Another weekend of Champion City Siege was approaching and HotepRa was more than prepared. With Glorious Battle coming up soon, he had already started building troops for that, so he was quite fat going into the event. Unlike usual, he would try just to burn his non-cavs, since cavs were what he would mainly need for GB.
He had scouted in advance and had found a lot of different groups, but since they had been working together in GB, he decided to join the WxD leads that went into the AfV shell.
What he did not know when he joined was that AfV would be the first one taking the Lordsbane Fort, requiring a lot more losses than he had originally planned for. His decision had been suboptimal in hindsight, especially since the two bigger rally leads from AfV were cavalry, the one troop type he did not really want to waste.

Still, Hotep joined with his usual full t3 march, just so he could make sure to get at least some tokens. The Fort was quickly attacked by the many other factions on the map and while there were a lot of losses, the first report Hotep got from a rally was actually a win.

STRAW BERRY was running a very strong cav lineup and although it was not fully maxed out advisor and stat-wise, it was strong enough to just wipe DJMangalor, who had a setup not too different from Hotep's own.
After that first good tank, most reports Hotep got were not as good, though. There were some strong spear leads from Nbe on the map, just annihilating STRAW BERRY’s and with that also Hotep’s troops.
After these defeats, Hotep reduced his marches to only send t1, he wanted to keep his troops for GB, not lose them all for this defense.
STRAW BERRY had issues holding, especially since their team was not that big, and so the building could not be fully filled. Hoteps team lost the building multiple times, but for the first 15 min, Strawberry always found a way to get back in with quick solos, until, after 15 minutes, Crimson from BoB got in and was filled fast enough.

AfV quickly opened rallies and Hotep was happy with these new circumstances. Rallying someone else was much cheaper and got more tokens.

Crimson was the weakest of the 4 spear leads BoB had and that was showing, since even good cav accounts could beat him even with Baelish in his lineup. At some point, the counter is also just a number and with Crimon missing Grey Worm, the difference between accounts was too big.
With their second set of rallies, AfV got the castle back, though and so STRAW BERRY was back at holding. Since Hotep at this point also had burned through his cav t1s, he was not too happy.
Hotep started to get bored now, so when STRAW BERRY lost the building once again and an inf account, Dragonflyer went in and was reinforced by 2 million troops. Hotep tried a solo with full t3, just out of curiosity, and well… That did not go very well.

Since Dragonflyer was much, much stronger than Hotep, that was to be expected, but he would have at least liked to see a bit more detail on his loss.
When AfV then switched the next cav account in, Hotep had enough. He had built non-cav for this event since he wanted to keep his cavs and all he got was cav on defense and offense. He had already gotten his minimum points, but he wanted to kill the rest as well, so he gambled that BoB would, surely, accept him and applied.

And they did! It did not even take 15 seconds. And just like that, the sides had changed and now it was Hotep that saved Skyline from getting soloed out by Sylica seconds after he had joined them.

They would lose the building soon later, but finally Hotep got to see the reports of the people that had kicked him earlier.

The building kept changing hands since neither side could hold it against all the rallies, and so Hotep would be on defense when he saw a crazy full t1 solo from TSUI that actually dealt significant damage.

After Hotep had burned all the droops he did not want to save, he shifted his focus to get one last thing done before the CCS ended. He wanted to get the building at least once. And while it took a few tries, eventually he was able to snipe it while it was still empty.

It was just for 10 seconds, but it was all Hotep had wanted. After that, he could end the CCS. And just a few hours later he would be back training troops since his LOL Phase 3 had started.

It had been a good CCS, especially after he had left AfV to join the team that was more fitting to his troop type. He felt a little bad to have left AfV behind mid-match, but he was out of cav, so what could he do? Sometimes you had to be pragmatic, and it had paid off for him both in fun and elims.
With his token income saved for another 2 weeks, Hopte could be happy, now already in his GB prep. He still did not have enough tokens for a full red badge set. Maybe he could make it in that GB…
