1. Introduction
Patch 2.7.6 introduces impactful changes to troop capacity, alliance management, skill balancing, and more. These updates are designed to streamline gameplay and create new opportunities for players to strategize effectively. As we prepare for the Castle Level 60 update, these adjustments provide useful tools to strengthen your kingdom and armies.
If you’re preparing for Castle Level 60, as detailed in my Castle 60 Guide, these optimizations will align perfectly with your resource, training, and troop strategies. Let’s break down the highlights and examine how they’ll influence the meta and your everyday experience.
2. Optimizations: Enhancing Gameplay Flow
Training Grounds Capacity
- Change: Troop capacity increased from 110,000 to 120,000, with per-level capacity gains doubled (10,000 → 20,000).
- Impact: Players can maintain larger reserves for battles, which is especially critical during large-scale events like Server versus Server or Contention of Lords (CoL).
Mael’s Opinion: This is a welcome change, particularly for servers with intense PvP activity. More troops mean less downtime between battles and reduced reliance on gems or speed-ups. Start training your troops now and saving speed-ups, as recommended in my Castle Level 60 guide, to take full advantage of this upgrade.
Alliance Member Limit
- Change: Default alliance size increased to 80 members.
- Impact: Larger alliances bring more resources, better coordination, and stronger teamwork during server-wide events.
Mael’s Opinion: While this isn’t a major change, it raises questions about what it could imply for game mechanics or server dynamics. Could it translate to larger alliances overall if growth through technology or levels continues? Or will it create balance challenges in competitive events? Smaller alliances may need to merge to stay relevant.
Well of Time Raid Limit
- Change: Raid All limit increased from 5 to 10.
- Impact: Players can now clear more stages in less time, significantly speeding up resource farming.
Mael’s Opinion: I’m thrilled with this update. It aligns perfectly with my advice on SP Potion stacking for new Well of Time chapters in the Castle Level 60 guide. This change will be especially useful for preparing Immortal boosts and Immortal specialization, both of which are critical in a potential Castle Level 60 update. By increasing the raid limit, players can farm essential resources more efficiently and get a head start on tougher challenges.
3. Balance Adjustments: Skill Tweaks and Meta Shifts
Skills are the heart of every battle in Infinity Kingdom. They can make or break your strategy, turning the tide of victory or defeat. Changes to skills can shake up the meta, forcing players to rethink their strategies and team setups. Let’s take a closer look at the latest adjustments, what they mean for the game, and how you can adapt to stay ahead.
Fighting Master
- Current: Provides general damage reduction (15%) and immunity to control but doesn’t counter specific effects like Himiko’s Exile.
- Change: Adds immunity to control effects, including Himiko’s Exile, but reduces damage reduction to 10% (a 5% decrease).
- Impact: Counters control-heavy Himiko teams, significantly shifting the PvP meta.
Mael’s Opinion: As a huge fan of Himiko (she’s my in-game crush!), seeing her Exile effect countered is disappointing. While it adds balance, it forces Himiko mains to rethink strategies. Should players now focus on maximizing her damage potential rather than relying on control? This change also opens exciting possibilities, such as equipping Fighting Master on Himiko herself, pairing it with Battle Stance and Demonic Contract to make her an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
Ambush
- Current Skill: Ambush is a dual-purpose skill with both defensive and offensive elements. Every 12 seconds, there’s a 50% chance to enter stealth mode, rendering you unable to act or be targeted for 3 seconds. Upon exiting stealth, it deals massive physical damage to all enemies, with a damage rate of {120% + 40% per level}. Damage Rating: Currently ranked third among average damage-dealing skills, making it a reliable and solid offensive skill.
- Update: The skill now provides Absolute Defense instead of stealth. After the battle starts, there’s a 70% chance every 12 seconds to gain 3 seconds of Absolute Defense, blocking up to 2 instances of damage. At the end of the 3 seconds, it deals physical damage to all enemies, with a reduced damage rate of {90% + 30% per level}.
- Impact: This rework shifts Ambush to a more defensive role, adding reliability to frontline tanks while retaining team-wide damage output, though at a slightly lower damage rate.
Mael’s Opinion: This rework makes Ambush a more versatile skill, aligning it better with tank-focused builds and enhancing its consistency. However, the trade-off is a slight decrease in damage potential. Players who relied on Ambush for heavy damage may need to adjust their strategies, but the added Absolute Defense brings exciting synergies, particularly for defensive compositions.
Corrosive Power
- Current Skill: Corrosive Power combines energy regeneration and damage amplification in two parts:
- Energy Regeneration: Every time you deal direct damage (continuous damage excluded) three times, you restore 200 energy. This condition is easy to fulfill, making the skill highly reliable.
- Damage Boost: Each time you trigger the energy restoration, you also gain 60% increased ultimate skill damage for 2 seconds. The short duration limits its applicability, benefiting only a select few Immortals who can consistently capitalize on it.
- Update: The skill is reworked to enhance its effectiveness:
- Energy Regeneration: After dealing direct damage with ultimate skills three times, you now restore {60 + 20 per level} energy.
- Damage Boost: The ultimate damage increase is adjusted to {18% + 6% per level} but now lasts for a substantial 9 seconds, making it far easier to utilize and turning it into a sustain damage skill.
- Impact: The update significantly increases the skill’s sustained damage potential. By extending the damage boost duration from 2 seconds to 9 seconds, a wider range of Immortals can benefit, making this skill much more versatile.
Mael’s Opinion:This is a fantastic adjustment that caters perfectly to sustained damage builds. The longer duration synergizes well with Immortals like Himiko or Loki in Earth teams, who can maintain consistent damage output. Additionally, it complements energy regeneration strategies, as highlighted in my Castle Level 60 guide, by creating more opportunities to trigger ultimate skills. This rework truly elevates Corrosive Power into a must-have skill for energy-based strategies.
Heavy Lifter
- Current Skill:
- Chance to Activate: 50%
- Damage Rate: 360% magical damage to all enemies.
- Attack Speed Reduction: Reduces attack speed of all enemies by 50%.
- Duration: Effects last for 12 seconds.
- Updated Skill:
- Chance to Activate: Increased to 70%.
- Damage Rate: Slightly reduced to 350% magical damage.
- Attack Speed Reduction: Now targets only the 2 enemies with the highest physical attack, reducing their attack speed by 30%.
- Duration: Effects still last for 12 seconds.
- Insights: The activation chance improvement enhances the skill's reliability. Focusing on the two strongest physical attackers makes the skill more precise and impactful in PvP but less effective for large-scale AoE utility. The damage reduction (from 360% to 350%) is minor.
4. Quality of Life Changes: Making Norheim More Accessible
Claim All Feature
- What’s New: Unlock this feature at Castle Level 15+ to quickly collect daily missions and alliance rewards.
- Why It Matters: Saves time and ensures players don’t miss rewards during busy events.
Mael’s Opinion: Simple but effective. This feature will especially benefit players preparing for Castle 60, where efficient resource collection is critical.
5. Mael’s Opinion: Key Takeaways
This patch balances impactful gameplay updates with quality-of-life improvements. While I’m personally not happy about Fighting Master countering Himiko, the meta adjustments bring more diversity and tactical depth. The Claim All feature and other optimizations make daily gameplay smoother, and the balance changes open new strategic possibilities.
