Alone in the Darkness - Arena of Honor Season 5 Round 4

With the winter almost over in Westeros, the snow started melting and there's green patches popping up, it's time for the warriors in Westeros to embark into another round of Arena of Honor, the 4th one of the Season. After a 3rd and a 2nd place in the first 2 rounds and a win in the 3rd round along his team, the dark clouds are approaching for [N0X]Shado as a raven brought him quite some bad news, his team will be unable to play on the 4th round so he had a tough choice to make, skip the round or go back to the mercenary camp. After weighting in his options, he decided to play in the round in solo queue and Sunday at noon he took his troops, commanders and dragons and headed towards the mercenary camp. Once he arrived there, he signed the registration papers and then waited together with his commanders for the matchmaking to be concluded by the Old Gods.

With the matchmaking now done, it was time for the House representatives to get out of the battlefield and pick the warriors to fight for them in this round. Shado was chosen by Cersei Lannister to fight for her house and together with him Cersei also choose [N0X]ANAXIMADROS, [FvG]Crashjaeger, [KUM]NakamuraAMCO, [RRH]Steleor, [LEG]Sashok086, [WWW]j0y, [Tw1]FireFox168 and [tSB]ZochaPL.

Seeing a familiar face in his team was surely nice for Shado and once the other houses picked their teams, it was time for everyone to step inside the battlefield and head towards their clan castles with Shado's team heading towards the south-west forests where the House Lannister's clan castle was located. Once they arrived there Shado decided to send a few spies across battlefield to see what the other houses are up to.

Unfortunately for Shado and his team, the news was very bad, both House Targaryen and House Stark had premade teams fighting for them led by very strong warriors like Takisobie, ollol2, Gabzs69 and AbelAE. Despite that, being in a desperate need of a win, Shado was determined to do everything in his power to win this and hopefully the other team members will do the same. The fight started quickly after with the opening of the first 7 strongholds and everyone quickly headed towards them to occupy and reinforce them.

Shado as the chosen team commander for this fight, decided to go with military camps in hopes that they'll be able to occupy at least one more clan castle and the plan worked as within the first few NPC attacks, the Lannister's managed to secure the Baratheon's clan castle.

With 2 clan castles under their command, it was time for the team to focus on quickly building the 24 strongholds as altars were about to open and judging by the enemies, they'll need every single troop if they wanted to occupy any altars. Once the first sets of altars opened, he expected a slow start and maybe getting a few altars easy, but he couldn't had been more wrong as all the teams were thirsty for blood and points, so the battle was heated up from the begin.

Shado and his team-mates were managing to obtain wins here and there and even secure a few altars, but they quickly noticed that the Starks team was formed mostly from cavalry, so doom was coming for Shado's infantry. Despite being at a disadvantage, the team kept fighting for every altar on the battlefield and as the middle of fight was approaching, they were managing to keep up in the points with the other 2 teams.

While they were giving the best they could in the fight for altars, the things were about to get even harder for them, as the main building of the battlefield and their only chance at winning this round, the City of Glory was about to drop the protective bubble and open for attacks.

Once the city opened, the strongest players on the battlefield took turns on hitting each other's out, the solos were so numerous and they were deployed so quickly that it took a few minutes for any of the houses to stabilize the defense of the city, in this case the House Stark was the one that took the lead. But of course, the Targaryen's and Lannister's wouldn't just let that slide, and they quickly made a formal alliance to attack the Starks together, so 2 rallies from each side were set and withing minutes they were already at the City of Glory gates ready to challenge the defenders. Forces like never seen before started clashing, tens of millions of troops on each side, the attackers were also being helped by the catapults and despite the Starks having the raw strength, they're reinforcements couldn't withstand the countless rallies being thrown at them and had to withdraw from the city, for now at least. They quickly organized their offensive and it didn't take long for them to get back into the city and the back and forward battle continued between the 3 houses with no definitive winner to be seen in sight.

After tens of minutes of endless fighting, raw strength won once again against numbers and the House Stark managed to secure the City of Glory and as it wasn't enough time for the other 2 houses to take 'it from them, that basically meant the end of the round.

Shado and his team gave everything they had and ended on the 3rd place, they were se close of getting 2nd despite fighting against 2 premade teams. Shado only managed to get 10 fame points and unless he manages to change something he's already seeing the Glory King rank waving farewell to him. Will he be able to join a team again and get some wins or he'll struggle in the solo queue for the rest of the season? We'll have to wait and see. See you all on the battlefield!
