A new season of the Arena of Honor begins.

For anyone who doesn't know, Arena of Honor is an event where six factions, each with 10 players, fight to conquer the City of Glory.

But before you get to fight for the City of Glory you need to occupy strongholds and altars in order to gain as many buffs as possible to give you an advantage over your opponents for the time when the fight starts.

With the new season has come a new matchmaking system.

Each player has an individual score and matches will be made according to team rating.

For this first round, our team consists of only HOH players with a team rating of 102k

considering that whales should have a much higher rating, we hope to get a good and playable match.

When we entered the map, we immediately realised that matchmaking did not go as we wished, since we ended up in Stark House, and next to us was WxC in Greyjoy House, while on the other side in Baratheon House was Lord Orval.

So we knew it wouldn't be easy even to defend our altars.

On the other side of the map there is a group of NBe in House Targaryen while in House Lannister and House Tyrell there are players from various alliances.

Our strategy for this match will be adapted to the factions next to us, and since they have some very strong accounts, we decided to go full trading post, trying to take three altars of Maiden to maximise our point production and try to place as high as we can.

Besides us, House Tyrell, House Lannister and House Baratheon decided to go full trading post too, only House Greyjoy and House Targaryen decided to build offensive buildings.

but just a few minutes after the start something happens that would have a huge impact for the result of this fight.

House Tyrell because didn't reinforced their clan castle, they lost it to House Targaryen.

By conquering another faction's house, in addition to the house itself that gives 200 points per minute, they also gain 20% of that faction points and the ability to occupy their Trading Camp and take their mine, doubling their point production, and this has a huge impact on the outcome of the match.

The match has just started but it doesn't look good for us. We end up in the middle of the two strongest factions, the faction on the other side occupies another castle getting 20% of their points and the chance to have two mines that gives 8000 points each and double trading posts, all of those works against us, but there is nothing we can do about it except continue with our strategy and trying to constantly have three Maiden Altars to maximise our point production.

Which wasn't going to be easy, with both adjacent factions attacking us all the time and reinforcing quickly, so to kick them out we needed to rally every time.

but luckily we had strong enough accounts to be able to defend ourselves.

Once the City of Glory opened WxC were quick to take it and reinforce.

Everyone knew how strong they are and many gave up immediately,

But even though we knew we didn't have much chance, we decided to try to attack them.

From previous attacks on altars, we saw that he is a very strong bleed infantry account, so to have better chance we decided to attack with Tardis Cavalry Female.

As we expected, we couldn't do them much damage, even though we had the counter in our favour.

They kept defending the City of Glory without difficulty until the end, securing the 10% points bonus from each other faction, and the victory of this match.

But even though the winner was already known, it was a three-part race for second place, as we were all very close in points.

But our team and the House Baratheon were in the worst position, since we were close together fighting for second place, while House Targaryen were on the other side of the map undisturbed.

we fought until the end trying to defend our buildings and do the best we could.

But in the end House Targaryen, having also House Tyrell had double our trading posts, so a higher production of points that give them second place.

House Baratheon, having a freer side, also had a higher production and overtook us in the end getting third.

In the end we ended up fourth, probably if we had been positioned somewhere else on the map and not right in the middle of the two strongest factions we could have done better, but this time we were unlucky.

Whatever the result, it was a good match for us, with a good strategy, executed well, which got us a lot of points.

Sadly, this time it was only enough for fourth place, but hopefully we will be luckier in future matchups.
