The Night King’s Arrival in K31

In recent days, the north of Westeros had been slowly blanketed by increasingly thick and icy snow, colder than usual. Gusts of wind and an unpleasant odor swept down from the mountains, carrying small white swirls that erased paths and footprints in their wake, while a heavy, gray sky seemed to have come to a standstill over Winterfell. However, it wasn’t just winter that unsettled those who lived in those lands. There was something different about that cold—a sensation hard to explain that seemed to penetrate the walls and seep beneath their armor. It was as if the North itself were trying to warn them that something terrible was approaching

For some time, rumors of events beyond the Wall had become reality, and the wind carried with it the scent of war and death.

Then what had seemed impossible for generations finally happened.

The Wall fell.

The massive barrier that had long separated the kingdoms of men from the horrors of the north had finally given way, clearing the path for what lay waiting on the other side… The White Walkers began to invade the lands of Westeros, spreading across the north of Winterfell near Castle Black.

The few members of the Night’s Watch who still remained there tried to hold them back, but they quickly realized that this was not a battle they could win on their own. Some were defeated and joined the army of the dead… the rest ended up joining the rallies organized by the strongest warriors from the kingdom’s various alliances. The first hordes began arriving via Nuevo Agasajo.

But the K31 kingdom was waiting for them.

In the days leading up to this, the alliances had prepared their troops and organized their plans, knowing that those Walkers were merely the vanguard of something far worse. The attacks began immediately. Some warriors confronted them head-on, while others joined forces in coordinated assaults to weaken them more quickly.

We had to eliminate as many as possible, because the real enemy would be coming right behind them.

The Night King.

Just the thought of that shadowy figure with icy eyes stirred an uneasy feeling even among the most seasoned warriors. The true horror lay in knowing that those who fell before him might end up returning as part of his own army—an army that seemed to grow as it advanced.

For SCEPAL, that battle would also hold special significance. He had fought against that threat before, but this would be the first time he would face the Night King in a new realm and as part of a much more powerful alliance, with different rules and players capable of inflicting enormous damage in just a few minutes.

As he watched the others’ movements, an idea crossed his mind.

-Everything is going to happen much faster here. If I want to be ready when the time comes, I can't let myself get distracted - he thought.

Before facing the King, he had to deal with his generals, because eliminating each one would help weaken him before his arrival.

SCEPAL then decided to head toward one of the rallies organized by The Sickness. He had already observed his fighting style and knew he was one of those players capable of inflicting a massive number of casualties on the White Walkers with every strike.

The troops began to gather at the rally points.

There weren't too many of them, but they soon proved that a crowd wasn't necessary either. The attacks began to wear down the first general they targeted, and after several hits, they finally managed to take him down.

There wasn't much time to savor that first victory.

The next goal would be General 11.

He was quite far from his positions, which meant he had to carefully calculate every move.

Those generals were incredibly powerful, and attacking from a distance allowed him to maintain the protection of the bubble. Losing it unnecessarily could become a much bigger problem than the army of the dead itself.

SCEPAL knew this… yet, in the midst of one of his moves, he made a mistake.

As he jumped to change locations, he appeared in the Barren Lands.

For a few moments, she was exposed.

Her first reaction wasn’t to think of the White Walkers, but of something possibly much more immediate: the fear that some opportunistic invader might spot her unprotected and take advantage of those seconds to attack her.

She wasted no time. She changed her position again and managed to protect herself before anything could happen.

Only then was she able to refocus on her objective.

The attacks on General 11 continued until it, too, finally fell.

It didn't take long for The Sickness to begin preparations for another rally, this time against General 27, who was looming menacingly near the spot where they had eliminated the previous one.

They had to take advantage of every opportunity.

The king was getting closer and closer.

However, General 27's position was not ideal, so they decided to switch their target to General 24.

SCEPAL prepared itself for another long battle, but as soon as the attacks began, that general fell much faster than expected.

Almost faster than you can say “in the blink of an eye.”

That allowed us to move immediately on to the next target: General 6, located near other generals that were still active.

The attacks continued throughout much of the day. And not just there. All across Westeros, forces could be seen moving toward various targets as the alliances sought to destroy as many White Walkers and generals as possible before the final battle.

When she finally decided to stop, SCEPAL checked her position in the rankings. She had racked up enough kills to leave her more than satisfied and felt she had more than fulfilled her mission for that first phase.

Now came the hardest part: defeating the King as soon as he appeared.

For two days, that threat hung over Westeros.

The snow-capped mountains seemed darker, and the wind continued to sweep down from them with a deep sound that at times sounded like a roar. Until, finally, that silence was broken.

The Night King had arrived.

He appeared near Winterfell, and within seconds the entire kingdom seemed to react all at once.

SCEPAL watched that menacing figure as troop movements began to multiply all around him. They had been waiting for this moment for days, and now there was no room to back down or show cowardice.

Some members of his alliance immediately launched individual attacks, while others joined in group assaults. The boldest among them even positioned themselves practically right next to the King to minimize the time between each attack—even though this left them vulnerable to any counterattack.

SCEPAL initially chose to stay in his bubble with some of his teammates.

It was a race against time.

Everyone knew that the grand prize would go to the alliance or kingdom capable of defeating the King before the others did.

Covya began organizing cavalry rallies.

SCEPAL managed to join one of them and sent in its troops, but a new problem soon arose: everyone wanted to participate, and the rallies were filling up at an astonishing rate; often, by the time SCEPAL tried to join, there was no room left.

Waiting meant missing out on hits.

And missing out on hits meant missing out on damage.

“I’m not going to just stand by and watch the others take him down,” thought SCEPAL.

So he changed his mind and began attacking on his own.

Her troops would march toward the King, engage him, and return, while she immediately prepared the next offensive—always with her spears. When she found an opening in one of the rallies, she would join in; when she couldn't, she would attack again on her own.

And so it went, over and over again…

Meanwhile, more and more players were gathering around the Night King. Caravans were constantly crossing the snowy terrain, and no sooner had some returned than others were already setting out.

The King fought back with all his might, but one thing was becoming increasingly clear.

He couldn’t recover.

Every time he seemed to withstand one blow, he immediately received another. Attacks came from all sides, and his resistance was beginning to wane.

SCEPAL closely monitored his every move.

She knew from experience that the final moments were the most dangerous.

On other occasions, something frustrating had happened to her: her troops would return, she would start to replenish them, and, right in those few seconds, another player would manage to deliver the final blow.

This time, she was determined not to let that happen.

This time, she was going to keep attacking until the very last second, and so she began to carefully time her moves.

Send troops and wait for a hit—

Restock, heal, and send them back out immediately.

The King continued to lose strength.

SCEPAL barely paid attention to his own ranking. There would be time to check it later. Right now, the only thing that mattered was to keep striking.

The pace became frantic.

Every time his troops returned, he had to immediately prepare another attack. All around him, the other warriors were doing exactly the same thing. Covya’s rallies kept coming, individual attacks multiplied, and those who had positioned themselves alongside the King struck almost without pause.

There was less and less left each time.

In the final moments, the tension became unbearable. No one knew exactly which of all those moves would land the final blow.

Until it finally happened.

The Night King fell.

For a moment, after so many attacks and simultaneous moves, everything seemed strangely still.

It had taken them only 22 minutes and 26 seconds to defeat him.

Tholking had managed to become the great hero of that battle by delivering the final blow.

SCEPAL felt all the tension that had built up over those minutes suddenly melt away. She had managed to keep attacking practically until the very end, and this time the King hadn’t fallen while she was distracted replenishing her troops.

But there was still one thing he hadn't checked yet.

His ranking.

When he finally opened it, he had to look twice.

10th place.

SCEPAL stared at the screen with a mixture of surprise and satisfaction.

He hadn't expected to be so high up.

But shortly afterward, the ranking was updated again.

Eighth place.

“Eighth? That’s right there!” he murmured, almost unable to believe it.

In that new realm, surrounded by extremely strong players and as part of an alliance far more powerful than any she had fought in before, SCEPAL had achieved one of her highest damage scores against the Night King to date.

For a few moments, she stopped thinking about the attacks, the lost troops, the rallies she hadn't managed to join, or that mistake that had left her exposed in the Barren Lands just hours earlier.

She looked out over the land once more.

Snow continued to fall over the north of Westeros as if nothing had happened. The mountains stood still, and the troops were slowly beginning to return to their cities.

Two days earlier, they had been expecting the arrival of an enemy capable of filling the entire north with the dead.

Twenty-two minutes and twenty-six seconds after it appeared, that enemy was no more.

Tholking took the credit for delivering the final blow, but behind that victory lay hundreds of attacks, rallies, marches, and warriors who had refused to give the King even the slightest chance to regain his strength.

And among them all had been SCEPAL.

Not as a mere spectator.

Not as someone who had arrived late to the battle.

SCEPAL smiled as she gazed one last time at those snow-covered lands.

She had arrived in a new kingdom, wondering what place she might hold among far more powerful players.

That night, she had found part of the answer.

And as the wind swept through the mountains of Winterfell once more, one final thought crossed her mind:

If this kingdom was capable of bringing down the Night King in just over twenty-two minutes, then she wanted to be there to find out just how far they could go together.
