“The seeds of war are oft planted during times of peace”, the great George R.R. Martin taught us. So has it been for the war this Chronicler had the chance to be a part of.

It was a war like no other, marked by stealth, bloodbath, and betrayal as well, a war fought in council chambers and castle yards with knives and lies and poisonous promises followed by bloody sieges, burnt crops, and villages.

Long-simmering, the conflict burst into open when the 8 Factions of the Kingdom of the Dragon realized that to win the Dragon’s recognition they would need to conquer the throne of the Twin Dragon City.

In the North, we have Shadow led by RBG, and Lordsbane led by TWs while in the West, Tempest led by BC! and Scarlet led by Arm were preparing for battle. In the East, Ages led by N0X, and Longreach led by FRB were making their war plans while, in the South, where the most vicious battles took place, Justice led by UTB, and Frost led by LEG couldn’t see eye to eye and started fighting as soon as the dawn of the war was upon them.

Alliances and non-aggression pacts were signed even before the war horn was blown. As several sources confirmed, Tempest, the strongest Faction of the Kingdom of the Dragon, signed a truce with Shadow, the second strongest as several chronicles would later confirm, with Tempest being promised the coveted throne to the Twin Dragon City in exchange for their laid down arms.

The rest of the Factions were left to make their own alliances and although Justice proposed a temporary truce to Frost, the words fell on deaf ears. And that is how the bloodbath began…

Frost kept burning Villages, trying to gain more ground against Justice without considering the significant losses their Faction was registering. The war was going to be a long one and Justice wanted to make them see sense and tell them that if they kept at this pace, neither of them would have the chance to even get near the throne of the Twin City, but Frost wouldn’t hear them out. And so they battled...

Frost relied on strength while Justice, known for their peaceful manners, had to raise their weapons and face Frost at every step. We will later discover that Frost’s ill will was so deep that they even made a pact with Tempest to weaken Justice, but we will leave that for later.

The first major battle was held in the early days when Justice moved their troops on the S. Blessing city Frost was currently holding.

After a very long period of peace in the Kingdom of the Dragon, the armies while great in numbers and ready to draw blood, lacked the experience of war. So the war council in Justice had to set up strategies and use this first siege as a testing ground. The main goal was to make Frost see how costly petty fights are and hopefully agree to the temporary truce they’ve been offering since the start.

Justice didn’t win the battle, but the goal was achieved, Frost had so many losses that they agreed to sit down and talk. After hours of talks and Frost accusing Justice of trickery, Frost decided they can prevail against Justice even if Scarlet, the next eminent threat, will come down after them. And so the battles continued…

Justice advanced toward the Twin City while defending against Frost. They conquered City after City and a war hero was emerging.

Valiant and with one goal in mind, to prevail against any foe that would want to harm his Faction members, he charged forward cutting through his enemies. Chronicles would later describe him as fearless and relentless because even though he wasn’t the strongest, with his remarkable battle tactics and the Faction having his back, he proved once more that, in battle, discipline beats numbers nine times out of every ten.

On the Frost side, an Infantry fighter worth mentioning is wood lord.

This Chronicler has learned early on that he was not someone she could trifle with. His battle skills and determination made him a fighter to be avoided for single battles and had to be attacked in groups.

Justice showed Frost they were not easily struck down so Frost tried to get Tempest on their side. This proved to be an ill-made decision as Tempest fighters, even though they did accept the pact, soon decided to invade their home Kingdom.

Justice was gaining more ground with Frost weakened and their prospects of prevailing were looking good. Little did they know that on the East side, another force was preparing to take them down with Longreach gathering troops and war vehicles and marching towards them.

As different sources would confirm, Longreach also made a pact with the northern Shadow Faction. Longreach would give Shadow all their cities on the North side without resistance in exchange for their aid in the battles to come against Justice.

And that is how Justice would face an even stronger force than Frost in bloodier sieges and start losing the territories they fought so hard for.

The first such battle was held at the S.Industrial city where Longreach helped by Shadow tried to conquer the city. Justice managed to keep their ranks and fought against the foreign troops but they were even more outnumbered when Shadow’s allies, the Tempest faction, joined the battle as well. This battle is known as the bloodiest battle Justice had to face where they had to defend against 3 Factions at the same time.

As chance would have it or maybe the Old Gods looked upon the battle and saw the injustice of it, the 3 Factions couldn’t conquer the city and the battle resulted in a victorious defense for Justice.

Longreach and Shadow's sole focus from now on was the cities Justice occupied and while Justice managed to defend against them and still fight Frost at the same time, they slowly started to lose ground.

Little surprised was this Chronicler when, as one of the leaders of the Justice faction, she received a truce proposal from Frost claiming they were betrayed by Tempest and that we shouldn’t fight each other anymore. While the truce between the factions was what Justice tried to achieve since the war started, Frost came to their senses too late. Tempest and Shadow already occupied all the strategic cities with not much effort and Tempest’s seat on the throne was assured.

The bloody war was finally coming to an end. Tempest conquered the Twin City throne but this Chronicler would say that, even though Justice didn’t get the throne, they proved their merit and valued battle skills as they emerged as the Faction with the greatest number of eliminated enemy troops with Amanda receiving the well-deserved title as the God of War.

This was the first war of many more to come and Factions will again have to fight their way for the Twin City’s throne soon enough. With the gained war experience and strategies, I’m sure future wars will be even bloodier.

This Chronicler will make sure to take the pen and register every battle, pact, betrayal, and war hero that will surely emerge.
