Arena of Honor has become more tolerable to me. I still don't love the event, but it is easier to play since abandoning the solo journey. Overall, as a team we had done well and the core had stayed together for most matches. Occasionally we would switch out a spot, but it had never affected our performance. This time felt different. It being summertime, a time when many folks travel, we would be missing quite a few. My friend Dream was still there and we still had Besha, so I didn’t worry too much. For this match we were to be House Lannister…

I checked the map, it looked decent. Strong accounts but no one insanely overpowered. We always stand a chance if we minimize mistakes and make strategic moves based on what is needed on the map. I knew we would move for an extra clan castle early, but yall know me, I am all about the altars. Once we got the boring stronghold stuff settled, I was preparing to make my move, when we got the Clan castle to the North. Dream had someone go in and take it, but they were getting knocked out and would be needed in the other clan castle we were after. Dream asked me to take the Pink Castle with my main march. I was devastated at the thought of sitting in a clan castle with my strongest march. What about the alters lol. I didn’t have to like it, but I trust in our leader, so I did what was asked.

It was here I had noticed something had changed. I wasn’t what I would call well reinforced, but there were several teammates in the clan castle with me. Besha is priority on inf troops for Glory, so I didn't think it would be a problem. We weren't really being attacked by the Starks, it was mostly the clones, our clones…. Dun dun dunnnnn…

How bad could the dang clones really be? Since the Old Gods removed the loss of points beating the clones is most peoples bare minimum. Yet these did not appear to be the same low hanging fruit I had gotten used to them being. Their hits were damaging me, bleeding away at the troops. I had sent my second march to take some random altar, when it happened… I lost our extra clan. There was no time to dissect what had happened, I had to speed back so I could take it back. I called a fast rally, to hedge our bets and give me some extra power and rushed off to take back the clan before it would be bubbled.

I managed to get it back, so I finally took a look at the battle reports to see what had happened…

Wait what??? I beat myself? My own Clone me knocked me out of the Clan? What are the Old Gods giving these clones? Were they boosted? I had questions y'all, and I wanted some answers.

Maybe it was a fluke I thought. I am not sure how I feel about getting beaten by a NPC, even if it is an NPC of me lol. I would just keep an eye on things and be better prepared.  I will call out for reinforcements if I get low… Easy peasy. As I was once again getting low on troops when…

What the clones are rallying now??? How? Yall, never have I ever been so manhandled by the clones like this. While I could fairly easily take it back, they could too lol. I was feeling some kinda way. I hadn’t even noticed we had managed to take Glory. I rushed some reinforcements and then back to the clan. Which, I had lost again lol. My clone was every bit the pain in the behind that I am lol. It is hard to face yourself. lol.

The match went on like this. It was becoming comical. We held Glory, two clan castles, but I was battling clones non stop and we wound up taking second. Which isn't bad but was still disappointing for as expensive as this match was lol.

While we held key locations, we didn’t have as good of map discipline as we had in the previous matches.

Usually, when I am stuck in a clan castle like this, my eliminations suffer. This time, however, I beat my personal record lol.

Yall this was the weirdest match. 2nd place is really not bad. We were slower this match. Having difficulties getting the basics under control. I could only laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. Having some newer folks join, coupled by needing to pilot some of the usuals led to the chaos of the Clone Wars. There is much that could have been improved upon but overall I felt we did well making lemonade out of the lemons the Old Gods were throwing at us…

I did wonder if the clones had been buffed during the most recent update. That would definitely spice up the event forcing us to pay attention to another thing. I do wish we could get a troop increase in future updates. Now that there are so many different ways to potentially win, I imagine having another million troops available would make it even more interesting. Giving the bigger accounts one more potential march to help the allies.
