A Young Lord of the Ancient Kingdoms Part 98 (A Great Battle of Kingdoms)

In the far west, where peace and tranquility usually reign, the sky shifted. As the last rays of daylight faded, a great rain began to fall upon a kingdom where all its inhabitants were already resting in their homes…
In that same kingdom, on that rainy night, high atop the main castle, a light shone. It was our Lord, who still hadn't rested. He was reading the affairs of the kingdom, the news, and the great events that were approaching.
A piece of news completely astonished our Lord, so much so that not even a nearby lightning bolt could change his mind. He had read something interesting in the news.
“The Great War of Kingdoms is approaching. With the blessing of the seven, the troops lost on the battlefield will be revived the next day.”
Our Lord was amazed. He had witnessed the grace of the Seven before in battles, leading him to believe in the revival of troops, and it had been a long time since he had fought continuously in a Kingdom War (KvK).
But what worried him most was that these Kingdom Wars were usually very active because troops revived the next day. There would be many battles across the battlefield, and the enemies were powerful.
The next day, at the first light of dawn, our Lord would arm his troops and his castle for battle. He knew he would have to fight not only for the point rewards of this event but also to try to win the battle against the opposing kingdom…

As he assembled his troops, he saw that the battle had already begun. He had activated the truce to prevent attacks on his castle for the time being, and then he saw that the opposing kingdom was K354. He had never heard of that kingdom before.
But what he did notice last, while analyzing the battlefield, were signs of some Lords from the great FFS alliance, one of the best in all of Westeros.

Our Lord would be aware of the situation, and he would also see his friend QUEEN on the battlefield, who was also on the lookout for any indication that an attack could be launched. Our Lord would warn him if any enemies from the great FFS alliance appeared.
This would lead QUEEN to fight with extreme caution, so he would simply wait, while his friend DarkSama, seeing the potential danger instead of putting up a poor fight and thinking that he would give points to the enemy, would focus on collecting resources with the truce active, in order to reach the required score or to obtain some rewards in the war of kingdoms.

Our Lord checked the battle scoreboard and saw that they were losing by a significant margin, yet the elimination score remained unchanged. This meant that the castles belonging to the FFS alliance were reinforced and gaining points.
In these situations, it's crucial to know their location and whether they sent Lords or not to capture the castles. Therefore, our Lord sent scouts to spy. They spotted a march from one of the castles and followed it, discovering the enemy's encampment. It wasn't just one castle they had taken; they had captured three, including King's Landing.

According to the battle map and reconnaissance reports, the enemy had three heavily fortified castles, each with its own lord. Launching an attack to annihilate their troops and track their points was extremely difficult.
Therefore, thanks to reconnaissance and tracking their marches, the enemy's position was eventually discovered.

There were a great many enemies, among them one called "Night Bunny," a powerful lancer, but he seemed to be resting, his appearance and presence seemingly inspiring fear and protecting his allies, even though he was also defending a castle.
There were also two infantry enemies, a pair named Mighty and Aelin, very strong in the infantry lineup, and another named LightbringeR, a lancer who was also defending a castle.

The situation was very worrying, but without Lords in their castles, they were undefended and vulnerable to attack. However, their troops were so numerous that our Lord would lose and be trapped if he did.
They weren't strong enough to escape with few casualties on the battlefield.
"If I attack, I might lose. I don't know if I should attack the infantry," our Lord thought anxiously.
After thinking and thinking for hours, and seeing the enemy's score rise enormously, impatience consumed him. He decided it was better to lose the troops that might revive than to remain idle.

So I launched the first attack, relying on luck and blind faith, and surprisingly, our Lord won, though with heavy losses against a defense of cavalry and lancers, but without the Lord himself.
Our Lord quickly retreated, anticipating a possible lancer attack, and assessed the losses on the battlefield. He was utterly astonished that he had survived such an onslaught.
Seeing that he had annihilated a large part of his cavalry in the front line, the lancers were still there, which made him doubt himself, but even so…

He would gather his courage and launch another attack, though this time it would be different from the first. He had anticipated this, simply hoping it would turn out better.
The spearmen in the front line would put up fierce resistance against our Lord's cavalry, so this time he would lose roughly the same number of troops, but the enemy suffered fewer casualties.
Our Lord would withdraw, not wanting to risk further attacks, and would be surveying the other castles.

He would then attack and encounter several enemy troops. By reducing the enemy's point production, our Lord would do his best to fight and gain points, but the difference was already overwhelming.
"Is it really that I can't do anything but watch?" our Lord thought, disheartened.
Until the very end, the kingdom K354 would ultimately win the war of kingdoms by a landslide due to its superior castle population, as their castle generation rate was very high.

As a result;
Our Lord watched in disappointment as his kingdom lost the battle. There were no other allies fighting alongside him, except for those from the kingdom's alliance who were merely gathering resources.
The enemy ultimately secured the victory. The difference on the battlefield was clear: castle positions grant a large number of points compared to resource gathering. Lately, our Lord has even considered leaving the kingdom.
As a recommendation;
Don't take too many risks in KvK. It's enough to get the required points, although if you're looking for combat pieces, it's best to fight to obtain them.
It's wise to carefully analyze an enemy before launching an attack. Even if they don't have the Lord in the castle, the number of troops with dragons and the commanders defending can still pose a significant threat.
That's all for this week!
Until next time!
