🛡️Introduction
Sitting down and watching most people using Qin made me wonder if we can think of another alternative. We saw the rise of wind immortals with the creation of a classic hybrid march with Hannibal and Qin with Alex and Zeno (Now long time no see) but now it is time to talk about another immortal who is gaining the spotlight.
Matilda of Flanders isn't a frontline bruiser or a solo carry. In a roster packed with raw damage dealers, her actual value is making everyone else on your team better. She acts as the engine for high-damage compositions, turning a standard skill rotation into a massive spike in output.
Let's talk more!!

🛡️Who is Matilda
Should we start with a little bit of history?
The Queen of England and Duchess of Normandy by marriage to William the Conqueror (A fire immortal used by early game players).
The story of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 is frequently dominated by the military exploits of William the Conqueror. However, behind his historic victory was a remarkably capable partner whose financial backing and political acumen proved indispensable to the creation of the Anglo-Norman empire.

Matilda of Flanders was far more than a ceremonial consort. As a wealthy and influential noblewoman in her own right, she actively financed William's risky invasion of England—personally funding his flagship, the Mora. While William fought on foreign battlefields, Matilda secured his homeland, governing Normandy with such stabilizing authority that no major rebellions broke out during her regency. Her coronation at Westminster marked the rise of a highly effective medieval ruler who successfully balanced the demands of maternal legacy, imperial finance, and stable governance in a volatile era.
♟️Who is she in game?
By Element - Wind 🍃
By Position - Backline Support 🏹
By Immortal Class - A+

♟️How do we get her?
Getting her is easy and through multiple avenues. Be it free to play or little to mid spenders. Matilda is "kind" of an easy immortal to obtain and max.
🔹King of hill is obvious choice of 90 frags per event (18x5 stages)
🔹Lucky Spin if you have gems to spare. (If you are super lucky then you get it in the free spin)
🔹Golden Path where 200 merit coins will give 60 frags with max exchanges possible up to 5 times totalling to 300 frags. Also, a stroke of luck here where random wind frags can give out Matilda.
🔹Special monthly events where you can 60 eternal grails for 60 frags (daily limit 1) with total of 600 frags in 10 days.
♟️Her strong areas!
With stats tipping more towards magical defence and resilience, you can consider her to take a stand against mages while providing a decent amount of dodge rate.

A real question that comes to the mind: "Where does she shine?" and "How much of a true support she is?"
🛡️Her Ultimate skill
This skill is the absolute trump card she holds for your entire team. Her ultimate capability, titled "Elegant and Magnificent," floods your roster with a 20% increased energy regeneration speed. To make things even sweeter, for every single instance of ultimate damage that lands during that 12-second window (when enhanced by her artifact), the immortal who dealt it gains a stacking 20% damage boost. This caps at three stacks, giving you up to a massive 60% extra ultimate damage.

When you compare her to other support immortals on paper, her baseline energy regeneration stat of 103.7 might look a bit low at first glance. But once you club that baseline together with her ultimate and her special artifact, she transforms into an absolute energy regeneration monster.
The best part? As soon as one 12-second cycle of 20% regeneration speed ends, another one immediately fires up. This creates an ongoing loop throughout the entire battle, allowing your whole team to spam their ultimate skills faster, more frequently, and with a constantly stacking 20% damage boost.

♟️Who isn't benefited by her ultimate?
An unlimited energy pool and a 60% damage stack sound amazing, but if you are a die-hard Alexander fan, this immortal isn't going to fit your style. Because Alexander’s ultimate is entirely passive, he doesn't gain energy from her buffs, nor does he get the damage stack since there is no active ultimate trigger. Simply put, immortals with passive ultimates won't benefit from what Matilda brings to the table.
♟️Who gets the most out of it?
This is where the fun begins, because she opens up a massive world of possibilities. As a personal rule of thumb, you want to pair her with:
"Immortals with high damage output from their ultimate"
or
"Immortals who's ultimate you want to spam faster"
This versatility is exactly why she stands out as a true, elite A+ tier option compared to some more niche support choices. To give you some concrete examples so you aren't left guessing, here is where she fits perfectly:
For Back Row: For Front liners Attack:
🔹Khan, 🔹Hippolyta
🔹Loki, 🔹Tutankhamun
🔹Himiko, 🔹Khubilai
🔹Gilgamesh 🔹Poseidon and Wukong
🛡️Battle Reports
Let's check how well she does in fights and battles. An example of a team here is below:

Let’s look at how beautifully this theory translates into actual battles. We analyzed an exciting team lineup designed specifically to maximize the raw damage output of Genghis Khan. The strategy paired the Thunder Dragon utilizing a Thunder Cry specialization alongside a utility-focused Matilda running Rage Blessing.

The results from this march are spectacular, though honestly not surprising once you know how her kit works. Going toe-to-toe against formidable enemy chaos marches, Khan completely decimated the opposition. He pulled off a staggering 95 million damage all on his own, wrapping up the entire battle in a mere 45 seconds.

The magic happens right at the start: the initial Rage Blessing from Matilda effectively counters the enemy's energy suppression mechanics. Once that initial grace period ends, Matilda is fully unleashed to pump energy and support Khan as much as possible. While you can definitely experiment with other skill setups, this highly accessible build—which even a free-to-play player can easily put together—shows just how "Elegant and Magnificent" her support can be.
🛡️Conclusion
Matilda is an immortal who might look like just another Wind element unit on paper, but she is so incredibly versatile that she can step into almost any hybrid march and find success. Your primary goal when playing her is simple: keep her in a position to spam her ultimate. If she is cycling her skills often, your entire team will follow her lead.
For a long time, Matilda has quietly hidden in the shadows of popular mainstream supports like Emperor Qin, Theodora, and Zenobia. But the meta is shifting, and it is time for free-to-play players and casual spenders alike to experience exactly what her engine can unleash on the battlefield.
🛡️️Should you get it?
100%. It is an all-round A+ tier support immortal.
Please do share what other marches you got with her or even if you are planning to get her in the future or if you are working on in.
