💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? Welcome back to my Illusion Battlefield League(IBL) series, where I take a closer look at different matches. The IBL tournament differs from regular IB in that everyone will construct marches and skill builds using a fixed set of skills. At different stages of the tournament, more immortals and skills will become available. Everyone has access to the same immortals and the same skills. Castle skins and Lord Talents do not affect the more fast-paced battles of IBL. Relocations and marching speed are also faster. The event is one of the most entertaining events in Infinity Kingdom, and players enjoy spectating, almost like a sporting event. In this article, I’m going to take a closer look at the match between Server 209’s Order 66(O66) and Server 231’s Knights(IMPK).

💠Overview
O66 finished the first phase with a 4–0 record, beat CBW in the opening playoff round, then lost to TNG before making a strong losers’ bracket run with wins over HOT, TH, and ITY to secure a Top 16 spot. They continued their momentum by defeating RiP to reach the Top 8 and have been one of the bigger surprises this season, consistently fielding around 30 players per match. IMPK, on the other hand, went a perfect 8–0 in the first phase and carried that form into the playoffs with wins over KFC and TT before losing to Ascendants of Asgard. After dropping to the losers’ bracket, they bounced back by beating XGV and then TNG in the Top 16. As a proven contender from last season with strong results again this year, IMPK should be considered the favorite in this matchup.

💠Tower 1
O66 deployed seven players to Tower 1 while IMPK sent ten, giving IMPK a clear numerical advantage. Both teams contested the bottom right corner spot and used fairly standard formations, though O66 left one frontline position open. As the top-sided team, O66 spreading across all three objectives meant their Central Tower would be undermanned compared to IMPK. With better numbers and comparable positioning, IMPK should have the edge at Tower 1 and be favored to control the objective.

💠Tower 4
O66 sent five players to Tower 4 while IMPK committed only one, giving O66 an overwhelming advantage from the start. O66 even attempted to block the initial relocation, but regardless of whether IMPK succeeded in landing, the lone player had no realistic chance of holding the position. With no support and facing superior numbers, IMPK’s presence at Tower 4 was effectively wasted, as the player would inevitably be zeroed and sent back to spawn.

💠Central Tower
O66 sent 11 players to the Central Tower while IMPK sent 12, giving IMPK a slight numbers advantage. O66’s positioning was inefficient, as they were spread along the top and right sides with many front-row spots left open, which limits their ability to garrison quickly and apply pressure. In contrast, IMPK formed a tighter, more compact grouping in the bottom-left corner, allowing for better support, faster rallies, and more coordinated focus fire. If O66 doesn’t move up and fill those frontline spaces, IMPK should have the edge in controlling the area.

💠Altars
Neither team sent anyone to the altars.
💠Home Towers
Both teams had one guard at their respective home towers.
💠Play-by-Play
At Tower 1, both teams had one player arrive simultaneously, effectively canceling each other’s relocations and delaying early positioning. IMPK quickly gained the upper hand by destroying a late O66 relocation, then followed up with strong pressure to zero one defender. They continued to control the area by blocking two additional incoming relocations, preventing O66 from stabilizing. Instead of redirecting those failed reinforcements to the Central Tower, O66 kept committing to Tower 1, which further weakened their overall map presence. IMPK capitalized by zeroing two more players, clearing the area, and capturing the tower seven minutes into the match. With minimal resistance remaining, IMPK could have rotated additional players toward the Central Tower to press their advantage further.

At Tower 1, IMPK initially won the relocation race and managed to block one of O66’s incoming players. However, the advantage was short-lived, as the IMPK player who secured the position was immediately bombarded with attacks upon arrival. O66 quickly overwhelmed the isolated defender, took control of the area, and captured the tower five minutes into the match. They then finished off the lone IMPK member, fully securing the objective. The left three players to guard the tower while rotating the rest to the middle.

At the Central Tower, IMPK opened by quickly zeroing an O66 player who lost multiple solo trades. Despite having the numbers advantage, many IMPK players stayed in their initial positions, while O66 took the initiative to move forward and occupy frontline space. The fight developed slowly, with both teams continuously sending reinforcements and trading damage without a decisive breakthrough. Over time, IMPK committed more and more resources—eventually dedicating over a third of their team to the center—which allowed them to gradually push O66 back. After a prolonged battle of attrition, IMPK finally secured control and captured the Central Tower at the 45-minute mark.

At the 27-minute mark, IMPK’s heavy commitment to the Central Tower left only two guards at Tower 1. Recognizing the opportunity, O66 teleported three players into the area and quickly zeroed one of the defenders. Both teams responded by sending in three more players, but O66 consistently won the engagements. They cleared out all remaining IMPK defenders, took control of the surrounding space, and captured Tower 1 at the 33-minute mark. This swing gave O66 a substantial lead and shifted momentum in their favor.

At Tower 3, the same situation unfolded at IMPK’s home tower where only two guards were defending. O66 teleported three players into the area and quickly capitalized, zeroing one guard who failed to garrison and then eliminating the second shortly after. IMPK attempted to respond by teleporting three defenders in, but O66 was already in control and picked them off one by one before they could stabilize. With no resistance left, O66 captured the tower a few minutes later, extending their lead to four towers to one with about ten minutes remaining, effectively putting the game out of reach.

💠Summary
O66 defeated IMPK 88,300 to 54,850, with LittleK00l earning MVP honors. The early difference came from O66 capturing Tower 1 five minutes earlier, giving them a steady points advantage and forcing IMPK to play from behind. IMPK needed to secure the Central Tower to swing momentum, but O66 held firm in the middle and denied every serious attempt. This resistance forced IMPK to overcommit resources from other objectives, leaving their defenses exposed. O66 capitalized on those openings, turning Central Tower pressure into map-wide advantages and ultimately securing the win. O66 advances to face their sister team HK, while IMPK’s season ends quietly.
