BADGES - IMPORTANCE AND IMPROVEMENT

What are Badges?

Badges are a piece of equipment which can be equipped on the gear or armor to obtain some additional stats. Badges play a very important role when we start to fight other players or take part in any event like Siege of Winterfell, Alliance Conquest, Ultimate Conquest, KvK, Ultimate Tournament, etc because it helps improve the stats of our troops.

How to equip Badges?

Badges can be equipped on any gear but are mostly suitable for PvP (fighting) gear.

Select the gear item on which you wish to equip the badges. In total, you can equip 4 badges on a single item.

NOTE: Initially, you can only equip 3 badges on any item but once you finish under the research called “Badge Planning” inside “Refinement” treeline, an additional slot opens up. It is really helpful because 1 additional badge on all 8 gear items can really boost your stats.

Combining and Dismantling Badges

Badges can be upgraded from Common (Gray) to Legendary (Gold) quality. 4 lower quality badges can be clubbed together to upgrade them to high quality.

TIP: Instead of using 2 Gold badges and 6 lower quality badges (say Green or Blue), it is always better to use 8 Purple quality badges because the collective stat which we get this way is higher this way.

Mathematically, if we use 2 gold and 6 blue badges, we get (2*25) + (6*7.5) = 95% stats.

But if we use 8 purple badges instead, we get (8*15%) = 120% stats.

So, clearly using the best quality badge is not advisable in each scenario and therefore we must do the math beforehand to make the best decision.

However, in order to upgrade to a Legendary (Red) badge, we need an additional material called ‘Ancient Dust’, which can be obtained either through an event called “All Our War” or can be brought from the Shop by spending Black Diamonds.

The cost of ‘Ancient Dust varies, depending upon the type of badge you want to upgrade.

How to upgrade Badges?

It is extremely important to upgrade badges at a faster rate, as fast as possible. There are many ways to upgrade badges and most of them are well known and very common. But in this guide, I will tell you 1 more way which is not known to many players and I will also try to explain it in simpler words. So, let’s start looking at all the different ways to upgrade badges:

Method 1: Through Alliance Coins

It is one of the most common ways which is used by many players. Many players buy Badge Chests from their hard earned ‘alliance coins’. This method is often disappointing because many times we get loads of unwanted badges like ‘City Defense badges’!

I personally am not a fan of this method because it’s not easy to pile up Alliance coins, even if you are a part of a very active alliance where you can get 50 help clicks daily to obtain 40k alliance coins, it is still not easy to save alliance coins. And I’d personally recommend people to invest alliance coins in buying “Translocation scrolls” instead because once your account is ready to fight, you’d want to jump around and fight and it would require loads of scrolls. Buying Badge chests from alliance coins would later force you to spend Black Diamonds to buy Translocation scrolls, which again would be a bad choice.

Method 2: Through Event Rewards

There are many events nowadays which provide Badge chests as rewards. It is one of the best ways to improve your badges because you’re technically not spending anything at all to get these chests, you participate in the event and in return you can get loads of chests.

Our latest event “All Out War” gives away loads of Badge chests as rewards.

AOW gave away loads of Badge chests and there are some other events too which give away Badge chests and they are all great sources to improve our badges. In my opinion, never miss out on such opportunities.

Method 3: Through BADGE TRIPS

Now, let me introduce another method, which is not so common. Let us start…

Question: What exactly are Badge Trips?

Answer: Badge Trips can be considered somewhat similar to Merit Trips, just like we wish to get Merit from those trips, in badge trips, our focus is to get Badges.

Question: How do we do that and when do we jump to any other server? What are we exactly looking for?

Answer: We need to choose servers based on 2 factors: 1. Number of scrolls needed to jump to that server, 2. Which wheel will start on that server AFTER RESET! You need to target the “Battlefield” wheel shown below.

TIP: You can save the 7-colored diamonds from your current server/kingdom. Complete the tasks to gain these diamonds but don’t use them. Jump to another server because the wheel ends and that way, the stones would be saved in the inventory and you’ll be able to use them on the next kingdom.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you jump to a server where the wheel has already started, you won’t be able to participate in it! You will be able to complete tasks after the reset and gain ‘7-colored diamonds’ but won’t be able to use them. So be very careful when you jump to any server!

Question: How to choose Kingdoms for the jump?

Answer: This is the trickiest part. There are several things you need to do or keep in mind:

1. You need to identify the servers where your scroll cost is 1. If you spend more than 1 scroll for 1 jump, you will not be able to keep this up for long.

2. Communicate with the local alliances of that server and ask them to share the server’s Calendar and also ask and coordinate to understand when the badge wheel (Battlefield) starts there.

As you can see here, “Increase Power” event starts tomorrow at my current kingdom. So if someone wishes to take part in this wheel, he/she needs to jump to my server before reset. Once the wheel starts, they won’t be able to spin the wheel as I said above. So, you’d need wheels of lots of high power servers to draw a map. (Do not panic, I will help you out a bit more by the end, lol)

1. Once you have the above info, you need to understand the ‘schedule’ of your jumps. The best way to do so is:

Jump to a server after saving some colored diamonds → Use those diamonds there and also complete the “Battlefield” wheel and then wait for the next wheel to start and do the tasks to obtain those diamonds (but don’t use them) → Jump to the next server and do the same things!

Back in time, I personally used to do something like:

But now, many big teams have moved kingdoms and because of this the schedule is expected to change a lot! Also, the occurrence of wheel also has shifted a bit so that way

2. As you can see above, technically, you need max 3 big servers to jump between! It is often a big loop like:

Server 1 → Server 2 → Server 3 → Server 1

As teams keep changing servers, these servers might cost more and other servers might cost less with time!

Last updated in November 2025

Recently, a new badge has been added to the game called “Bowmen War Badge” which provides 2 buffs - Bowmen Attack and Bowmen Defense.

These badges can be redeemed from the 'Token Shop’ through Bravery Tokens and Battle Tokens which can be obtained from various events such as:

  • War of the Kingdoms (KvK)
  • Glorious Battle (GB)
  • Champion City Siege (CCS)

Just like all the other badges, these badges can be combined to upgrade to give higher stats. In order to obtain 1 red badge, you need 4 Gold Bowmen War Badges and 20 Ancient Dusts.

At max level, a Bowmen War gives 25% Bowmen Attack and 28% Bowmen Defense.

With all the recent changes being made to the game and many new commanders such as Missandei and Cossomo being introduced, bows are again becoming more and more stronger and therefore, these badges become a lot more significant and important.

This guide is based on the author's personal experience in game and with the currently available commanders!
