The 10th match of Arena of Honor was upon us, and has been typical this season, we had a hiccup. Ary our Clan Castle Queen was unable to be there. M1lf thought it would be fine. “Don’t worry, I can just chuck her in the castle and focus on the other accounts”…

Don’t worry girl, I will slap him lol

The fact that he thought Ary had just sat in the castle and didn’t participate was laughable. She has the most important jobs on the map. Ary keeps an eye on the big picture, alerting us if we can take or lose something. She directs attacks to the Watchtowers, Catapults and other clan castles. She attacks to take Altars, Dragon Pits and Mine shafts. TLDR, she does more than the rest of us combined lol. It made me nervous to make this attempt without her, so I chose to go in solo.

It was a gamble still, this solo journey of mine, would I get an impossible whale map? Would I get people who just set down their accounts and go afk? Will these future teammates even understand the intricacies of the event? I had more questions than answers but had already cast the die.

Once matchmaking finished, I saw my team. A mishmash from many alliances, which I love lol. I saw a player from THP, a group I had faced last no death KVK and became friendly with. We also had someone from WxC, ARM and some smaller alliances. The group had potential, I thought as I tried not to count my chickens before they hatch lol.

As I glanced around the map, I saw some familiar faces. It seemed like an equally yoked match. Scatterings of bigger players but no confirmed whale sightings that would deem the match impossible.

The match felt like it started so quickly, I had hardly gotten to glance around, it was then that I began to second guess my choice to go it alone. After all I know what to bring for my team as far as troops. I had no idea if the troops I brought in would work. We were about to find out…. YOLO!

The strongholds went smoothly, how can they not lol. You only have to worry about NPC attacks in this early stage of the maps. The Altars opening then introduces a pvp aspect to the event. This is where you will attack and defend against the other factions. Yall, know I love to collect battle reports to see what we will face when the city of glory opened.

I like to spread around my attacks, creeping into the other territories, seeing what kind of Shenanigans I could muster.

Fuuuuuuukkkkk I cried out…. It is always FUK lol

Dragon Pits opened and still I became a pest… Take then  bubble, take then bubble keeping an eye on the city timer so I could pull back my fighters and try for the city.

There were some wins

There were some losses

The city was opening as I called my fighters back, but our Ally from UNO called a rally. I sent my T5s hoping it would be helpful.

We had successfully taken the City of Glory, now the real test, can we hold it until it bubbles, skimming points from all the other factions??? FuWoQiLai defended against NPC’s and players alike….

We were within seconds of the bubble, just need to HOLDDDDD ONNNNNN…. Then bam Lord dragon appeared…

I attempted to rally, but my Weakness-Female hybrid line was no match for theirs partially because of lack of troops...

It was evident we would not be able to take back the castle, maybe I should have tried pure female??? We shifted focus to obtaining points. We were in second place which would be a good finish if we could hold it. I began to go back to terrorizing the Altars, throwing whatever I had to get whatever I could

I took more dragon pits

And defending like our second place depends on it. Because it did.

Our focus on maintaining our position was working. We were still solidly in 2nd place. The match was almost over, and I could breathe again. Now I could think about all that had just happened and make some sense over it.

I did well on eliminations,

but I did miss my Shenanigans Squad. It is harder to communicate with a random group of strangers who can be located literally anywhere in the world. Absence of Voice chat for discussing important things really was hard for me. It is amazing how quickly you can get used to something. There were still lessons learned. It bugged me that I couldn’t beat that one inf player. Which reminded me that I should be more open to putting in some other fighting lines, as need be. I have a decent pure female line that may have gotten me better results since their Marge couldn’t disarm my Jaime. It encouraged me to play around with different lines and experiment more, FOR THE SCIENCE!

I will be glad to be with the homies for match 11. Then it dawned on me…. The real horror of my decision to go in solo…. My Alt still needed to play and the only other time to do it for me would be the last match….. What have I done?
