F2P-Friendly Skin!!

Hello IK World! Elphaba here with great news!! For the first time in ages, we have an event offering a great looking castle skin with full 3% stats that it's possible to get without spending a single dollar. The Summer Carnival that started at reset today can be totally cash-free if you have gems saved up and put in time to do all the daily missions, adventures, and treasure hunting tasks. I'm so very excited and hope this article will help you understand what it will take to complete the summer party to earn this great skin along with a lot of other goodies along the way.

Check out that pretty rainbow and oh so cool sun! The Oceanic Heatwave skin is the final reward on the Summer Party tab after unlocking the second column with 3500 gems and feeding the fire enough firewood to complete all 40 levels.

Even if you do every daily task and refresh to complete adventures often, you will probably need to use more than 3500 gems to go the distance for that skin. You will likely need to get at least some of these packs, which refresh daily during the event, to finish all 40 levels.

But if you've got gems saved up, spend them! Full 3% stat skins usually cost $100; it's super rare to have the opportunity to unlock one just with gems and effort, not to mention a lot of the skins are kind of lack-luster in appearance, whereas this one is quite snazzy. Plus there are tons of other goodies in every level of the Summer Party, including 2500 gems, dragon essence, alchemy stones, a chat box, speedups, resources, AP/SP, philosopher stones, and artifact fragments.

As for those adventures, do note that the Challenge Task camps in the adventures tab are much harder in this event than similar events of the past. On my younger, 225k STP T5 castle, I needed to rally the level 40 camps with at least one other player to beat them and took 1500 deads per rally. Also, the person who joins the rally gets no rewards but still has to spend AP. So, i recommend using your alts to join your rallies, or arrange with one person to join each other's event rallies to make the AP cost more fair. On my older 272k STP half-t6 castle, I only took 400 deads beating them solo.

The Challenge Task adventures are your best bet for quick firewood. When you expect to be offline a while, load up on the Active Task adventures . When doing the Active Task adventures, always start the high star missions first to ensure you have the right immortals for those as priority over lower star options.

Higher stars will give higher amounts of firewood. But pay attention to the time to complete on those Active Task adventures. It won't be more firewood if you accept a six-star option that requires 8 hours to complete if you're not going to be away from the game most of those 8 hours.

If you have the gems to do so, go for more Challenge missions to get firewood quickly and refresh to get more Active tasks before going to bed or work. Though, in my experience, the odds of getting a different type of adventure or a different star level is better when several slots are open and very low when only 1-2 slots are open.

And lastly, remember to open the Summer Chests that you'll find in the "other" tab of your pack, which roll in when doing gnomes/bosses, collecting resources inside your castle, or when gathers return. They not only contain event firewood, but also give resources and speedups. Yay!

In conclusion, this event is a rare opportunity to get a great castle skin plus lots of other goodies—spending only gems and effort—that you should definitely not pass up!
