More benefits, more surprises
Hello Infinity Kingdom This is Magic Mage from Server 243 and today we are jumping into the exciting topic of Crit and Resilience In addition to Doge and Accuracy. Recently, I was approached by a new player within our infinity kingdom family. In server 309 a lord asked when looking at skills from the tower of knowledge, what is the importance of critical hits, accuracy, and resilience and what should they focus on. This is a fantastic question and if you are not already asking how the mechanics of these attributes impact your immortals and marches you should. As such this article will strive to provide the answers from questions derived from the conversation, I had with NighTTraiN to help both those new to the game and hopefully some of those seasoned players.
Overview

- What is Crit
- What is Resilience
- What is Accuracy
- What is Dodge
- Rate vs. Value

The Question Asked
The individual who reached out, began inquiring about resilience and accuracy, when they were looking at different skills they could obtain. Particularly, they were looking at the skill Penance which increases resilience rate by 4.5% to 15% when fully developed.
They were weighing the benefits of the above skill in comparison to the skill Precision which increases your Accuracy Rate by 4.5% up to 15%
In which our conversation expanded further in discussions regarding the rare skill: Rage, which increases crit rate by 4.5% to 15% when fully developed.
Magic Mage’s Thoughts on these Blue Rare skills:
When I first started playing infinity kingdom, I remember being told that blue skills are not worth investing in. In some cases this still holds true. However, I have found times where Rage had been advantageous even in the later game. However, I would not recommend investing in precision or Penance as accuracy and resilience can be obtained for immortals in other less costly ways than soul crystals, or through more advanced epic skills obtained in the tower of knowledge under level 40.
This particular Lord who reached out with his question, wanted to know what skill might be more advantageous moving forward. To answer their question, we first needed to examine the individual march the lord was trying to develop. In particularly, we needed to look at the amount of Crit and Resilience, in addition to Dodge and Accuracy. We look not only at each immortal the march is comprised of, but also where these elements are enhanced from outside factors. We will also want to review how these factors are appearing within battle report to determine the particular areas our own marches are excelling and where they could improve.
From this individual Lord’s inquires, and their desire to understand the dynamic relationship between these figures that drive our march, it became evident an article to help articulate and display the concepts discussed would be advantageous to answer the well thought out questions proposed by this Lord and serve as a guide to aid other lords new to our IK family, and as a reminder to those more experienced looking to build their immortal tree and trade out new skills introduced to the game for ones of the past.
What is Crit
Crit, or a critical hit is a successful attack that deals significantly more damage than a normal attack. The probability of a critical hit is typically less than your average normal attacks, but when they occur this powerful attack can be a huge increase damage dealt and changing the course of a battle. Crit typically is seen in battles as an offensive attribute.
What is Resilience
When one first thinks of resilience you may think about your ability to adapt to change as we learn from failures to proceed pushing forward. However, when looking at statistics in game Resilience takes on a different meaning with a similar essence. Resilience reduces your chances of receiving critical hits from an enemy. This allows you to survive these burst attacks of huge damage essentially allowing you to take a defensive role. In some cases I have also seen Resilience help counter damage over time (DOT) skill effects as well.
What is Accuracy
Accuracy looks at how often an immortal is able to hit their intended target and how closely this will result in the best possible play for your character against an opponent’s specific moves. Simply put. Accuracy increases the chance of you hitting an enemy. This is advantageous when facing opponents such as wind immortals who have a higher chance of dodging attacks.
Key Note: Accuracy primarily focuses on physical damage with the exception of certain effects such as cleave which does not need to take into consideration accuracy or dodge. This is the same for any type of magical damage.
While the Lord who asked their question did not directly ask about Dodge, we are unable to look at Accuracy without looking at what dodge is.
What is Dodge
Dodge is an ability that increases your chance of the enemy missing you in performing an attack so no damage or negative effect is incurred.
Key Take Aways from these Terms -
When we look at the four above terms, we tend to see crit discussed with Resilience and Accuracy closely discussed with Dodge. It is hard to understand one fully without the other as they act similarly as a yin and yang. A well-balanced team will allow you to dodge your enemies’ hits, accurately execute and reach your target, which result in high critical damage vs. normal damage and have strong resilience to reduce the critical damage your team receives. As our New Lord so astutely pointed out in his question, there are skills within the tower of knowledge, including rare, epic, elite, and legendary that can aid in these for areas. But this is not the only location we can enhance our immortal and troop accuracy, resilience, dodge rate and critical attacks.
Rate vs. Value
As important as it is for us to understand the relationship between crit and resilience in addition to doge and accuracy, we also must understand how the individual calculations for these four factors are determined.
Remember: Rate increases your entirety of base values and Value adds a flat Increase. As such rate increases stats by a percentage and value increases stats by a flat amount. That flat amount could be a percentage we are increasing the amount by. Statistically, rate is good when stats are high, value is better when stats are low.
When looking at these four components within our game we also need to consider beyond the source of the stat, if it is a rate or value. This is a topic that has been visited and discussed by several experienced players within the game. There is a reason why this question is relevant not only for the new Lord entering IK looking at those first rare blue skills but also why seasoned players having remained in conquest also ask and revisit these characteristics. While physical attack, physical defense, magical attack, and magical defense can be self-explanatory, crit, resilience, dodge, and accuracy is not as easy to fully grasp; but by no means should be overlooked.
While crafting this article, Yawgmoth was able to remind me of a comment made back by Woody in September of this year when he researched the concept of crit value and crit rate.
Remember: when looking at the x rate above, this is unique for every immortal and can be discovered in part under the detailed attributes for an immortal. While we may never know the exact X value unique to all immortals, We can gage the value by the frequency of critical attacks.
We can identify immortal stats within their individual Detailed Attributes Page:
Hint: This can be viewed by clicking on any immortal from the battle Details page in a report before you check the individual stats.
Furthermore, where VIP looks at base numbers without a modifier, one’s dragon talents can make this significantly overpowered as it increases base stats, such as your VIP level. This is why individuals running a fire march dependent on critical damage will advise the importance of obtaining VIP level 13 at minimum but ideally level 15. With all marches there are free to play aspects and aspects that make a march more expensive. The VIP boost fire immortals thrive on is one way a fire march can be expensive, where expense in other marches such as water can be for obtaining artifacts and particular immortal fragments.
When I was explaining to Yagmoth (Storben) I was thinking of creating this article to help answer a question proposed our conversation took on a life of it’s own. But after hours of discussion and looking at what each of us had learned and discovered over the years, he was able to succinctly summarize our discussion in relation to value rate and percentage % bonuses as follows:
You can thank him and his ability to summarize my 65 page dissertation regarding these concepts in these quick and Succinct points.
Furthermore, all immortals have a base line crit. Skills like: Time to Shine, Unyeilding, and Rage. Any skill that increases crit rate also increases a base line crit chance in the form of an attack. If you have immortals with a crit base line rate of 1% this means 1% of all damage dealt will result with delivering a crit attack to an enemy. So adding for instance the new skill time to shine, increases 30% crit rate and will therefore increase this base rate from 1% to 31%.
Once this base rate is calculated then all crit percentage effects increased how often you will crit, as it increases your chance. To put this in perspective, if you are running time to shine, unyielding and rage, this means you base line of 100% crit rate assuming your enemy has zero reliance and is not running malice would result in your marches always performing a crit attack.
With the introduction of the Immortal Specializations we have an even greater opportunities to increase crit value and crit rate.
Why Should you Care and What Next
In understanding how these key elements interact we can then look further to try and answer the question proposed by a different lord within the same server of 309: “Do you know exactly how the damage calculations work?”
These four components to a march are not just your foundation, but the building blocks to offensive and defensive builds, moving skills and troops around to combat an opponent with a greater troop power, knowing how to apply gems to equipment and can help you understand why you won or lost a match.
