Arena of Honor

Season 3, Round 15

The final round of the season is upon us. And we have had a very fun, but also frustrating season, with some last minute losses, some dominant winsand some middle of the pack finishes where we felt like we over-achieved given our opponents we were up against. We are currently on a 3 game Top 3 streak, and don't want our good form to dip on the final game.

The match begins, and we all pick our spots in the hive of House Baratheon and get ready to battle it out with the enemy. But before we do, we check who we are up against. We see many strong accounts, but this doesn't stop us going all out to try and win this one.

The strongholds are about to be ready for us to attack so I stop checking out the enemy and prepare for the start. We all take one each and convert to Trade Posts while AryyellE takes the Clan Castle and we all reinforce each other quickly to speed up the construction speed and hope to have the early edge on the enemy teams.

And it worked , we finished the first set of strongholds first and took that early lead, and just in time for the second set of strongholds too. So we march our troops into them as soon as we can and reinforce them again. I go for the first altar available , the altar of  stranger. I asked for people to reinforce me, but no one came to help , but it was ok because no one attacked me before it bubbled.

Then we waited patiently for more altars to drop their bubbles before we all picked a target and went for them. I went for an enemy Altar, but I was too slow getting my troops in first, luckily I won and got us the maiden. Reinforcements were called for and 2 came before I got attacked.

Once the job is done there we look for more targets. Instead I see an unoccupied Altar of Warrior so send my Lord march with weakness set up and try to get that instead. Next door was an unoccupied Altar of the crone so I sent a march of cavalry troops to try and get that one too.  It wasn't long before I was being attacked on them both, although I expected to lose the crone, I decided not to pull my troops out and return them home. Instead i left them there to defend. Turned out to be a good choice. The attacker on the crone LOST, miraculously my army of pure tier 5 cavalry and no commander had won.

We continued to take more Altars of all kinds, almost all were left un-attacked, all except Bollie at the altar of the maiden and asked for reinforcements before he got hit. I missed to get in before the first enemy attack hit, but Bollie survived, so I sped in with my troops quickly to help defend before more came. Just in time too… CoffeeQuokka’s army was marching in fast.

Soon after 2 more attacks were incoming, we stayed to defend, but no more came to help us! I hope we have enough troops in here to prevent the enemy from taking it! These attacks both look strong.. And they're speeding in and more reinforcements for the maiden are nowhere to be seen! I hope we have enough!!

Success!!! We have defended the maiden until it bubbled and we can recall our troops to heal and set off for the next target… the dragon pits!!

One of them was already occupied by House Stark, I didn't bother to scout, and went in blind , but only to find Minity in there!!! Argghhhh!!

The City was soon about to drop its bubble too, and getting and holding the City is our main objective. But in case it fails I try to get more altars. I send my lord march to another Altar of Maiden, and a low amount of cavalry troops to an altar of the Father. And of course , they both get attacked, and of course, I'm defeated in them both.

This doesn't matter so much, because it is not what we want. We want the city and to win the event that way. But seconds after the bubble had dropped on the City of Glory, our main man ImMoRTaL races his army in and captures it and requests immediate reinforcements, so everyone stopped everything they were doing and sped in a full march of cavalry troops. It wasn't long before Minity set up a rally and once full they marched towards us. I feared the outcome because Minity is not weak, but neither is ImMoRTaL.

VICTORY!!!! Although Minity did hit us hard, so we had to quickly recall and heal our troops before resending back to the City to defend again. Minity and House Stark also healed quickly, and set up another rally on us at the city. I wasn't as nervous about this rally as I was about the first. And good reason, another defensive victory!!!

Again we recalled the troops and healed before resending to the City. Moments later we gained the protective bubble and could relax a little knowing that we have an almost 4 minute window from when/if we lose it to recapture it again.

And after the bubble had dropped a rally from someone other than Minity was set up, someone I was unsure of. But they marched towards us at the City and we awaited the outcome.. I checked the rally leader only to find out it's a spearman account! And they look strong! I think it could be over!! The Rally marched closer and closer until it collided with the city gates. I was glad to see the enemy troops all returning home.. And I was right, the spearman rally lead was very strong, but we defended well.

Since we have the city, and are sure of holding off all the attacks now, we leave alone the mining sites just to stay focused on the City. And many more times Minity and co. tried to kick us out of the City , but every time they tried, we defended well and healed after every rally that hit.

With this dominant display on defending the City of Glory, it ensured that we achieved our objective we set prior to the match, and a great way to end the season.
