More benefits, more surprises
I am Bezedash and welcome once more into my GoT world.
PRELUDE
In the days following our victory against KRakeN, i, Bezedash, wrestled with an unyielding resolve to sharpen my sword as keenly as my quill. No longer content to be merely a minstrel observing from the sidelines, i immersed myself in relentless training, my practice an almost ritualistic pursuit of both strength and grace.
LadySam, my steadfast wife, stood at my side, her fierce determination mirroring my own. Together, we set out for the Arena of Honor, our sights on claiming the fabled City of Glory, accompanied by our loyal allies — eyaka, henomaus, P3ndragon, Paco Jhones, mf000 and Арморация.
Upon our return to k299, we sensed an ominous stillness in the air, a brooding heaviness that clung to the atmosphere like the thick fog before a storm.
We were right in the middle of Castle Siege and rumors began to churn, whispering of shifting tides and broken pacts.
Back at our castle, the warriors of MF’s took their respite, but LadySam, eyaka, henomaus, and i lingered by the fire, the air thick with the fragrance of wine and unspoken worry.
It was my wife LadySam who broke the silence, her voice steady but laced with tension.
“We’ve lost more than a battle,” she murmured. “The Great Cities… rumors say N&V has taken them all.”
The N&V, a small but cunning alliance, had taken control of every one of the Great Cities, forming secret allegiances with mighty fighters.
Eyeka, the ever-sharp strategist, clenched his fist.
“They wouldn’t have done this alone. They’ve allied with the merit hunters. And among them, i’ve heard the name KRakeN again... and their leader, СТРAННИК.”
My pulse quickened at the mention of СТРAННИК. He was a worthy rival, one who fought with cunning and skill.
We had clashed before, and i knew there was a measure of respect between us, as cold as it may be. With a nod to eyaka, i rose from my chair.
“We can’t let their ambition go unchallenged. eyeka, will you ride with me?”
Eyeka’s grin held a fierce light.
“ For the sake of our friendship? Always.”
We marched into the night, a fierce determination burning within us. Though King’s Landing remained under the guard of N&V’s deadly archers, we wrested back most of the other cities, leaving only Eyrie defiant in its resistance.
I rallied my forces, pushing deep into the heart of N&V’s hive, setting ablaze any enemy castle that dared to stand nearby.
But victory, like the sweetest melody, turned sour when our enemies, seasoned and relentless, launched their counterattack. СТРAННИК, the very man who had once challenged me, now stood against me again, commanding a rally of archers who unleashed a furious volley of arrows upon my walls. This was no idle skirmish; this was a siege that gnawed at my courage and tested every ounce of strength i possesse. His voice, calm yet carrying across the field like a distant echo, intensified the gravity of the moment..
“Well met, Bezedash,” he called out, lowering his helmet with a respectful nod. “I didn’t expect a knight-minstrel to come this far, or to fight this fiercely.”
I tightened my grip on my sword, straining to keep my doubts hidden beneath a calm facade.
“Some stories must be written with steel, and red ink,” i replied, my voice steady.
СТРAННИК chuckled, an amused glint in his eyes.
“I’ll admit, your blade sings well. But let’s see if you can withstand my melody of arrows.”
His forces launched a storm of arrows, filling the sky with a dark, whistling shadow. My soldiers braced themselves, their shields raised, but i felt the pressure building. Eyeka, ever steadfast, joined me at my side, his dragon soaring into the fray to support our defenses. As the arrows clattered against my walls, i met СТРAННИК’s gaze, catching a glimmer of respect in his steely eyes.
The battle raged on, and twice СТРAННИК’s archers fired their volleys, battering my walls. Each wave of arrows tested our resolve, and as my men rallied, i wondered if this was a story best left untold. But as our losses mounted, i felt something deeper — a shared respect, a sense of camaraderie with the very man who sought to see me defeated. But was it a defeat really?
Although СТРAННИК’s lineup showed a strong female synergy with Daenerys and Cersei, Bezedash’s formation held the advantage by combining both female synergy and weakness synergy plus a meatwall of t1's. The resulting damage wreaked havoc on СТРAННИК’s rally, devastating his t4's.
Finally, СТРAННИК raised his arm, signaling his forces to hold.
“Bezedash, you’ve surprised me,” he shouted. “A knight-minstrel who fights like a seasoned warrior. i respect a man who wields both blade and verse with such skill.”
“And i respect one who strikes with precision and honor,” i replied. “You do not waste your arrows, СТРAННИК, nor your words.”
СТРAННИК tilted his head, a thoughtful glint in his eye.
“But know this, Bezedash — i’ve only begun my work here. There’s more to come… a surprise i think you’ll enjoy.”
He turned, his forces retreating with him, leaving a silence in their wake. As i watched him disappear into the darkened horizon, i knew this wasn’t the end. The melody of our conflict lingered, unfinished, a song still to be written.
I turned to eyaka, my voice low as i nodded toward the retreating shadow.
“We’ve won this night, my friend, but it feels like only the beginning.”
He nodded, a wry smile crossing his face.
“ A ballad of a minstrel, written in fire perhaps, yet also a tale for a storyteller, etched in ashes.”
I looked to the battlefield, littered with the remnants of arrows, shields, and broken armor, and felt the familiar tug of a melody rise within me. As we made our way back to the castle, i let the words form, my voice soft but growing in strength, a ballad for the brave and the fallen.
With the melody lingering in the cold night air, i felt the weight of new challenges ahead, a story waiting to unfold. And somewhere in the distance, СТРAННИК’s words echoed back to me:
“A surprise i think you’ll enjoy.”
The chronicles of Bezedash, the knight-minstrel, was far from over.
