Hello, everyone! Mael from Server 243 here. As autumn brings in golden maple leaves, the developers have gifted us with Patch 2.7.4, releasing on October 17. This patch primarily focuses on quality-of-life improvements, but as always, even small changes can have larger impacts on gameplay strategies. Let's break down the patch and see how these changes may affect our approaches, with some insights and suggestions along the way.

Table of Contents

  1. Online Rewards Adjustment
  2. Mysterium Shop Updates
  3. Equipment Optimizations
  4. Assist Troops Update
  5. Legion of Frostborne New Optimizations
  6. Shop Interface Updates
  7. Bug Fixes (Seondeok Skill Change)
  8. Conclusion and Future Outlook

1. Online Rewards Adjustment

Details: SP (Stamina Points) and AP (Action Points) from online rewards are now doubled, along with additional bonuses like resources, speed-ups, Gems, and Philosopher's Stones.

Mael’s Opinion:

This is a great change for most players, especially those who rely on daily rewards to maintain their progress. However, while the increase in SP and AP is helpful, it still doesn’t fully solve the AP bottleneck that many players face during intense events like Illusion Battlefield or Seasonal Events. AP potions remain in high demand, and until we see adjustments in how those are distributed (perhaps through more in-game shops such as Golden Path Shop where it is already available), players will still feel constrained in how much they can do each day.

2. Mysterium Shop Updates

Details: Territorial Teleports and Heart of Norheim have been added to the Mysterium Shop.

Mael’s Opinion:

The addition of Territorial Teleports is a welcome change, particularly for players engaged in Frostborne or other large-scale events where mobility across the map is key. However, I doubt many players will spend their hard-earned Mysterium Points on Heart of Norheim since other sources already provide it. This feels more like a filler addition than a truly strategic one.

While the Mysterium Shop adds some convenience, players will likely focus more on other optimizations that impact core gameplay. Speaking of which, let’s look at the changes to equipment visibility.

3. Equipment Optimizations

Details: Equipment gem levels and their respective stats will now be displayed when tapping on equipment icons.

Mael’s Opinion:

For high-level players, especially those in Conquest Servers, this change adds clarity. Knowing the exact gem levels and stats during battle preparation is crucial when facing opponents who have min-maxed their builds. It’s a small, but valuable tweak, allowing more precise planning for both PvP and PvE.

4. Assist Troops Update

Details: Players can now quickly return assist troops to their Castle via a new interface, streamlining troop management during battles.

Mael’s Opinion:

This is one of the best quality-of-life improvements in this patch. During events like Illusion Battlefield or high-stakes battles in Frostborne, the ability to quickly return assist troops can mean the difference between winning and losing. Timing is everything in these dynamic events, and shaving off those precious seconds could lead to better coordination and quicker response times.

From faster troop management to faction coordination, let’s move on to the changes in Legion of Frostborne, where new rewards and access options could shift the dynamics of this key event.

5. Legion of Frostborne New Optimizations

Details: New Conquest Season-exclusive rewards like avatar frames and message boxes are added, and older rewards are now locked to earlier seasons. Players can also now view alliance lists by faction and quickly access the Legion interface during War Phases.

Mael’s Opinion:

For those who love collecting exclusive cosmetics, this is your chance to grab limited-time rewards before they’re gone. However, the most impactful change is the faction view feature. Being able to see which alliances belong to which faction helps with diplomacy and planning, especially in fast-paced events like Frostborne. This could lead to better strategic alliances, quicker decision-making, and ultimately more cohesive faction gameplay.

6. Shop Interface Updates

Details: The Well of Wisdom Shop now categorizes items more clearly, while the Golden Path Shop improves item ordering.

Mael’s Opinion:

This is a welcome change for shop navigators. Sorting the Ability Stones and Artifact Schematics makes it easier to find what you need, particularly during fast-paced shopping sprees before events. It would be nice if future updates also moved items already owned to the bottom of the list, further improving shopping efficiency.

Speaking of efficiency, let’s address one of the more controversial changes in this patch: Seondeok’s skill adjustment.

7. Bug Fixes (Seondeok Skill Change)

Details:Seondeok’s skill, Might of the Phoenix, now clearly states that only 4 explosions can trigger within 6 seconds.

Mael’s Opinion:

While this is labeled a skill description correction, it feels more like a stealth nerf. Limiting Seondeok’s procs will severely reduce her potential in Fire marches, which may push players to revert to Empress Wu or explore other alternatives. With Fire teams already lacking diversity, this change could negatively impact the Fire march meta, particularly for high-level players relying on critical-based strategies.

8. Conclusion and Future Outlook

In summary, while Patch 2.7.4 doesn’t introduce groundbreaking content, the quality-of-life changes it brings are designed to streamline gameplay and improve daily interactions. From the faster troop management system to clearer equipment stats and shop categories, these adjustments will likely enhance your overall gaming experience. However, the potential nerf to Seondeok remains a significant concern, especially for Fire march players.

Looking ahead, these small but impactful changes suggest that future patches may continue to refine gameplay while addressing community feedback. Stay tuned for what comes next!
