and the dragon went towards their camp though it has to cross the entire map. When the dragon arrived at Greyjoy stronghold 1, GeMa of DxD started fighting for the stronghold and also added their troops to the escort’s count, making it even more difficult for QGD as they were already struggling with the dragon, now they are also struggling with the buildings. On the other hand, DxD were able to successfully escort the flaming sun dragon to their base and get the points but while that is happening the efforts of Igris Red2 and PavlB pay off as the Winter Ice dragon turns around and starts going to QGD’s base now !!!

It continued towards the base, it had almost reached the archer towers before it turned around again, Tedious Jr and Annoying Jr never gave up on it and were able to claim the dragon again ! As it arrived near the Greyjoy stronghold 1, Annoying Jr took the opportunity to attack Anglo1 and free the stronghold for GeMa who was standing there waiting for their chance to take over the building. Xyrox arrived to help but PavlB was already beaten and DxD reinforcements arrived as well, the stronghold was completely out of reach for now. 

The Winter Ice dragon finally arrived at the DxD base after a long fight for its escort which was won thanks to the unwavering efforts and the constant reinforcements of DxD players. 

QGD players who had left the Winter Ice dragon escort realizing the impossibility of the task then headed for the chests spread across the map, if they can’t get the dragons, they’ll at least try and get the chests for points. 

The Winter Ice dragon appeared again and gray bear was the first on the scene, he started to fill up the bar and almost had the dragon moving but then BrancoDragao arrived with one more troop and was able to takeeeee ohhh no !! He didn’t, one of his armies was standing around the dragon area but not in !!! Oh what a mistake ! The dragon started moving towards QGD’s base and PavlB as well as Xyrox arrived to escort it alongside gray bear. OH MY WORD ! I can’t believe what is happening, too focused on what the dragon dropped, the QGD troops stopped escorting the dragon which has now come to a stop and even worse, turned back around ! And once that was done, there is no getting that dragon back, it arrived easily to DxD’s base and earned them even more points. 

As that was happening, a small fight broke out at Stark stronghold 2 between WaffelWombat supported by Igris Red and Cuetzaloatl. They were able to beat the lone army and get back the building for QGD. It’s important points as they have been unable to get a dragon to their base still. At Stark outpost 1, ShmooVe and Zadrada fought against GeMa to claim the building back again. 

Finally, because of all the hit and run operations led by QGD, DxD focused on the Flaming sun dragon allowing QGD to escort for the first time the Winter Ice dragon to their base, a great achievement for the new season. 

And with this comes the end of today’s Siege of Winterfell’s match (without Winterfell lol, had to say something about this). It’s a win for DxD who was able to score over 80 thousand points, getting the full rewards while QGD was able to get 44 thousand points. If we consider the number advantage it’s a disaster for QGD but we also have to consider the difference in strength and the new rules coming into effect with today’s game. QGD took some time to get used to it which allowed DxD to enjoy lots of points from the first dragons but eventually QGD caught up and were able to get their first ever dragon to their base. As for buildings, the focus was never mainly on them but regardless it was a pretty even fight with fluctuations here and there but it was mostly a 50/50. Great win for DxD who showed impeccable teamwork
