Hello again for the last round of Alliance Conquest before the playoffs. Your host, as usual, Igris Red here for you ! Today, we have Queensguard (QGD) against starkned (str). Like we said, this is the last time match, game 6 of AC and everyone wants to end on a good note no matter how bad their season has been. QGD have a 2-3 record as of this game and have won their last game. They are on a good run, had a great game and great win during their fifth match. They arrive ready to try and break even but as usual, winning can make you very confident, too confident, they’ll have to be wary of that.

As the timer comes to an end, QGD have 26 players in against one lone player for starkned. Well, QGD will surely think they’re winning but like we said, no overconfidence, 80k is the goal, against only one opponent they better hit it or it may just be a loss. Anyways, game’s on !!

Miagi, the str player, is very fast and immediately takes the Lannister outpost. He is alone so speed may be his only chance to get some points. Good for him. On the other hand, QGD took a lot more time, they are already being overconfident. Nonetheless, they take both the Tower of the Warrior and the Temple of the Mother while also taking the Targaryen outpost. After all, once magi has a building, he cannot take anymore.

While QGD is discussing what to do with the Miagi, the ports open up and they easily take both since there is no one fighting for them. Still there is lots of talking and debate among the alliance, should they fight Miagi where he is ? Should they just leave him there ? There are advantages to both points. If he stays there, he won’t be able to take any other building making the rest of the match tame and a very easy win for QGD. If they attack him though, they can maximize the points they can get by controlling every single building, and reinforcing every building enough that a one man army can’t take them over again should be doable. Then again, there is also the simple thought of letting a lone guy take some point from a match which he can clearly not win.

Lots of words, lots of speaking and none of them even payed attention to Casterly Rock opening up and Miagi makes the change from his outpost to an unattended Casterly Rock which is now his for the next 4 minutes because of first capture benefits. Goes back to what we said before, QGD became overconfident, felt like Miagi couldn’t much so they just forgot about the match at all and now they might not get full rewards out of this game just because they couldn’t keep focus.

It is no trouble for LordLionel who, as soon as CR opens up, takes it back for QGD. She was on the side of letting Miagi take a building and build points but her primary goal stays to get full rewards and points for her alliance and as we can all see, she’s leading by example. At this point, it’s 15,500 points to 4,360 for str, quite a difference but QGD have to keep focus from now on or else they might slip away from complete control of the game.

While LordLionel has straightened herself up and got CR back for her alliance, the other members might benefit from reinforcing already owned buildings. Such example is Miagi taking the Lannister stronghold from no one as it was completely left alone. The strongholds opened up and since Miagi had just gotten thrown out of Casterly Rock, he settled for a stronghold. QGD took a stronghold themselves and now they will have to put up with regiments being sent by Miagi’s stronghold.

The first regiment sent by his stronghold sent off LordLionel from Castelry Rock. The next second, ShmooVe took it back and ensured it stayed in QGD’s hands. Within the same timeframe, LordLionel took that opportunity to take the Lannister stronghold Miagi had controlled. QGD wanted to let him get some points sure but not at the cost of their own game.

As the mines open up, Miagi took the Lannister port from me, Igris Red and it was decided to leave him there so that he wouldn’t bother the alliance again by attacking an important building, even more so since the mines opened up. QGD took control of them with ease and they stayed in their hands till the end of the match. After a few attacks from the regiments sent by the strongholds, Miagi lost control of the port and started attacking QGD players directly like meatman and meatballs. It is a realistic way to get some quick points for him. After this, Miagi got back the port and fought until the end of the game to keep control of it.

It’s the end of the match and as everyone thought it would be, QGD won by a huge margin. Miagi was still able to score by himself almost 8 thousand points which is impressive. On the other hand, QGD didn’t reach the wanted 80k points which is not impressive and rather concerning on their side. They fought against a lone soldier and still couldn’t get full rewards out of it, it is really bad. Perhaps bringing more people in would allow them to get more from the mines and reach closer to the objective. Also, losing Castelry Rock for over 4 minutes definitely didn’t help. All in all, QGD still reaches an even record of 3-3 thanks to this win, good for them, it allows them to finish the season on a good note while also not being on the losing side too much. For str, Miagi fought greatly but there is only so much one can do alone, if he had more people he would definitely be a threat and possibly could even win.
