A new KVK season is about to begin, and it is time for players to start planning ahead. Choosing the right role is an important part of determining how effectively you can work toward your final KVK ambitions and, ultimately, maximise the number of KVK coins you can earn.

With the introduction of roles, two additional types of currency have also been introduced into the game: Contract Gold (Common) and Contract Gold. Along with Cold Silver, each of these currencies serves a different purpose and offers its own benefits.

For both new and experienced players, the important questions are simple: How should you save these currencies? When should you spend them? And, most importantly, what should you spend them on?

This guide will break down each currency, explain how to make the most of it, and help you plan your spending based on your KVK goals.

🛡️How to obtain coins?

In our previous article, "The Hardest KVK Job??", we discussed which roles are the most demanding and which ones can be handled more casually. This time, we can take that discussion a step further and look at how each role affects your ability to accumulate KVK currencies.

Each individual task mentioned in that article awards 2 Achievement Tokens, which contribute toward increasing your Battle Pass level. If you have unlocked the Legendary Battle Pass, completing enough of these achievements can ultimately reward you with 2,000 Contract Gold.

Contract Gold (Common) is a little more complicated. It is a free currency, but the ease of obtaining it depends heavily on the role you choose. The Fighting Master has the easiest path to accumulating Contract Gold (Common), primarily through combat-related activities. Alchemists and Craftsmen, on the other hand, depend much more on their production output, such as the amount of altar production and crafting materials they generate. This makes accumulating Contract Gold (Common) more dependent on how actively and efficiently they perform their respective roles.

Finally, Cold Silver is much more straightforward. A little bit of simple mathematics can tell us exactly how much you can expect to earn if you maximise your KVK participation.

"Let's Do the Math"

Assuming maximum activity and successful capture of Yimir, the potential Cold Silver comes from the following sources:

1. Yimir: 9,000 Cold Silver
2. Citadel: 3,000 Cold Silver
3. Alliance Reputation at 12M: 10,000 Cold Silver
4. Alliance Ranking: Rank 1: 6,000 Cold Silver; Rank 2: 5,000 Cold Silver; Rank 3: 4,000 Cold Silver
5. Personal 10M Legion Marks: 25,000 Cold Silver

For an alliance finishing Rank 1, that gives:

9,000 + 3,000 + 10,000 + 6,000 + 25,000 = 53,000 Cold Silver

So, at maximum activity, a player can accumulate up to 53,000 Cold Silver from these sources, assuming their alliance captures Yimir and finishes first in the alliance ranking.

So now we know what we can potentially earn by the end of KVK. The next and more important question is: where should we spend it?

Let's take a look at the different places where these currencies can be spent and, more importantly, which purchases are actually worth your hard-earned KVK coins.

🛡️Legion's Vender

The shop where you can spend your Cold Silver is called the Legion's Vender. As a player, your first priority should be to unlock all the skills available in the KVK shop.

Each skill costs 48,000 Cold Silver, which means you will need roughly 12 consecutive KVK wins to collect enough Cold Silver to unlock all the skills. For newer players, this should be your primary long-term goal.

If you are an older player and have already managed to unlock all the KVK Ability Stones, then your next priority should be Wind Dragon Crystals or Dragon Essence. These provide considerably more value for your Cold Silver than most of the other options available in the shop.

♟️What Should You Avoid Buying?

There are a few things I would never recommend spending Cold Silver on:

❌ Philosopher Stones

❌ Teleports

❌ Artifact Materials

❌ Speed-ups

❌ Resources

The reason is simple: there are already plenty of other ways to accumulate these items throughout the game. Spending a limited and relatively difficult-to-accumulate currency like Cold Silver on them is simply not an efficient use of your coins.

Chat boxes, frames, and nameplates are a different story. These are completely subjective. If you are someone who enjoys a little bit of bling, then why not? Having some new designs and cosmetics can be a nice way to break the monotony of using the same decorations over and over again.

"But What If You Have Everything?"

But, but, but... what if your dragons are already maxed out and you are not working on the Wind Dragon either?

In that case, there is no real reason to force yourself to spend your Cold Silver. Simply save it to open the chests.

Sometimes, the best purchase is no purchase at all. If you have already exhausted the high-value options, saving your Cold Silver for future additions or rewards can be far more useful than spending it just because you have it.

🛡️Chests

So, why are these chests worth considering?

There are two simple reasons:

1. You can use KVK Cold Silver to open them.
2. You can also use Gems.

The conversion rate is particularly good: 1 Gem = 1 Cold Silver. So, if you managed to accumulate a healthy number of Gems during KVK, you could use them to open these chests after finishing your Cold Silver reserves.

Now, you might be wondering: Why does this matter to me?

Simple: Shadow and Holy Immortals.

If you are currently building Bjorn, which is a hot commodity right now, or working on Himiko, Theodora, Manco, or Tutankhamun, these chests can become particularly valuable.

However, there is one important thing to keep in mind: not all chests have the same Immortal pool.

The rewards available to you depend on your Alliance Faction Reputation ranking.

For example:

• Rank 1 and KVK winners: The top-tier spoils contain the full range of Shadow Immortals, giving these players access to the best possible Immortal pool.
• Rank 2 in Alliance Faction: The second-best chest pool is available, but Himiko and Manco are not included.
• Other participating players: The lower-tier chest pool does not include Theodora, Tomyris, Himiko, or Manco.

So, your Alliance's faction performance in KVK can have a significant impact on which Immortals you can obtain from these chests. And yes, technically your castle should be level 15 higher... but who isn't at this point? 😄

If your primary goal is Bjorn or Tutankhamun, then the decision is much easier. Once you have completed your primary goal of unlocking the KVK skills, feel free to keep opening the chests and work toward those Immortals.

There is also an additional incentive: opening 20 chests guarantees a Holy or Shadow Immortal.

That makes the chests particularly attractive for players who are actively building their Shadow or Holy Immortal lineup.

🛡️Contracts shop

The newest shop in the Legion of Frostborne roster is the Contracts Shop. Well, "newest" might be stretching it a little, considering it has already been around for seven seasons!

The Contracts Shop adds another way to measure your KVK activity. The amount of Contract Gold (Common) you accumulate determines which Schematics you can purchase, while Contract Gold can be used to unlock the higher-level skills in the Tower of Knowledge, from levels 55 to 60. Two of these skills, Grudge and Growl, can also be obtained using Cold Silver.

If you are serious about collecting Schematics and are particularly interested in unlocking these higher-level skills, then the Legendary Battle Pass is certainly worth considering. But hold on. Before you spend anything, take a second look and ask yourself:

What actually gives you the best value?

Schematics are not exclusive to the Contracts Shop. You can obtain them through several other sources, including monthly events, Squad Survival Tournaments, chest openings, and even Contract Gold (Common).

Yes, I understand that for a mid-spender or free-to-play player, obtaining these Schematics can be a painfully slow grind. But let's be honest, we are all pretty used to the grind by now!

♟️How Do We Maximise Our Contracts Shop Rewards?

Now that we understand where the rewards come from, let's look at how to maximise what we can get.

1. Contract Gold (Common): Choose Fighting Master

The obvious choice is to go with Fighting Master and make sure you accumulate 1,000 Contract Gold (Common) per day through wall hits, garrison hits, and burning enemy castles.

If you can maintain that level of activity throughout KVK, it can translate into enough Contract Gold (Common) for one full Artifact by the end of the season.

2. Contract Gold from the Battle Pass

For Contract Gold obtained through the Battle Pass, the priority should be to use it where it provides the most meaningful long-term progression.

• Skill Priority: If you are choosing which skills to unlock first, I would recommend the following order:
• Grace > Adaptive Field > Arcane Sniper > Grudge = Growl
• This gives you a clear priority while leaving Grudge and Growl at the same level, especially since both can also be obtained using Cold Silver.

• Schematic Priority: For Schematics, my recommended order is:
• Shadow and Light Selection Chest > Season-Exclusive Schematics > Artifact Schematic Selection

The Shadow and Light Selection Chest should take priority if you are actively building those Immortals. Season-exclusive Schematics come next, followed by the Artifact Schematic Selection.

🛡️KVK Ability stones

Finally, we come to the talk of the town: Skills.

Which skills should I get? It is a question every new player will eventually ask, but it is not limited to beginners. It also matters to players planning to change their builds and to the old dogs who still haven't managed to collect them all.

In the image above, you can see my personal ranking of the skills, divided into four categories:

• Must Have
• Good to Have
• Can Be Good
• To Recycle

The skills under "To Recycle" have intentionally been left blank for now. The reason is simple: what is worth recycling can depend heavily on your account, your current builds, and which skills you already have.

Recycling unwanted skills gives you Cinder of Wish, which can then be exchanged in the Wish Shop for other potentially OP skills.

🛡️Verdict

At the end of the day, KVK rewards are not about spending every coin the moment you get them.

Plan your role, maximise your activity, and spend your currencies where they actually move your account forward.

1. For Cold Silver, newer players should prioritise the KVK skills first, while older players who already have their Ability Stones can focus on Wind Dragon progression, Dragon Essence, or save for chests when there is nothing valuable left to buy.
2. For Contract Gold and Contract Gold (Common), think carefully before chasing Schematics or skills just because they are available.
3. Some rewards can be obtained through other parts of the game, so there is no need to burn your hard-earned contract golds without a clear goal.

Most importantly, know what you are building toward. Whether your goal is a particular Immortal, a stronger Dragon or better skills, your spending should follow that goal. KVK is already a long grind, so there is no reason to make it harder by wasting the rewards you worked so hard to earn.

Participate, grind, plan your purchases, and when in doubt, save.

Your future self will thank you when the next big upgrade arrives.
