💠Introduction

What’s up, folks? Welcome to my beginner series, where I’ll be taking a closer look at specific events that may be difficult for early-stage players. In this article, I’m going to explore the Deep Sea Eye, its items, whether they are worth purchasing, and cheaper alternatives.

💠Table of Contents

  • Overview
  • Crimson Moonlight
  • Stardust
  • Gold
  • Resources
  • Summary

💠Overview

The Deep Sea Eye is an event that occurs every weekend for three days, starting on Friday and ending on Monday. The disappearing shop carries Crimson Moonlight, Stardust, Heart of Norheim, bundles of 1,000,000 Gold, and bundles of 1,000,000 of each type of resource. Players can purchase these items with Gems, but the cost gets progressively more expensive with every purchase. Players can also purchase up to ten of each item per week. Some items are worth buying up to a certain amount, and others are completely worthless. I will skip the Heart of Norheim because it is an artifact that is seldom used by every type of player at every stage in the game.

💠Crimson Moonlight

Crimson Moonlight comes in sets of four. Its starting price is 1,600 Gems. It increases by 200 Gems every level for a few levels, then it increases by 400 Gems per level before rising all the way up to 1,000 Gems per set. The final set costs 6,000 Gems, which is equivalent to purchasing $49.99 in Gems. The only other place you can get Crimson Moonlight is from the Lucky Spin event. Pearl of Finding costs about $0.28 and $0.50 per pearl for the $4.99 and $14.99 bundles. I have averaged about 150 Crimson Moonlight in about 140 pearls, which cost eight $4.99 bundles or about $40. That comes out to be about $0.27 per Crimson Moonlight. If we convert Gems to dollars based on the fact that 6,000 Gems is equivalent to a $49.99 bundle, the first and cheapest set is still over ten times more expensive than what you would average in the Lucky Spin event. The only caveat is that Gems can be obtained for free. Therefore, if you can only obtain Gems and not Pearls of Finding, then purchasing a few sets of Crimson Moonlight from the Deep Sea Eye merchant is worth it. Otherwise, the Lucky Spin event is still miles better. Golden Path is another option for 50 Crimson Moonlight monthly. It costs less than 450 Gems if you purchase the $4.99 Battle Pass, so only purchasing the first set is worth it in that case.

💠Stardust

Stardust starts at 560 Gems and each set contains seven. Stardust is incredibly important as it takes 6,086 to level an immortal to level 50 from scratch. Stardust used to be extremely difficult to get, but since its introduction to the game, new free ways to obtain the item have been added. There are a number of shops and vendors where players can purchase small amounts of Stardust for in-game currency, such as the Rift Breaker Shop, the Arena Shop, and the Throne of the Supreme Shop. There are numerous events that grant Stardust too. The best one currently is the Celebration Shop that accompanies the monthly events. You have to purchase some Glorious Challenge Tickets and you can purchase up to 500 Stardust with the event coins. It comes out to be less than 10 Gems per Stardust. For that reason, I would not spend so many Gems to buy any Stardust from the Deep Sea Merchant. Compared to the Celebration Shop, the merchant seems more like a scammer than a vendor.

💠Gold

Gold is necessary throughout all stages of the game, but it’s a bottleneck for newer players. Gold starts at 1,300 Gems and doubles after every set until the latter half, where it drops to a 650 increase per set. Leveling dragons and boosting immortals cost gold. Transmuting, Infernal Assault, and Mysterium are the best ways to get gold. 1,300 Gems doesn’t seem like much, but the problem is that a million gold is such a small drop in the bucket compared to what you’d need. A level 30 dragon costs upwards of 10 million gold. Purchasing that much gold from the Deep Sea Eye merchant is not a viable option.

💠Resources

Similarly, resources start at 320 Gems for a million and go up by 320 Gems per set until the second half, where they increase by only 160 Gems. It costs a total of 15,200 Gems to buy 10 million resources. Since the patch that lowered troop deaths in battles, speedups are not as important as resources. Players will run out of resources, especially food, quicker than they will run out of speedups. Therefore, resources are infinitely more valuable. While you can get resources from every event and they are abundantly available, the market is the only place where you can get a large amount of them. Even with a 40% discount, the market price for a million resources is 960 Gems, equivalent to the third set from the Deep Sea Eye merchant. Therefore, if you have Gems and are in need of resources, buying up to the third set is worth it. If you have purple stones, resources are cheaper in the market.

💠Summary

The Deep Sea Eye merchant sells almost everything at a premium. It is not worth it to purchase Crimson Moonlight, Stardust, or Gold. Resources are worth buying up until the third set.
