💠Introduction
What’s up, folks? Welcome back to my Illusion Battlefield League(IBL) series, where I take a closer look at different matches. The IBL tournament differs from regular IB in that everyone will construct marches and skill builds using a fixed set of skills. At different stages of the tournament, more immortals and skills will become available. Everyone has access to the same immortals and the same skills. Castle skins and Lord Talents do not affect the more fast-paced battles of IBL. Relocations and marching speed are also faster. The event is one of the most entertaining events in Infinity Kingdom, and players enjoy spectating, almost like a sporting event. In this article, I’m going to take a closer look at the match between Server 73’s The Arcane(ARC) and Server 454’s Black Blood(BxB). BxB’s positions in this match will be denoted in green while ARC’s will be in red.

💠Overview
ARC versus BxB is a matchup between a proven contender and an undefeated but less experienced opponent. ARC enters at 5–1 after a narrow loss to IMPK the previous week and brings strong pedigree, having finished 16th last season. They routinely field around 35 to 40 players and are widely regarded as one of the top teams each season. BxB came in at 4–0 with solid weekly attendance, but they lack ARC’s depth of experience at the highest level. Given the disparity in tournament experience and ARC’s consistent roster strength, ARC should be favored heading into the match.
💠Starting Positions and Talents
ARC
- Started with 33 players and ended with 40
- 18 Attack talents
- 13 Defense talents
- 2 Support talents
BxB
- Started with 23 players and ended with 38
- 8 Attack talents

💠Tower 1
At Tower 1, ARC sent nine players while BxB committed seven. Both teams contested the top left corner spot adjacent to the tower, but ARC’s overall formation was much cleaner, with four players positioned directly next to the objective. BxB’s setup was more scattered, with only one player on the first row and several gaps left open. If ARC could secure the contested corner, they were well positioned to take control of the tower without much difficulty.

💠Tower 4
ARC opened Tower 4 by sending nine players in a clean, standard formation, while BxB committed seven with one overlap. One BxB player attempted to cross into ARC’s bottom side to block two relocations, but without the correct edge spawns, he was never going to win that race. As a result, ARC completed their relocations uncontested and established early control around the tower. Given their lower attendance, BxB should have conceded Tower 1 and overloaded Tower 4 instead of splitting their forces. ARC recognized the numbers disparity and correctly chose not to abandon Tower 4 to reinforce elsewhere, allowing them to maintain stability at the objective from the outset.

💠Central Tower
At the Central Tower, ARC committed nine players while BxB sent seven. One BxB player crossed to ARC’s side in an attempt to block a relocation. Unlike ARC’s setups at the outer towers, both teams were less organized in the middle, with noticeable gaps between players and open front-row spots. Control of the center would likely depend less on initial positioning and more on how effectively each side managed relocations, rallies, and garrisons as the fight developed.

💠Altars
ARC sent one player to the Moon Altar. Neither team had anyone move to the Sun Altar.
💠Home Towers
ARC stationed three guards at their home tower. BxB had two at theirs.
💠Play-by-Play
ARC opened Tower 1 by blocking one relocation and destroying another, then nearly zeroed a third target before he was forced to shield. With the area thinned out, ARC transitioned into a siege while pressuring two nearby enemies. They flew one defender, destroyed another late relocation, and captured the tower at the six minute mark. ARC continued the momentum by zeroing two more players and fully surrounding the objective. When BxB attempted to re-enter the fight, ARC blocked and destroyed their relocations, clearing the area completely before rotating toward BxB’s home tower.

ARC opened Tower 4 by blocking one relocation and destroying four others, immediately stripping BxB of their ability to reinforce. Two additional BxB players were forced to shield under pressure, creating a clear opening for ARC to begin the siege. ARC captured the tower roughly a minute later and maintained complete control of the area, methodically zeroing remaining defenders while blocking most incoming relocations. With no way to contest the frontline, BxB was forced to relocate farther away and abandon meaningful pressure on the tower.

BxB opened the Central Tower fight by blocking one ARC relocation on ARC’s side of the objective, but the move was poorly supported and quickly punished, as ARC surrounded and zeroed him within a minute. Three BxB latecomers then relocated into the center, but ARC immediately pressured them with a mix of rallies and solo attacks, eliminating two before reinforcements could arrive. Additional BxB players attempted to relocate from spawn, but many landed next to each other, allowing ARC to block multiple relocations at once. BxB made no effort to destroy those blocks, and ARC used the opening to fully surround and clear the area. When the Central Tower became capturable, no BxB players were in position, and ARC secured their third objective at the 13 minute mark.

Five minutes into the match, a couple of ARC latecomers began moving toward BxB’s home tower, which was defended by three guards. At the 11 minute mark, two ARC players teleported in from Tower 1 while two more completed relocations next to the tower, quickly overwhelming the defense. ARC zeroed all three guards and captured the tower roughly a quarter of the way into the match. ARC then allowed BxB to briefly retake the objective a few minutes later, extending the game, but with a 30,000 point lead already established, ARC comfortably cruised through the remainder of the match.

💠Summary
ARC defeated BxB 100,000 to 20,500, with Cruella earning MVP. BxB’s biggest issue was timing, as nearly half of their roster arrived late, putting them at an immediate disadvantage despite strong attendance later in the match. As the top-sided team in that situation, BxB should have conceded Tower 1, leveraged edge spawns at Tower 4 to block relocations, and overloaded the remaining objectives, while also improving relocation discipline by destroying nearby landings and avoiding stacking next to teammates. ARC controlled the match comfortably, though they occasionally leaned too heavily on solo attacks when rallies would have been more efficient. The win moves ARC to 6–1, while BxB falls to 3–1.
