Let’s Talk Ruin Rivals: Mini-Me Alt Account with Big Whale Vibes!

So "Looser’s UC" is up today, probably the last one this season, and I’m still trying to figure out how to play this new event. Since the main match tonight in N0X is going to be a massive showdown, where every whale and their mother is probably invited, I decided to practice in the alt alliance before the main event.

Oh, and did I mention? N0X is now in the Combined Army. Good luck to us... this is going to be a very expensive game!

But before the inevitable tears of sorrow later today, let’s enjoy a more casual and fun game in the alt alliance.

Did I mention the alt alliance is on the Barren Army side? Sweet!

Now, let’s get down to business. First things first, recall all gathering troops and come in with a full battalion.

I hope nobody notices the half empty mines.🙃My alts and farms have gotten me in trouble for farming disputes before, so I’m just crossing my fingers that no one sees these unfinished nodes. Especially that level 5 Mint I just left behind like it was a pile of bad gold nuggets or something.

Hmm... nuggets. Now I’m thinking of some crispy fried cikin... Okay, if we win this, I’m ordering some chicken. Boom! Motivation! Now I’ve got real incentive to play, not just practice.

Alright, back to the game. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to bring in? I don’t even know how to play this, despite having done it a couple of times from both sides.😅

Oh well, classic round robin rule of thumb: bring everything except bows, because... you know... everyone hates bows.

Let’s gooo! I deploy randomly and hope for the best because I still have no idea what I’m doing. I guess there should be assignments or something? Only God know, YOLO!

We seem to be off to a good start. At least we're getting some buildings. Not sure if we have a head start as the "defending army" or if we're just that good and winning races. Either way, Yeey for us😜We seem to be getting everything... except one building? Is this not important? Have we run out of players? Was this not assigned to a player? Only God knows again! Forward to Victory! Ignorance is Bliss!

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that the "corners" of the desert are important. The defending team needs to... you guessed it... defend them. And if the Combined Army takes them and holds them for a few minutes, they get "Cleansed"? Or what's it called, insert "Cleansed" synonym here.

This is where things can start to go downhill for the Barren Army, so at least I know these are the most important part of the game. If all 4 of these get "Cleansed", the Combined Army can attack center like in CCS. And if we lose center, it's over. We've lost. And my cikin dinner doesn't want that to happen!😏

So let's take and hold some "corners", and prevent them from being "cleansed". I think these "corners" are called "Ruins"? Would make sense, right? Since the event is called... Ruin Rivals?😂

Hey! I just realized, I'm not that clueless about this game now, am I ?!?

Like I said, we were off to a decent start, until someone who’s not in voice takes a building they weren’t assigned to.

Guess what? I learned there were assignments! This is a surprisingly well organized event for an alt alliance! Props to them, I salute you.

Still, the problem? The person who took it by mistake doesn't know how to disband it and swap to the designated holder.😅

Luckily, this is quickly solved. With a bit of guidance, the player finds the disband button and we’re back on track, with our win and my chicken nuggets!

We brought some big accounts in here. Some are as big, if not bigger, than my main... and we’re playing for keeps. But things soon start to get dicey! Because there are some big accounts on the opposing side as well.

Let’s see if they’ve got anything on us. And yeah, unfortunately, they do!

Little by little, they manage to chip away at our defenses. And that’s okay. We’re all kind of equal at the start, but if we manage to hold on to our buildings, we’ll soon build up the Barren Army snowball advantage.

Alas, in the first 10 to 20 minutes, we’re a bit vulnerable as the Barren Army. This gives the Combined Army a chance to grab some of our buildings, just like we’re seeing here.

For a few seconds, anyway, because we took it back right after!😀That’ll show ’em! We’re no pushovers!

As the game approaches the midpoint, we’ve got our most important buildings secured.

With Discord instructions finally easing up, I decide to test my alt account.

Now remember, this is my ultra F2P alt account. No secret power, no fancy skins, no cool marching animations, not even a full line of 4* awakened commanders. I’m bracing for the enemy to be roughly in the same boat, definitely not the maxed accounts I usually face on my main.

So, let’s see if mini-me can have some fun out there.

Woops... I just killed 7 people in Warrior. That’s cute.

Wait?!? Seven people? How is this even possible?

My main account struggles to kill one, but here I am, sniping seven with mini-me?

Suddenly, my name’s on the map! That tiny green dot in the right, top-ish section of the minimap ? That’s me! Well, Mini-Me😜

Is this some kind of glitch? A fluke? I have to try again.

Weeee! Only three this time, easy targets.

Okay, I’m starting to get it. I can see why whales are always chasing elimination points. This is actually fun! The game can actually be super fun!

On the downside, with only 6 marches researched, I’m starting to be spread too thin. I can’t reinforce buildings and keep sniping at the same time. Sounds like a whale problem, right? All these big players flying around chasing kills and running personal errands instead of contributing to their alliance's game. Now I know how it feels.

Wait… am I turning into a whale? Definitely not, lol. I don’t even have eight marches unlocked yet, remember? But, I’m definitely having whale like problems and thoughts. That's a nice change of pace. Something I was not expecting to experience anytime soon, let alone o my alt.

Anyway, I kind of like this kill streak. Since I’m going to be stuck in buildings with my main tonight, I figure I might as well enjoy the event on my alt. I'll take what I can get!

So, naturally, I do the only sensible thing: recall one march and keep the part rolling!

I’m tearing this place apart. Whenever I spot a smaller building with just a handful of people inside, that’s my elimination points boyzz!

My only regret? I can only occupy one building at a time. Fair enough, I guess. We wouldn’t want some max account running all over the map, killing everything left and right... oh wait, that’s exactly what I’m trying to do right now. Lol, whale problems again.😅

But all this fun comes with a price. Amid the chaos, we lose a Ruin. Pretty sure it was the one with the infantry, and... we didn’t bring many infantry troops. So, kind of an obvious weak spot, and the Combined Army was quick to catch us with it.

Well, too late now. If we don’t lose anything else, we’re still sitting pretty with a huge advantage.

Soon I take another building.

And then another.

Running this T5 tank with a T4 meatshield is something new for me, but it’s working wonders. Just as I’m healing my troops, for cheap I might add, thanks to the meatshield, I catch a glimpse of my success in the game banner. Nice timing!

By now, I’m so confident I could take on anyone on the map that I don’t even bother scouting anymore. I just charge in, cavalry first!

Yeah… that was probably not the best idea, because what happened next was not exactly in my favor…

No glory was waiting for me there, only a murder citadel. None of my cavs came back from that one. A full march wiped out just like that. But I was doing so well, what happened?

Turns out, I stumbled into a Spear Weakness defender also packing T5s, plus a few reinforcements leading to an army size triple my own.

Now the heals aren’t cheap anymore.😅But hey, look! I caught the same achievement banner from a few minutes ago. Oh, the irony.

Naturally, I’m pissed. Time to call in the cavalry. Oh wait… I’m the cavalry, and that didn’t work.

Fine, let’s call in the airstrike. Deoris follows up with a swift strike, her spears cutting down those nasty enemy spears that trashed my beautiful horsies. REVENGE!

At this point, we’re entering the final stages of the match, and they’ve only taken one building from us. They seem discouraged, and they should be! We were like Gandalf in this game.

I check the rankings and am pleasantly surprised to see I’m sitting at rank 10 in eliminations, and rank 100+ in healing. How cute!

Apparently, I’m the reason others are topping the healing charts today. They call me... the Killer of killers!🙌

Now There isn’t much left to hunt, and after my next hit, I finally understand why. Whoever’s still holding a building on the map isn’t going down without a fight.

Another devastating hit wipes me clean. If I needed 26 days of healing before, now it’s probably 50. I don’t even want to look.😱

Instead, I’m already "scouting" fast food delivery. Remember that deal I made? Yeah, I’m ordering me some juicy cikin. We’re not losing this now!

With that said, just like I suspected, there’s not much left on the map worth my time. I definitely don’t want to spend 45 days healing (yeah, okay, I looked, my bad), and with no horses left to ride, I just wait it out... like everyone else is doing now anyways.

As the game nears its end, I prepare for one last hit. I heal just enough for a final strike, but since I don’t have a preset with T5s, because I don’t have T5s, and can’t make one either, I try to manually adjust the army size. Naturally, the game doesn’t like that, so I get locked out and miss the end credits and curtain call. By the time I log back in, the ravens have already arrived.

We ended up defending 8 out of 9 buildings, and my personal rankings were close to top 10. So now I have one day shiny vouchers for a castle skin and two marching animations. Given my alt has nothing at all, these will be cute. I’ll probably save them for some big event later on, forget I have them, and never use them. Yeah, that definitely sounds like a plan. 😅

This anti cav marching animation would’ve been better on my main, but hey, the animation looks nice.

But check this out: 10k army size, total stats, and… drumroll… aura buff! Not even my main has an SS castle skin with an aura buff.

My alt is going to look absolutely legendary… for only a limited time of 24 hours. 😂😂

Anyway, with that being said, it’s time clean up those gathering nodes I abandoned earlier and wrap up some real life chores. And let's not forget... get ready for another round of Ruin Rivals later tonight. This time with my main alliance. I’m honestly curious to see if it can match the fun I had with the alt squad. Probably not, big alliance, big players, I will most likely be a mindless reinforcement drone all game long.
