Companion Graphics when upgrading

I'm having problems with the game when I want to upgrade (certain) companions.

The game starts to freeze (count to 99%) when selecting a companion to upgrade, happens a lot with "Little Mummy". The "99% count" seems to get triggered while the companion-graphics appears. See screen below for the result. Canceling the notice sometimes allows me to continue, sometimes a refresh is needed. With a chance of the same problem to get repeated.
