SIEGE OF WINTERFELL | SEASON 15 PLAY-OFFS ROUND 1 | NWB vs HD!

Welcome Lord and Ladies to the Siege of Winterfell play-offs, today we have two titans of Westeros facing one another for the chance to make it to the quarter-finals of the competition. The first team we have for you is NWB, led by the impressive Cubishnia, he was happy just to get into the play-offs and anything further would be a bonus. On the other side we have HD! led by the powerhouse Lord Orval, he believes with a bit of luck his team can get to the finals. Two teams enter the fray and one is seeking to defy expectations, will the underdog NWB be able to defeat the might of HD!? Stay with us Lords and Ladies and experience something you will never forget!

Cubishnia wants to give his side the best possible chance of progressing to the next round, “I have changed the groups, whenever I see something worth attacking, it will be called, just make sure you pay attention,” Cubishnia knew it would be a tough match but he wanted to see how far he could push HD!

Siege of Winterfell has a symmetrical battlefield, both sides have two outposts and two strongholds on their side with the Armory and Hotspring on the left and right side respectively with Winterfell itself directly in the middle. The team which controls these structures will accumulate points per minute, also a package from Winterfell which when delivered also provides points, the team with the most points at the end of the match wins. In the regular season altars would appear but for the play-offs, these altars are deactivated. Will Cubishnia’s adaptations be enough to topple the might of HD!?

L e i a is second in command and believes they have a shot at success, “the enemy is known for their speedy starts, they usually have cavalry charge for both Armory and Hotspring in an attempt to take it before their opponents arrive, we have to match them if we want to stop their tactics, “L e i a had done her homework and wanted to use every trick in the book. For NWB, this match could cement them as a force to be reckoned with. For HD! it’s a chance to silence the doubters and prove they are no longer up and coming but the real deal. 

On the other hand, Lord Orval was unfazed by NWB, “this should be like another regular season match, they are nothing special, we should be able to dominate, “Lord Orval was confident in his team and for good reason, HD! hasn’t lost to NWB for a couple of seasons, whether it be Siege of Winterfell or other competitive events. As the snow once again falls on Winterfell, will history repeat itself, with HD! grinding NWB into the frozen dirt? Will Cubishnia and L e i a finally shatter the HD! ceiling and become legends in their own right? The Siege of Winterfell is about to begin and both teams have something to prove, Lord and Ladies the first round of the play-offs is about to begin!

The match finally got underway with HD! as predicted using their cavalry to take both the Armory and Hotsprings before any battle began. “Our cavalry is too fast for them, looks like we will capture the Armory before they can react,” Lord Orval had given his side an advantage before any swords clashed. “We could only stop them on the Hotspring side but we can still fight for both objectives, “L e i a couldn’t spare more calvary for the Armory and NWB decided to prioritise the Hotsprings. “The fight for the Armory is a tough one, their warriors are stronger than ours, “Cubishnia was being realistic and didn’t want NWB to waste more resources on a lost battle. As HD! kept the Armory under their control it was down to the wire at the Hotsprings but eventually NWB would succumb to the power of HD! “Look at them run, they know they can’t win but they keep coming, “Lord Orval was mocking his opponents as they retreated. Will Cubishnia and L e i a find a crack in their enemy’s armor? Will Lord Orval’s warriors march unopposed to the next round?" Don’t miss out on this unforgettable battle between these two titans!

The first package would become the epicentre of combat, “they are giving us a test at Winterfell, we may need reinforcements, “Cid Kagenou was surrounded by NWB but his comrades held back their warriors until a clear path was created for him. Meanwhile at the Armory the battle continued, “why are they so obsessed with the Armory, they seem to have given up on the Hotsprings,” Lord Orval liked what he was seeing, all was going to plan as HD! dominated the battlefield. “I knew the Armory was a trap, we should have focused elsewhere, the package should be our main concern, “Cubishnia was angered by the continuous attacks on the Armory but he knew if they wanted to win this match, they would eventually need this important objective. HD! was already creating a gap for themselves but NWB won’t go silently into the night, will NWB’s stubbornness be their downfall or begin the epic comeback?

All eyes would turn to the second package and whether or not NWB could turn the tide or be swept into the abyss. “We were too quick for them this time, it seems they are having trouble deciding whether to fight for buildings or take the package,” Lord Orval had seen this before, indecisiveness is the killer of most teams in Siege of Winterfell. While the package was being delivered by HD! the battle for the Armory never seems to end, “we are losing buildings and the package simultaneously, the loss of the Hotsprings is hitting us hard, ill get it back myself, “L e i a made it her mission to capture the Hotsprings but there was a huge price for capturing the Hotsprings. “They have delivered the second package and taken most of the battlefield, we need to change something or face complete defeat, “Cubishnia was looking at the heavens, he needed divine intervention at this point. HD! stands on the precipice of glory, while NWB teeters above the abyss, Lords and Ladies who do you think will come out on top?

The half way point of the match was a crucial one, each side knew the third package would decide the match, “we may as well move as one unit than lose around the battlefield in small groups, “Cubishnia had enough of the situation and would meet HD! head on at Winterfell. “There is no use staying at the Hotsprings while they take the rest of the battlefield, I will join Cubishnia’s group at Winterfell, we will make our final stand there,” L e i a agreed with her good friend, the match was already getting out of hand and one more package for HD! would seal their fate.

The time had come for NWB to show what they were made of as Cubishnia and Lord Orval met at the heart of Winterfell, “you forced my hand, Winterfell will turn red once I’m done with you, “Cubishnia looked at his sword and whispered, “ Lord of Light, lend me your strength,” as he swung with full force at Lord Orval who seemed to be stung by the speed and precision of his foe. “That was impressive but my Valyrian steel plate armor saved me from your attack, “Lord Orval could see NWB were going all in for this package, he would have to decide whether to fight or give up on this battle but win the war. “L e i a you are as enchanting as the stories say about you, did you like what we did with the Hotsprings? We left it empty and you fell for the trap,” Lord Orval commanded his troops to retreat as he taunted NWB from afar. As NWB guided the package with the bulk of their forces baby sitting the package deliverer, the rest of the battlefield would remain under the control of HD!

The small victory at Winterfell would be the nail in the coffin for NWB as they gave up map control for one package, “I delivered the package but the only way we can do so is when most of us are defending me, “KING BELIAL could see the winds shifting against them, NWB could no longer win the match and he knew it. “Did he really leave the Hotsprings empty and how did he know I would leave my position at that time?” L e i a was starting to doubt herself but Cubishnia quickly snapped her out of it. “Don’t fall for his nonsense, he left the Hotsprings because we were overplaying our hand, it was our fault, “Cubishnia owned up to his mistakes and would need a united front for the rest of the match. On the other hand, Lord Orval was back at Winterfell to drive out what remained of NWB’s small force, “ill deliver this package myself, if they all come again, they will lose more points than they will gain from delivering the package, “Lord Orval moved his opponents around the battlefield like a puppet master, always one step ahead. As the snow rested on Winterfell, what could have been for NWB was now a tomb of ice and a monument of HD!’s domination. 

With the final minutes of the match approaching, HD! were already celebrating their path to the quarter-finals, “dam this snow is getting deep but even the Old Gods couldn’t stop our victory today, “Lord Orval had spear headed HD! in dominating fashion but would their next opponents gain intel from this match and counter his moves?

Meanwhile NWB continued to fight for every building, they gave up on the final package to finish off strong, “The Lord of Light didn’t favour us today, my swing against Lord Orval, bounced right off, I knew then that this match was doomed, “Cubishnia would seek repentance by gaining as much of the battlefield as possible, finishing strong to pass the 20k mark. 

The match came to an end with a whimper rather than an explosion, NWB were content with the season, they managed to finish in the top 12 and that was their goal at the start of the season, “ we did what we came to do, no one can take that way from us and this match will help us get stronger, learning from your defeats is how we will grow together, “ Cubishnia looked into L e i a’s eyes as he gave his final speech of the match. “I will never doubt myself like I did in this match, letting him get into my mind so easily was a mistake, “L e i a would also grow, learning from this match and season as a whole.

On the other side of the battlefield, the victors celebrated a well-deserved win, “our road to the finals is a long one but we are one step closer,” Lord Orval was joyous but he couldn’t become complacent, he knew the tests would be harder further down the road. As one team bows out of the competition and one team advances, there’s an eerie calm at Winterfell but the game of thrones never ends, it simply takes a break.
