Glorious Battle follow-up and end.

Hello everyone and welcome back to the end of this season of Glorious Battle ! Your host, Igris Red, as always, I hope you’re having a great day and even better night. If you remember well, we had left you with 2 days left in Glorious Battle and everything was still to do, all had taken their place in the center and the Glorious City was the main focus of each faction and we have now come with the result of this stand off between the three factions. A quick reminder of the status at the start of our story : Tempest faction has two merchant cities and the glory gate that leads to them. Shadow faction controls one merchant city and one military city while the Longreach faction controls the other 2 military cities.  

Unsurprisingly, the first thing they did was declare war on each other. Longreach was the first to suffer from it as it was attacked at both military cities by Shadow and Tempest faction at the same time. Though Longreach deployed many more troops than the Shadow faction, the overwhelming power of Raf Rafalski helped the latter to win over the city and take a clear advantage in the race towards the Glorious city. Longreach’s strongest warrior UPUAT may have been defeated this time but 2 hours after he made sure to take his revenge on the Tempest faction as they led their attack on the other military city. Though Dearon B made efforts and the Tempest had 3 times more elimination than Longreach, their attack was still unsuccessful, Longreach were able to fill the gap with more than twice the troops deployed. 

Night fell on the battlefield and when the morning came, Shadow faction had taken the lest military city around the Glorious city and right after they easily took the Heart of the battlefield, asserting dominance over the region. But the battle was not finished. They had declared war on other cities and other factions also tried to fight back. Shadow faction now controlled the entire central region, using their momentum to attack and conquer the military cities in the center and the Glory gate near Tempest faction.

But as they took control of the center, Longreach and Tempest tried to gain back some territories outside of the center, thinking perhaps Shadow’s attention lied elsewhere. Hence the fights started. Longreach launched an attack on Shadow gate 2 and Shadow faction launched an offensive of their own on Longreach’s fortress 6. 

While Longreach was losing 100 to 0 on their attack, they were also getting dominated in their own fortress and because of this, they had to focus solely on defending it. The offensive move they had used just turned into a purely defensive one as Shadow faction completely reversed the tides. But as some could think the fortress was about to fall, a hero came out of the darkness to save Longreach from Lionheart who was getting kill after kill without being stopped. He had 14 kills in a row before being stopped than came back and had 10 more. UPUAT stopped him. He stopped all Shadow troops, until he got defeated but sent them back again and won the fortress back to Longreach. On the other hand, the reason while Longreach couldn’t get anything to work against Shadow gate 2 was because of Raf Rafalski who was stopping anyone and everyone from dealing any sort of damage. 

Shadow faction then went ahead and attacked the Lordsbane gate of Tempest faction. They had just finished their joined attack and defense against Longreach and so not many had troops left to attack Tempest’s city. As such, Tempest was able to defend really well without ever being put in a bad spot, precisely BABOO who had great streaks defeating Shadow troops. 

As this final battle ended with Tempest’s win, the Starlight Battlefield closed down and let everyone enjoy the fruits of their efforts. Shadow faction had finished the event first with the most influence as they had all cities in the center including the Glorious city. Their players sharkmar and Raf Rafalski had the most contributions and the most eliminations. They worked perfectly together as a defense and offense pair. Longreach placed number 2 without any surprises and their best player was UPUAT as expected. For Tempest, their best player was BABOOO and they finished third. After all, they only had 7 cities left by the end of the battle, much less than the two other factions. Above all, Shadow faction prevailed thanks to their very strong defense, their strong players and most importantly by being very active and making moments matter. Longreach had power but ultimately wasn’t able to make it count when it mattered most as they repeatedly lost to Shadow faction, except for once, and they weren’t able to turn the tides of the war after they lost their first military city. As for Tempest, they lacked quite a bit to actually be a threat. They did not have overwhelming power nor the most active players, explaining quite well their position as last place in this season of Glorious Battle. 

Congratulations to the champions : the Glorious Shadow faction !! They shall be rewarded quite well for this victory and perhaps they will remember it well. As for me, I shall see you next time.
