ToS Betting & Missions Guide

Greetings IK world! Press officer Elphaba here again--this time to share tips for betting and missions in Throne of the Supreme (ToS).

Now, as a contestant, I'm not a big fan of ToS. The matchups are so imbalanced for the first 90% of the contest that it's laughable calling it a contest at all. Kind of demoralizing to have zero chance against your opponent repeatedly and wash out quick.

But the missions, betting, and store for this 100% free event are so easy to do, and you can really clean up big on rare items in the store.

Round 1 of the Inter-Regional Group Match just started today, and I have characters on two servers in this stage, though they are both matched against opponents far beyond my level--so much so that I'm betting against myself, LOL. At least it's someone in my own alliance that will kick my butt!

Try to ignore the terrible mismatching, focus on the rewards, and pledge to dedicate 5-10 minutes a day maximizing your store credits through missions and betting.

STEP 1: Turn off the annoying scrolling comments. They will distract you and make it hard to see what you need to. If only turning them off was permanent! But you'll have to turn it off every time you come back to the ToS screen 😭.

STEP 2: Click the "Shop" icon to see how many Glory Coins and Lucky Amulets you're starting out with and scroll to the bottom to see which of the rare items you want to get when they unlock toward the end of ToS. Those immortal-specific schematics should be top of your wish list since there's no other way to get them currently but this event here (Saber of Eternity for Peter, Goddess' Waist Belt for Hippolyta, The Eternal Serpent for Cleopatra). To get the 60 fragments needed to fuse a full schematic for any one of these will require 9000 coins, or 27000 coins for all three artifacts.

Step 3: Click the "Event" icon to see today's missions as well as the Stage Missions. You want to make sure you do every single one of these for the base coins with which you will place bets. Except for the "buy items in the shop" missions, which you should only do AFTER betting, you want to do any/all other missions you can BEFORE betting so you have more coins with which to bet.

Here are some mission-specific tips:

• You can click hearts like mad to complete not just the daily mission for following matches but also complete all the stage missions for it too. Remember to scroll to the bottom of the group listing so you don't miss matches.
• You are not limited to the featured matches that clicking on a "watch match" mission will take you to. You can click any contestant's avatar, and then choose the earlier stage tab to watch previous matches. It won't give you credit for rewatching a match, so make sure each one you pick is unique. Oh, and you can click skip battles soon after the replay starts and still get credit.
• When you do make purchases for missions: (1) A mission that says 20 items will only give you credit for one if you buy 20 of the same item with a single click. Instead, buy it individually 20 times. (2) Converting Lucky Amulets to Glory Coins counts as a purchase but doesn't use up what you need to be saving up for those items that won't unlock for a while. Lucky Amulets are what you use for betting. Glory Coins are what you use to buy shop items. To ensure you have maximum Lucky Amulets available for betting, bet first, buy after, and only buy enough to complete the missions.

STEP 4: Click the Lucky Guess tab on the Event screen and swipe the "Scratch Off" until the free goodies appear.

STEP 5: Click one of the three "Go To" sections to see the betting options. I recommend always choosing the maximum number of picks for the maximum possible rewards. Right now, that means "Choose any 4". I also recommend scrolling through every group in the drop-down menu to find the groups with at least one or two closer matches. Closer matches have a higher value for the person you will probably choose as the clear winner, and that means more coins for you when they win. Here's a couple of examples:

All four of the matches in the above group are extremely imbalanced. The person with a x5.00 multiplier has that high of a multiplier because it's pretty certain they're going to lose. And even that one x3.35 multiplier is pretty bad and unlikely to win. Sure, you could bet on their opponents that all have low multipliers because they are almost certainly going to win. But low multiplier means low winnings.

Now, the group below has matches that are a lot closer, and that makes the lower multiplier in each pair higher than they were in the previous group. The lower multiplier means they are likely to win. But having it be not quite so low means you'll make more on your bet.

So, let's see the effect on betting the lower multiplier (the surer win) as a pick 4 on Group A. The base cost is 10 tickets with a base potential reward of 48, and if you add the maximum guess multiplier of 9, which makes the bet cost 90 tickets, the estimated reward is 419. Not bad.

But what happens when you do the same thing with Group B that has the higher low multipliers? The base cost is still 10 tickets, but the base potential reward is 53, and if you add the maximum guess multiplier of 9, which makes the bet cost 90 tickets, the estimated reward is 483. And that's 64 higher than the 419 potential of Group A.

One thing to not get thrown by is when people lower the power of their march at reset to appear weak during betting when they are anything but. The multipliers beside each player are your best indicator of the true relationship between the contestants. And if there is any doubt, click their avatar and look at their prior match details.

Chances are, even if you do all the missions possible to do on day 1, you won't have 270 tickets to max bet all three lotteries on day 1. This is why you want to note how many Lucky Amulets you have available before betting, so you don't run out before completing all three lotteries. I only have 120, so I will only use a guess multiplier of 4 on each of my three lotteries this first day.

Speaking of chances, if the matchup is very close, and you look at the teams both players have run in their prior battles and the statistically weaker person looks more likely to win, do take the chance and bet on the one you think will win, even if the multipliers indicate they will lose. If you're right, and they win as the underdog, your winnings will be very high.

Be sure you do your bets and missions between 0000-1200 UTC each day. After 1200 UTC, betting will close. You can do your scratch off and missions unrelated to betting, but you will miss out on a lot of potential winnings missing a day.

In conclusion, don't procrastinate and miss the betting window. Bet on groups with closer matches while still choosing the stronger players to maximize your rewards while maintaining low risk of loss. Bet on the highest pick amount for each lottery. Use the max guessing multiplier whenever you can, but be careful not to run out of Lucky Amulets before finishing all three lotteries. Only purchase when there is a mission, purchase one item at a time rather than batches, and only purchase Glory Coins until the rare rewards unlock toward the end of ToS.
