📖The breath of a war foretold

In Kingdom 442, the map was never set. When borders took on the warm hues of flames, shifting with silent betrayals or lightning charges against sleeping enemies, war and strategy were the only things that ensured lasting diplomacy. Decisions left their mark, attacks left their mark on the body of the adversary or one's own side in this bloody history of warfare.

One should have imagined it; the distinctive sound of the steelworks in the Northern Kingdom was partly to blame. The season was one of alliances superimposed on last year's. A mixture of anxiety and anticipation throbbed across these lands. Alliances sized each other up, weighed each other, calculated. Behind the walls, the forges churned, scouts never returned, and generals sharpened their plans as sharply as their blades.

It was in this tense atmosphere that the RRH alliance began to circulate more insistently. An alliance spoken in hushed tones, sometimes with contempt, sometimes with fear. Facing them was 1SS.

They would soon discover that the kingdom spared no one.

NO REAL was known to be a meticulous and thoughtful infantry player within the RRH alliance. Around him, his teammates resembled swift cavalry or destructive siege engine gunners, while NO REAL strove to train strong, but advanced armies whenever the opportunity allowed, mingling with the enemy in combat.

The armies assigned to him were not sent lightly, each man having a precise role within the wave of each assault, with a detested will of overly assertive belligerence, but aimed at testing, cracking, then breaking, according to veterans, all of NO REAL's attacks were like a coastal tide; first sneaky, then unstoppable.

Adalwolf777, a member of the 1SS alliance, was known for his power: his strong walls, well-stocked towers, and numerous armies. Convinced that sheer numbers were the best weapon, he had almost never suffered a significant defeat.

In his castle, talking banners fluttered in the wind, their confidence almost insolent, while scouts reported a possible offensive. After all, how many before him had failed where he had always remained unscathed?

⚔️ First Attack - The Clatter of Dawn

When the first movements of NO REAL's units began, dawn had not yet fully broken. The low-angled light cast long shadows on the ground, making the army seem almost unreal. No shouts, no shrill noises. Everything was orderly.

When the first defensive projectiles from Aoalwolf777 emerged from the walls, the enemy had finally been identified. The archers fired rapidly to try and slow the advance. Shields absorbed the blows, ranks closed. The infantry marched: they advanced slowly but surely, delivering a powerful impact.

At the foot of the walls, the nature of the battle changed. Closer to hand-to-hand combat, brutality. The defenders attempted swift but ultimately unsuccessful sorties, breaking through the formations, but it was difficult to penetrate such a rigid front, so unyielding was the formation. The NO REAL battalions sometimes bent but did not break.

The battering rams pounded relentlessly on the gates. Each blow was a warning. The mere thought of the structure finally being breached was met with dust and splinters of wood. The defenders retreated, something they no longer expected.

This first battle resulted in heavy losses and a new sense of unease. The fortress had held, certainly, but the mark of its impregnability had just taken a small step backward.

⚔️ Second Attack - The Spiral

The second assault was launched before the first wound could receive medical attention. Relief efforts had been rushed. The troops had been redeployed without having had the time or opportunity to rest. NO REAL, on the other hand, arrived with a perfectly integrated plan.

The attack would unfold on several fronts. The gates had to be relentlessly hammered, the defenders kept busy with secondary attacks to prevent them from scattering their forces. Their lines were stretched to try to cover every possible attack.

The fighting raged right into the heart of the castle. The chaos was evident in the narrow streets, taut with the fighting. Every corner could prove a trap, every step forward fraught with risk. The defenders fought on, but the exhaustion was palpable, undeniable.

NO REAL wasn't looking for a breakthrough. They let the battle drag on, wearing down the enemy. The losses came slowly, insidiously. Each minute added to the pain of a battle that seemed endless.

This defeat mattered. The numbers were grim. Power was waning, and with it, confidence. Doubt was taking hold, imperceptibly but surely.

⚔️ Third Attack - The Abyss

The third offensive unfolded with unprecedented energy. The war machine pounded the fort relentlessly, the already crumbling walls trembling under the blows. The rising dust obscured the view.

The defenders prepared for the final battle. Orders flew in a flurry of fighting enthusiasm, sometimes contradictory. The tension was palpable. Each side knew that this clash of steel could very well seal the fort's fate.

As NO REAL's infantry charged into contact, confusion reigned supreme. The lines crossed, dissolved, reformed. Shouts drowned out the clash of weapons. Losses piled up on the stockpiles of corpses.

Hopes for counterattacks persisted, but to no avail. Each new fragment of life disrupted the cadence, so quickly brought under control. Attrition was taking its toll.

This figure was staggering. The enormity of such a defeat. The fortress still held, certainly, but a part of its lifeblood had been lost.

⚔️ Fourth Attack - The Inevitable

At the start of the fourth attack, a heavy, almost resigned atmosphere prevailed. Adalwolf777's castle still bore the marks of the previous assaults. The ramparts were holding, certainly, but appeared worn, as did the troops defending them. The men were few in number, the ranks had suffered, but everyone knew that the battle would be decided here.

NO REAL launched the assault calmly and methodically. The infantry advanced slowly across the ground already chipped away during the previous assaults. The defenders were also putting up a valiant fight, combining heavy fire with well-timed counterattacks to buy time and hope for a mistake.

The fighting was slowly intensifying. Within the castle, every sector became a point of resistance. The defenders held firm, unwilling to give way too quickly or too far, making excellent use of every corner of each wall and every entrenchment. At times, it seemed that NO REAL was struggling to advance, that it was a nascent balance.

But the counter-pressure was constant. Losses mounted among the defenders, with more and more units falling, making the defenses increasingly fragile and chaotic. Retreats became shorter and shorter, increasingly confused. It was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the objective.

The last entrenchment gradually crumbled. The final bastions were quickly overwhelmed, not by panic, but by utter exhaustion. By abandoning the game in this way, the battle, written in advance, did not surrender with the same brilliance as the others before it.

When calm returned, the castle still held, certainly, but deprived of its legitimate function. The fourth attack would definitively seal the fate of this conflict.

📜 Conclusion - The Mark Left on Realm 442

The attacks launched against Adalwolf777 were not a few isolated battles. Rather, they were a succession, patiently and consistently applied, of layers of pressure that slowly transformed a seemingly impervious fortress into a weakened force. Each battle was an additional, increasing pressure, gradually diminishing until the resistance was finally overcome.

On Realm 442, these battles served as a reminder of a reality that many easily forget: sheer power never guarantees victory. Strategy, timing, and the intensity of the pressure always make the difference. NO REAL not only achieved quantifiable victories but also established a method.

In the days that followed, news of this battle circulated among the alliances, serving as a reminder to some and a lesson to others. All understood that these battles would leave a lasting mark on the kingdom's history.

The name NO REAL is thus associated with this series of battles, like that of a commander who knew how to make patience a weapon. And on Kingdom 442, this war became a benchmark, emphasizing that even the strongest positions can crumble under measured pressure.
