The low hum of her computer tower was the only sound breaking the silence of Camie’s room, a solitary workspace illuminated entirely by the harsh, blue glow of her monitor, and one thing popped up on their screen, two lords, unbubbled on kingdom 451, it was high time for Camie to spring into action.

Camie wasn’t just another casual player killing time, she was the undisputed top ranked merit holder in all of GOT WIC. For her, logging into the game wasn't a hobby or a way to socialize; it was a highly disciplined pursuit. For every migration flares lit up the skies, for every carelessly unshielded castle, and every bloated troop count on her tracking sheets was an invitation exclusive to her. As an infantry specialist, marching numerous high tier commander, her sheer reputation was built on split-second calculations, brutal efficiency, and an aggressive playstyle that left her targets wondering what had happened long after their screens went red.

Panning across the digital map of Kingdom 451, her mouse suddenly stopped. Two massive fortresses belonging to the powerful FuL alliance had appeared on her radar.

Both targets were bowmen-heavy players, although DEXTeR was without gear whilst AOHBACC was in full combat gear, sitting curiously out in the open without an alliance tower nearby, it was a glaring vulnerability, but it came with a massive catch: both accounts were visibly active. In the upper echelons of the game, hunting an active player was a massive gamble, and that isn't even including the threat of an Alliance tower. The moment an active player noticed an enemy nearby, they would either activate a peace shield, call in their alliance members to garrison their walls, likely trap the attacker's army. Most hunters would have scrolled past, looking for easier, offline prey. But Camie didn't reach the top of the leaderboards by playing it safe.

She opened her scouting tools, methodically analyzing their reports. The first target, DEXTeR, was the smaller of the two, though his walls still concealed millions of high-tier bowmen. The second, AOHBACC, was a monster carrying elite gear, massive stat boosts, and a sprawling military count. Camie knew she had a razor-thin window of time before the rest of the FuL alliance woke up to the threat. If she wanted to maximize her merit to risk, she had to dismantle DEXTeR first.

With a definitive click, she used her transrelocation and teleported her city directly into Kingdom 451 next to her targets. The virtual ground beneath her base shook. Every second wasted was a second closer to an alliance-wide alert.

She selected her elite infantry vanguard and clicked March.

The army lunged across the tiles like a tidal wave. When it collided with DEXTeR’s walls, the impact reverberated through the server's kingdom chat. Despite her troops taking heavy damage from the specialized bowmen defenses, her infantry punched through the gates with terrifying momentum. Millions of defending soldiers were wiped out instantly. The combat report flashed onto her screen: 9 million enemy troops eliminated in a single strike, netting her a massive 4 million merit points in seconds. On her map, DEXTeR's city began to burn.

In a high-level engagement, sustaining losses like that usually forced an attacker to pause, heal, and reassess. Camie did the exact opposite. The millisecond her surviving troops marched back into her city gates, her fingers flew across her keyboard, sending them right back out before DEXTeR could click a single defensive button.

The second strike landed with even more weight.

This time, Camie’s infantry tore right through the massive wall of low-tier bowmen that DEXTeR was using as a meat shield. Millions of lower-tier units vanished into the digital hospital queues under the assault. The combat log recorded nearly 12 million total kills from this single attack. Because the casualties were mostly lower-tier units, the merit yield was slightly lower than you would expect and only clocking in at 5 million points but the strategic damage was absolute. DEXTeR’s once-intimidating army had been completely hollowed out in under two minutes.

Recognizing the target was on the verge of total collapse, Camie launched her third and final march. Her infantry crushed the remaining resistance, completely wiping out the city's standing army. As the smoke cleared on the map, a golden notification popped up on her UI: DEXTeR’s Lord had been captured and thrown into her dungeon, adding another 7 million merit to her skyrocketing total.

Without pausing to celebrate, Camie pivoted her camera toward AOHBACC. But as she brought up the scouting panel, the atmosphere changed. AOHBACC was an entirely different beast. The troop count was staggering, the defensive gear was optimized to the highest tier, and the base stats were formidable.

Even with her specialized setup, which boasted massive bowmen counter-damage reduction specifically built to survive ranged compositions, Camie realized that charging into AOHBACC alone was an unacceptable risk. If she overextended her forces now, she could lose her whole army and lord. For the first time during the raid, the aggressive hunter had slowed down, her mind working through the combat math.

The conclusion was frustrating but undeniable: this target required a coordinated alliance rally to break, the risk otherwise was just far too great, and being the top ranked hunter, Camie would know sustainability is a hunters life force and keeping their armies healthy for the next raid is a standard.

She opened her alliance communication channel to organize the attack, but she was already too late. The FuL alliance had finally woken up. Suddenly, the blue territory boundaries of enemy alliance towers began dropping onto the map around both cities, locking down the coordinates. A second later, the familiar, shimmering silver peace bubbles appeared over the surviving castles. The targets were shielded.

For a hunter, there was no sight more infuriating than the sudden appearance of an impenetrable shield bubble. The raid was officially over.

Camie lingered on the coordinate screen for just a moment longer before preparing her departure. Across the virtual plains, DEXTeR’s castle was still engulfed in digital flames beneath its new shield a stark testament to the damage she had inflicted before the alliance could protect him. One active powerhouse had been entirely dismantled, his lord captured, and his army erased. The second had survived by the skin of his teeth.

As the dust settled, giving Camie the chance to properly review the final session ledger. Nearly 16 million merit earned in a single, high-stakes run. Millions of enemy troops destroyed, a captured lord in her cells, and a rival stronghold left in ruins. By anyone else's standards, it was a more than successful hunt even with it's disappointing conclusion.

But as she closed the game and leaned back in her chair, staring at the darkened ceiling of her room, the untouched golden bubble of AOHBACC city lingered in her mind. She had won the battle, but the target that got away left a bitter taste behind a quiet reminder that even the highest-ranked hunter in the game could still be denied their perfect victory.
