Welcome Lords and Ladies to the opening round of Arena of Honor Season 5, this season will be bigger and better than ever! Tonight, the Lone Wolf Moshow2 makes his debut this season, he has once again returned into the arena to show his fans and himself what he is all about! Will the Lone Wolf show why he is a crowd favorite or will the start to this season mirror his disappointing beginning in season 4!

Moshow2 had a strategy when dealing with newly formed teams, “Trading Posts are the best option for us, especially if we see multiple teams building offensive strongholds,” Moshow2 found this tactic was easier for less cohesive teams to pull off but it often leaves an opening for a team to take every Watch Tower without contest. Moshow2 noticed his team didn’t really push back against his plan, the nerves of the opening match getting to the rest of his team. “There is a problem to this strategy as it leaves our clan castle vulnerable if we don’t have a strong member inside it,” Moshow2 knew of the perils of losing a clan castle deep into a match and having to shift focus at important junctions of the match.

Lady Silky quickly stepped in as the second voice of the team, “don’t worry about the clan castle, ill keep an eye on it, if its ever in danger I will quickly step in and take it,” Lady Silky quelled the nerves of Moshow2 but she really wanted to build offensive strongholds but held her tongue for the team.

As for the Arena of Honor, it starts with six teams who fight for objectives on the map, each objective provides a first capture amount and then points over time, the team with the most points at the end of the match wins. “Dragonpits will be crucial if we want to take the Glory City, we don’t have a strong rally leader but if the other teams don’t have a strong spearmen warrior we can make do,” Moshow2 could see the lack of a rally leader was going to hinder them but the Lone Wolf makes no excuses.

Finally, the teams entered the arena and has a mixed reaction, “we have balanced teams, it can go either way but House Lannister does have a strong spearmen warrior that may come back to bite us,” Lady Silky knew the start of the match would be crucial to see how House Lannister positioned themselves. As the strongholds opened the strategies of each team became apparent, “House Stark is making infantry strongholds, every other team is making Trading Posts or a mixed of the two,” Moshow2 had a decision to make but he went with his initial plan and ordered the building of Trading Posts, a decision he may come to regret.

House Stark was led by the impressive DARKANGELL, “we are the only team building full infantry strongholds, the Watch Towers should be ours, all we have to do is focus on taking Altars of the Warrior and our strongholds should do the rest,” DARKANGELL couldn’t believe his luck, the rest of the teams just gave up on the Watch Towers and Catapults without a fight.

Finally, we have the danger team House Lannister led by the Powerhouse Void Eclipse, “build what you like, our main goal is the Glory City, that’s the objective that will give us the win,” Void Eclipse was taking a gamble by not caring about his strongholds but if House Lannister could capture the Glory City all of that would be forgiven.

As the first fifteen minutes went by it was House Stark that took the first Watch Tower and the lead, “the altar fights are important, we need to keep our Altars of the Warrior to maintain our lead,” DARKANGELL could sense victory, the Dragonpits could be taken for free if his strongholds became strong enough. “The first altar of the top three was taken with ease but the bottom three teams are losing their altars easily, we should also take advantage of their weakness,” Moshow2 saw House Baratheon, House Greyjoy and House Tyrell as free points but two of these Houses were on the other side of the battlefield to them, the march time was becoming a problem. Lords and Ladies, we have six teams all vying for your support, let them hear you roar. Stay tuned for the first round of Arena of Honor!

House Targaryen quickly focused their efforts on House Stark, “House Stark are 4k points ahead of us and House Lannister is losing ground with their unexpected stronghold choice, we need to slow down House Stark and take their altars,” Moshow2 led the way and started to focus on Altars of the Warrior but House Stark’s lead kept growing as more Watch Towers were taken. On the other side of the battlefield, we had House Greyjoy and House Baratheon in 4th and 5th place respectively, they were still squabbling over each other’s altars but they were losing ground to House Lannister in 3rd place. “Make sure we get our Altars of the Warrior back, they are crucial to the next phase, the Dragonpits open soon and our strongholds will take them easily,” DARKANGELL had thought out his plan and his first phase went well but will the rest of the match be so easy?

The Dragonpit fights were uneventful apart from some solo hits, House Targaryen were able to capture two of them while House Lannister took the other. The real test came when the Glory City became available and it was House Lannister who quickly took the objective with their infantry bannerman, “I have taken the Glory City, reinforce me when required, House Targaryen and House Stark have rallies being prepared,” Light Skies was confident he could keep the objective for the rest of the match but even if he would fail, they had the might of Void Eclipse waiting in the background. The first rally from House Stark crashed into the walls of the Glory City but it was House Targaryen who would succeed and dispatch Light Skies and his infantry. “We know what’s coming, the spearmen are getting ready, I don’t think we can hold but let’s try anyway,” Moshow2 couldn’t stop what was about to happen, he just hoped he could do enough damage for other rallies to finish the job. In the end Moshow2’s fears became a reality and Void Eclipse took the Glory City with ease and the follow-up rally from House Targaryen was no match. The gap between House Stark and the rest was closing but they still held the lead even after House Lannister captured the Glory City.

As the battle for the Glory City ended the Mineshafts opened and now each team knew the winner would be decided here, “our Trading Posts have cut House Starks lead but House Lannister will eventually over take us, we need most of the Mineshafts to make the difference,” Lady Silky knew it was a long shot but after all this would they just finish in 3rd place? It was a race against time with only a few thousand points separately all three teams with House Stark in the lead and House Targaryen about to lose 2nd place to House Lannister, this match is a toss-up. “We are losing ground heavily, our lead used to be over 10k now it’s only 5k, we have to stop House Targaryen to taking any Mineshafts, I think at this rate House Lannister will take the lead but let’s not lose to House Targaryen as well,” DARKANGELL could see where things were heading, his team had no right to be in first place with the power difference but he had masterminded his team an opening and he didn’t want that effort to go to waste. Will the underdogs of House Stark be able to defend their lead or has the fall of the Glory City shattered their dreams?

Meanwhile House Greyjoy continued to enjoy a 1k lead over House Baratheon and it was growing with House Tyrell throwing in the towel long ago. In the end House Targaryen did close the gap to House Stark but they had fallen to 3rd place with House Lannister now taking the lead in the dying minutes of the match.

It now became apparent that House Lannister would win the match, their lead has ballooned to an impressive 10k but House Stark and House Targaryen had only a few hundred points separating the two, it would now come to whether House Targaryen could keep all their Altars of the Maiden and over take the underdogs of House Stark. “Make sure we take House Targaryen’s altars, they were a pain this entire match,” Void Eclipse was showing no mercy, even though his team had secured the win, he wanted to make House Targaryen suffer. House Targaryen had quickly lost two Altars of the Maiden to House Lannister, every tick of points mattered now, they were only 700 points difference between the two teams, “we have to take altars from House Stark, now or never, it’s going to be close,” Lady Silky had her hands at her heart praying to the Old Gods for some extra points but they would listen no more as House Stark would deliver the final blow and take one of House Targaryen Altars of the Maiden and secure their second place finish, “I told you we could do it, they were busy with House Lannister, they didn’t see us coming,” DARKANGELL could see the points gap at 500 and there it would remain for the rest of the match.

As the final minute ticked away House Targaryen couldn’t believe what just happened, “we were in 2nd place for most of the match and then House Lannister just ruined our plans,” the Lone Wolf was shocked, he couldn’t accept a 500 points difference but our crowd favorite would have to learn that giving up Watch Towers can lose you the match. “House Lannister countered our cavalry-based team today, they were the better team and great job from House Stark for taking advantage of our mistakes,” Lady Silky was humble in her words but in her eyes, this was only the first of many matches in the season, she has only just begun her journey.

On the other hand, House Lannister were jubilant, they had come back from 3rd place to win in the end, “the plan went flawlessly, the Glory City was our goal and we got it, that’s all that matters,” Void Eclipse may have a narrow view of Arena of Honor but he had delivered on his promise.

Lords and Ladies, you won’t get this kind of entertainment anywhere else, don’t forget to tell one and all and join us again for the next round of Arena of Honor!
