Hello everyone, it’s KiNGSLAyER again with another hunt story from today.

Today’s hunt started with a slightly different goal than usual. I had been looking for a good target for quite some time because I wanted to test my new commander Vorian in my infantry bleeding lineup. I had recently added him to the setup and was curious to see how he would perform in a real hunt against a decent castle. I did not want to test him against a random small target, so I kept searching for something where I could really get some useful reports from the attacks.

After looking around for a while without finding anything that really caught my attention, I finally got a message in the NpW alliance chat. Lady L0ry posted coordinates for a large castle called Vidar1 from sDT alliance on K 274. The castle had around 1.7 billion power, so it immediately looked like a much more interesting target for testing Vorian. There was only one small problem for Lady L0ry she would have needed too many scrolls to get there herself.

Luckily, I had a much smaller castle available that only needed one scroll for the jump. That meant I could take the opportunity and go for the target myself. Of course, I was very happy when I saw that. I had been searching for a target for a long time, and suddenly the right situation appeared in front of me. I was already prepared in war gear and had all my buffs active, so there was nothing left to prepare. I just needed to scout Vidar1 and see what was waiting inside.

I sent my scout over and waited for the report. When it came back, I immediately started looking through the details. Vidar1 had around 10 million T4 troops, with mixed troop types and mixed commanders on the wall. What made the target even more interesting was the fact that there was no combat gear equipped. For me, this was exactly the kind of report I had been looking for. The castle was large enough to give me useful information about Vorian, but the setup did not look like something I needed to overthink.

I checked the report one more time, looked at the troops and commanders, and then made my decision. I would solo Vidar1 with my infantry bleeding lineup and use Vorian as part of the setup. This was the reason I had been searching for a target in the first place, so there was no point in waiting any longer. I jumped over, prepared the attack and went straight into the first hit.

The first report was already interesting because I could finally see how Vorian performed in a real situation. I always like to study my reports instead of simply looking at whether an attack worked or not. Small differences in the results can tell you a lot about a new commander and whether he fits properly into your lineup. After the first attack, I had a much better idea of what I was working with.

Vidar1 was still not at zero, so I went in again. The castle had a large troop amount from the beginning, and I expected that it would take more than one attack to finish. The second report gave me another chance to look at Vorian and compare the results with what I normally expect from my infantry setup. Everything was going in the right direction, and I was already becoming more confident with my new commander.

For the third attack, I sent the same line up again and waited for the final report. This time, the remaining troops were handled and Vidar1 reached zero after three attacks. The actual hunt had been very straightforward, but for me the more important part came afterwards. I went back through all three reports and started looking at the details of each attack.

That was probably my favorite part of the whole hunt. I had been searching for a target specifically because I wanted to see what Vorian could do in my infantry bleeding lineup, and now I finally had three proper reports to study. The results made me happy, especially because the setup felt natural and my new commander gave me exactly the kind of performance I was hoping to see.

Looking back, the hunt was a good example of why I enjoy searching for targets instead of simply jumping on the first castle I find. Sometimes you can spend a long time looking without finding anything useful, and then one message in alliance chat changes the whole situation. Lady L0ry finding Vidar1, needing too many scrolls to reach it, and me having the smaller castle that only needed one scroll ended up creating the perfect opportunity.

For Lady L0ry, the target was taken care of without her needing to spend all those scrolls, while for me it was the test I had been waiting for. Vidar1 gave me three attacks worth of reports, and now I have a much better understanding of how Vorian fits into my setup. The hunt itself was simple, but the information I gained from it will be useful for the next targets I find.

And that is exactly what I wanted from this hunt. I was not only looking for another castle to clear or some extra merits. I wanted to learn something about my new commander, and after checking the reports afterwards, I was happy with what I saw and I already know my next targets will be even more bigger to see what else my new lineup can do.
