WxD vs HD! | Ultimate Conquest | Round 5 |

The Ultimate Conquest season continued unabated.

Match after match, the alliances aspiring to reach the final stage of the competition clashed in no-holds-barred battles to the death. In the fourth round of the competition, FDH bid farewell to the competition after a defeat at the hands of NBe and N0X, who, after fighting until the last second, had to surrender to the superiority of HD!

Neik and his HOH teammates continued their preparations for the upcoming events in Westeros. In the meantime, however, in order to make the most of every second available to them, accompanied by Ferrious, the K345 member arrived today to watch a match between two factions that were having a season above expectations.

They would face each other in this fifth round...

After suffering their first defeat in the previous round at the hands of RoD, the newly merged WxC and DUM team managed to prove themselves as a top-level faction despite the loss of crucial members from their ranks. Led by the incredible bzzb, BA NA NA, and DarkCrixo, they were definitely the favorites today.

But they would have to face an opponent that was anything but easy to beat...!

Having reached the fifth round after a hard-fought battle against N0X, from which they emerged victorious, the group had undoubtedly exceeded expectations and had no intention of stopping now that they had nothing left to lose. Under the leadership of exceptional fighters such as Stunnz, Zaratus, and Zarachiel, they would undoubtedly be a real match for their rivals today!

“I see WxD starting with an advantage,” said Neik, addressing her ally Ferrious as the two eagerly awaited the start of the fight while observing the determination in the eyes of the warriors lined up in the arena. She saw the alliance's roster as superior to that of their rivals.

“I agree, against RoD they had the chance not to waste unnecessary energy because they had no chance of winning,” she added wisely.

The fifth round was about to begin, the do-or-die match for the two factions. The icy wind blew strongly as the fighters lined up, while snowflakes began to fall silently from the sky, covering the ground in a matter of minutes and making the air even more hostile and tense. The importance of the moment could be felt in the surreal silence that surrounded the two factions, broken only by the howling of wolves in the distance. 

The clash between the two alliances began with them dividing up the available positions!

HD! managed to win both outposts, while WxD responded by capturing Warrior and Mother's Temple, a balanced start for the racers on both sides.

The first thrill came when bzzb and his teammates attempted a swap. The building was narrowly missed by the attentive HD! fighters, but WxD reinforcements arrived just in time.

Subsequently, it was their turn to make the move, putting Mother STRAW BERRY, one of the most skilled fighters in the group, on defense. He was certainly a difficult target for his rivals to face.

The first offensive actions came when the outpost bubble fell at the hands of WxD, who relentlessly targeted it with ruthless individual attacks by their best fighters. Virgiliy's defenses, not adequately reinforced by his HD! comrades, held out as long as they could, but in the end, they were overwhelmed by Wellerman's final blow.

Taking advantage of the momentum of the match in their favor, without wasting a moment, bzzb and his teammates decided to launch direct attacks on Lannister Outpost, where GeorgeBylis was defending with the strength of his female formation and his fearsome cavs. When the offensives reached their destination, the battle dragged on for some time, but in the end, WxD prevailed once again, conquering the fourth building of the match with the final blow inflicted by miako kujo.

“I didn't expect such poor defensive attention from HD!” commented Neik, recalling how excellent they were during the Alliance Conquest season against HOH.

“Maybe they didn't come into this match convinced they could get a favorable result,” said Ferrious to her ally, who was also surprised by the approach of Stunnz and his teammates.

But just then...

A few seconds after the ports opened, in an unexpected move, HD! managed to snatch Mother's Temple right out of STRAW BERRY's seemingly secure grasp!

The waves of attacks reached their destination with incredible speed, and although WxD's defenses were quick, they were unable to replace their fallen troops in time, seeing one of their best fighters repelled by the building's defenses. The fatal blow was dealt by Effe and his Spear-Weakness formation, which perfectly countered his rival's Female-Cav, an advantage that proved decisive for him.

With a score of three buildings to one, however, the advantage was still in the hands of WxD, but everyone's eyes were on the opening of the ports, crucial for their contribution to the score!

When they became available... once again, the two alliances were evenly matched!

WELLISA for HD! and Sylica for WxD managed to conquer the ports closest to their base, keeping the match in a stalemate.

However, it was Stunnz's faction that needed to make a swap. Their rivals knew they could count on Sylica's strength to defend their conquest. When HD!'s swap attempt was successful, it was intercepted by the alert WxD fighters, who waited for the right moment to storm the building's walls!

To deal a decisive blow to their rivals' morale, STRAW BERRY and his companions returned to attack Mother's Temple to regain possession from their rivals and gain dominance on the battlefield.

But, the waves of single attacks were repelled by the vigilant defense, which remained standing until WxD decided to try their luck again, this time with rallies. This time, there was no hope for the defenders, as the only building in their hands was conquered by Jason168's irresistible attack.

However, just as it fell...

A timid response was made by Arthurion and the members of HD! in Lannister Outpost. The faction caught their rivals off guard during their attacks and managed to successfully besiege the walls of their target so as not to be completely left without positions.

“WxD's advantage at this point is considerable, and if they manage to conquer CR as well, I doubt HD! will be able to keep up with them,” said Neik doubtfully, seeing an increasingly decisive match. STRAW BERRY and his companions were fighting at a different pace than their rivals and, up to this point, deserved to qualify, but nothing was mathematically decided.

At the opening of Casterly Rock...

DarkCrixo's incredible speed allowed him to conquer the walls of the building... for WxD!

Having managed to gain possession of it with one of the most feared fighters in their ranks made the position difficult for their rivals to conquer.

Recognizing this, Stunnz and his companions decided to concentrate their forces on the assault on Lannister Port, which they considered a more accessible target. However, when the wave of attacks reached its destination, it crashed against Sylica's granite defenses, which did not give the slightest impression of being in difficulty.

To put an end to the match, WxD then assaulted the walls of Lannister Outpost, where Arthurion was defending. Again, however, the defenses proved insurmountable. WxD's leadership, however, without giving their rivals time to catch their breath, decreed a new attempt against the latter, but even in this case, despite inflicting considerable damage, it was to no avail. Arthurion was certainly one of HD!'s most skilled fighters, and thanks to the support of his allies, he managed to defend the walls of the only building in their hands.

“I think they're preparing to attack Casterly Rock,” said Neik, who saw HD!'s preparations for a siege. After all, it was the only building whose capture could lead them to the opening of the mines and give them a chance to turn the match around. The advantage gained by WxD at the 30-minute mark of the match was considerable, and they were close to securing a mathematical victory.

After making their final preparations, Strunnz and his teammates launched their attack, and when they reached DarkCrixo's defenses... there was absolutely no hope of conquest for them. The rival's Bleeding-Inf formation, with the careful support of their allies, was an insurmountable mountain for the attackers.

However, the final blow to the morale of the clearly disadvantaged group came a few moments later...

After seeing their attempt fail so overwhelmingly, the members of HD! attempted to support Arthurion's defenses under constant siege from WxD, who took advantage of the moment to repeatedly strike their rival's walls until they collapsed. STRAW BERRY played a key role in the latter's reconquest, giving his group supremacy over the entire battlefield.

“I think it's over,” said Ferrious, seeing HD!'s subsequent attempts to get back into the race but without success against a rival who, although starting as the favorite, could certainly have been in trouble, but today the dedication of the WxD members in sacrificing themselves to support their conquests was decisive.

The battle thus dragged on until the end of the 60 minutes and the inevitable victory, already largely guaranteed, by... WxD!

The best fighters of the match were DarkCrixo for WxD and Zarachiel for HD!. The WxD fighter played a key role in the match, managing to gain possession of CR first and then defending it, securing a crucial point for her faction at that moment in the match. Zarachiel tried to turn the tide of the match with his relentless attacks, but found himself up against a much more determined and self-sacrificing opponent.

“I expected a longer battle,” Neik said to his ally on the way back to K345. He had expected more effort from HD!, but perhaps their rivals were too strong and in too good shape to make it a balanced match.

“They deserved the victory, and I think HD! is also satisfied with their progress. Reaching the fifth round of Ultimate Conquest is no mean feat,” replied Ferrious, seeing the positive side of Strunnz and his teammates' season.

Thus ended the fifth round of the Super League, with FFS eliminated by NBe and WxD advancing to the next round, which meant goodbye to the competition for HD!, who continued their journey in the loser bracket. These two joined BDR and RoD, who were still undefeated, in the ranking of the four strongest alliances on the continent.
