Hello everyone, it is me once again with another fresh story from GoTWiC world, full of battles in an exciting event which is Arena of Honor. It is one of my favourite events because you can get good rewards for great fun. Recently Arena was updated, I am not really a fan of this update, but I trust devs as they had bigger picture behind it, so with pleasure, I am inviting you with me to this journey!

Team selection

It was a beautiful day, and I had nothing to do, it was one of those unique moments in the recent time where I did not have any travels booked, or work scheduled, and I could just chill and relax. I have thought then to log in on the game, and see how my pals in FFS are doing? Well I don’t have to check on them, they always are doing good, they are one of the strongest I know within the game!

But hey, how about me, I have to constantly improve – I was thinking – so I have decided to log in and check all the events that are being offered, as gotwic is known for offering various options, so you don’t need to complain as there is nothing happening.

Upon my arrival, I have noticed Arena of honor is open, so without a hesitation I dropped message on our clan chat and discord, if anyone is looking to form a team for the afternoon challenge. Few minutes after I have received message both in the game and discord, which made me very happy knowing my colleagues are willing to participate with me. While on discord it was one of my colleagues KORGEI stating that is also looking for a team, within the game, I have received invite from Savada, great warrior, one of rally leaders, part of NFI which merged with WTF to create FFS. I have joined the team and soon enough more and more FFS have been joining. That is where I got a bit shocked and confused, as YES REAL joined the event, and he was with a tag of FFS! How?! I kept asking myself, I have never seen him in our clan, but hey, that only means we are gathering strong players for the future events, and that is definitely a positive message!

Our team was stacked up with great warriors but definitely YES REAL which is known merit hunter and Savada as one of the top brains within old NFI, were the ones who would lead us towards the victory, even if in the team were players like KORGEI or Woodd which used to also be rally lead in FFS, currently representing other alliance.

I was confident, and satisfied, that this must be a good game.

Our opponents and the strategy

When we first entered, we were clueless, only idea we had was to take 800k of both infs and cav’s, and rest our main troops. Open for adventure, but unknown adventure I must say, we have entered the mighty arena where all the great warriors were standing. On the one side, we had mighty family of FDH represented by truly remarkable bowman, which fame almost reaches the fame of Robin Hood, he was called Steel. Warrior which armor was almost unbreakable, and arrows could cut any metal like a sharp knife in the butter. Second outstanding player within this family was definitely General Dan, who can be known from older battles, with WTP or WxC. General Dan was also helping us back in the time when I was representing DUM. Known warrior, been here a while!

None of those could face Savada or YES REAL, but they were definitely a great threat considering there are also other families, who can hit us at the same time!

On the other side were representatives of collaboration between HOH and HD! Families. Both teams represent high level, and in every alliance event are in top10. HOH used to be the top side, yet since they have lost GROMBOLD, it is not the same. In this battle they were representing by JackTheToad which is not one of the OG’s of the team, but still, representing such great family, means they must be brave and deadly.

Our strategy was decided upon seeying our enemies, we decided to go in to the army camps. You might ask why? Bit risky? Well since last update that I mentioned before, there are also ‘AI’ teams, which allow us, real players, easily take over their castles and gain additional camps, so that was our plan, that is what we were about to focus on.

Lets get ready to rumble!

Objective was clear, take the camps, then focus on securing AI castle, followed by couple of maiden altars and dragon pits, with main focus on the Glory City. As we planned, is how we were executing our ideas. Firstly we took the camps and changed them to the cav camps. Our castle was taken over by one of the friends of Woodd which came along with him. Once the camps were taken, we reinforced them to upgrade them quickly to the level 3 and gain maximum profit out of them.

This is when the show starts, as with the first troops we have managed to take over castle on the right from us, and immediately we have reinforced it, as we knew how many points it will give us. Same did our enemies, so don’t be fooled as it was just us with such a genius plan. Immediately after we secured the castle, we started to solo the camps, and then flip them to trading camps, so they generate us points. Everything was going great so far, no issues. We did not even need to focus on any rallies as there was nothing to fight for at the time. Game was pretty peaceful.

And as you might expect, when people were relaxed, that is when enemy felt us at our weakest state, so decided to hit, hoping for good result but… Well see for yourself!

Savada got crushed! That was not a great start for our journey, one of our strongest crushed just like that? No way! We had to take responsibility of our team and step up! Everyone said lets hit enemies back, and that is where he stepped in front and formed a rally, YES REAL was ready to battle!

Whilst on one side we kept fighting along strong shoulder of YES REAL, Savada said it is not her last word, and wanted to show that the first battle was just an misunderstanding. Time to show off the real power! We kept fighting for altars, 1-2 battles at the time, and rest were reconstructing the camps at the AI castle. This tactic worked as we were top in points. To keep this advantage, we had to do one more thing, and that was to secure City of Glory to get the ultimate maximum points. We were ready, enemy did not expect what was coming from our camp. Even FDH took over the City of Glory, we formed 2 rallies one with YES REAL, second with Savada, and sent them to hit enemy where it hurts the most.

After the city of glory was taken over by our forces, enemy was not giving up, Steel is known from being stubborn, and seems General Dan was not backing up from supporting him in his efforts.

The troops kept incoming from both sides, but we were strong holding inside without a scratch. Anytime we were losing few troops, we would reinforce, to ensure enemy has 0 chances to take over the castle. We were organized, it was not our first time!

As soon the timer was approaching to 0 and we were about to protect the city of glory, yellow hit us with the final blow, and kicked us out. Yes, we lost in the worst possible way, 3 seconds before securing it. The timer has reset, and once again we had to fight for it.

Obviously it wont be a surprise that we have taken it over minutes after, and kept defending it again, while enemies kept incoming. Very repetitive situation, but we had to deal with it, like a real team.

While Yellow was recharging, the other family has woken up, 4 strong attacks, where some did more damage, some less, but we managed to survive them all. We were waiting for the final blow from yellow, which was our be or not to be, in the glory city.

The hit has came, and we lost, but we did not lost enough, to lose the castle, and we managed to secure it. It was very exciting moment for us as we pretty much knew, that we will have 1^st spot. Great job team! We had now 5 minutes of recharging while city of glory was protected, to then send troops once again and defend it till the end of the game. Those 5 minutes passed really quickly as we focused on mines, just before it opened once again, we noticed timer is about to finish, and in chaotic way we started to send reinforces. Enemy was quick with the rally, did not hesitate. Cut us very deeply.

But our nasty leaders did not have enough, even we managed to win this event, we still wanted to show off our power, and recapture the city of glory, lets do it!

Double rally hit Steel like a lightening and he had to pack his stuff and go back to mom’s house. It was ours again, like it should be.

Following that enemy had couple of attempts to the throne yet each time we were telling them to play somewhere else, with their toys, as here are adults only, who do not second guess them self when it comes to the battles.

Result

We have won, we were 1^st, we achieved what we deserved and planned to achieve. Great teamwork and cruel leadership, made us cut enemy troops like it would be everyday thing for us. Well maybe it is everyday thing for us, considering how many fights we encountered.

Little lesson for today, ensure to have open eyes, and open mindset, be able to adjust your gameplay, do not always approach the event with same boring strategy. Be innovative, and become a winner.
