A Training Day KVK

With All Out War being done for all intents and purposes, we began to look forward to a no death kvk. We laid out our sacrificial gifts for the gods, hoping to sway them into a great match up. The Gods, while taking our offerings, decided upon some shenanigans of their own. For this KVK we were not the cohesive unit we normally are. Normally we all fight as one from THP, brothers and sisters in arms. This time life has just pulled us in different directions. Due to real life malarky, I wasn't sure if I would even be able to play KVK so I joined Dtp with a friend.

Vegeta had gone to visit friends and do kvk on another server. Ath was in TPD and the rest in THP. Once I knew I would get to participate, I began to think about our circumstances. Being spread out like we were would make the castle tactic difficult if we needed it. Dtp don’t need buffs and I like to preserve the servers' castle buffs when we can.  I dismissed the thought immediately, I can just take the enemy castles lol. Put a pin in that! 😂

Finally it was time for the Old Gods to reveal who our enemy would be. I think we all stared at the screen blinking in disbelief. Is this real? WTF is happening? They are a huge part of our AOW faction and more importantly, have become dear friends. I know this is no death, but I don’t want my friends to lose their castles either. I don’t want hard feelings or cheap shots. I do NOT want this matchup. Did they feel the same?

I know I am very me me me here. I hoped but my feelings were shared universally by the others of K13. I reached out to K4rma immediately. We don’t want this, I let her know. There was no game, no angle just seeing the match had deflated our wills to fight. We liked them too much AND All Out war is still happening despite the ranks being decided. To my relief, her people and her had felt the same. Members from both sides began decrying our bad luck in the faction chat. Is this really a thing? Allies in one event and enemies in the other at the same dang time? 

We opted to carve out a peaceful treaty. They would take castles on their server, we would take ours. We would farm on each others server for points, especially helpful for those still grinding out Zhea and rebel gear. Later towards the end, we would work out some friendly battles for the lulz and for SCIENCE! We would deal with any violators of our agreement. Both sides were disappointed, there is no denying that. How could we not be? We all expected a balls to the wall, all out brawl and instead we have treaties and peace… IN A NO DEATH KVK lol. The gods got jokes. 

As with any peaceful arrangement, there are inevitably those who miss the memo. Servers are rarely just a single alliance, despite having a single ruler. Leadership tries their best, but some people will do what they do regardless. The first mini disruption came from a different alliance from 320. They must have thought they hit the motherlode of unbubbled, sometimes afk, totally relaxed attitude of those not anticipating the disturbance. One of our own was sent to deal with the disturbance.

Once the hoopla died down, another player had seen my alt. They moved into place a distance from Skeeter who was sitting unawares in a castle. While they were far enough away that I wouldn’t catch them casually scanning the area, they were close enough to attack, and attack they did…

I couldn’t even get mad, I understand it takes a while to get the information to all the players. Really he took the worst end of this. He struck again, I am not sure what the thought process was when Skeeter had his lord. Then he hit a third and final time.

With that little bit of excitement over, we were left to try and figure out some entertainment. Normally, I would have joined THP for kvk but I wasn’t sure how much I could play so I went into my lil farmville dtP. This mixed with a no death kvk gave us a rare opportunity for shenanigans indeed. We could have a training day let THP rally me, anything really that they may want to work on. I put up the offer wondering if anyone would be interested. I know I would love that opportunity to practice with no real stakes. LadySam stepped up first, shaking off the nervousness she felt. Don’t worry I whispered, If you lose your lord, I will release it. She opted to rally Skeeter. Her inf tore through Skeeters wal as if it was made of paper. She won

I don’t feel like I won when I look at the report, LadySam said lol. I told her yes that is true. While she won the fight she only killed T1s, while skeeter killed higher tiered troops. Sam didn’t lose her lord though and the information she can get off that battle report will help guide her development in the future. Next Stardust wanted to rally me. I did not bother to hide my troops choosing to pretend it was a sneak attack lol. She counters me but I knew I had an advantage being on the defensive. It would show us both what we were doing well and what still needed work.

We continued fighting among ourselves for our own amusement and knowledge. Not wanting to waste such a rare opportunity as this. In the last 10 minutes of the event, I got a raven from someone in TNP asking if I was still down for friendly fights. I sent him my coords. When he arrived, I let him choose between Skeeter or myself and let him have his fun. Only interfering to release his lord back to him.

It was not the KVK I had dreamed of but we managed to make it a good time. Who would have thought we would match against an alliance in our AOW faction that we actually loved. Yet much like our AOW map, I enjoyed just doing what I wanted, with no pressure to go without sleep and food. Just having fun with the people that I enjoy playing with. I dunno, I better get out of Hippie Dippy mode and get my war face on cause word on the streets in the Night King cometh… You know that frozen bastard is immune to my charms lol.😂
