[Review] Mercantile Path for Dummies: An Event Guide in Infinity Kingdom

What’s up, folks? Welcome to my beginner series where I’ll be taking a closer look at specific events that may be difficult for early-stage players. In this article, I’m going to explore the Mercantile Path event, what it entails, its rewards, and alternatives.

💠Picking the Caravans

Mercantile Path occurs once a month and lasts three days. The event asks the player to choose a type of caravan to escort to its destination. There are three tiers of caravans: Small, Medium, and Giant. You can select the number of chests you want to escort within each tier as well. All three tiers have eight selectable quantities. The higher the tier and the more the quantity, the more difficult and longer the escort mission is. Players can escort up to five caravans a day, but you can join as many of your alliance members’ caravans as you want. One great thing about this event is that it doesn’t cost any AP. If you don’t have any patience to sit there and manually proceed after every attack, the caravan will automatically start after five minutes and proceed two minutes after every attack. You can skip the two-minute rest time in between attacks and speed up the escort if you dispatch immediately. Joining caravans will only get you Elite Schematic Fragment Chests and not elemental ones.

💠Rewards

The rewards are two-fold. You can get Artifact Schematic Fragment Chests for every caravan you escort or join and you will also get rewards based on your alliance’s ranking in the event. Small caravans give three to five Elite Schematic Fragment Chests and one to five Epic Schematic Fragment chests, depending on the quantity you select. Medium caravans give four to five Elite Schematic Chests, one to five epic chests, and one elemental Artifact Schematic Selection Chest. Finally, the Giant caravan can give five elite chests, one to five epic chests, and one to two elemental chests. Being able to escort up to five missions a day means you can get up to 30 elemental Artifact Fragment Chests every event. Additionally, the top alliance gets 300 Gems and three Philosopher’s Stones. Alliances ranked second to fifth get 200 Gems and two Philosopher’s Stones. Alliances ranked six to ten get 100 Gems and one Philosopher’s Stone. Each completed escort mission raises your alliance’s score by one. If you bring a farm account into the alliance to complete the missions and then boot it afterward, the added score will stay. 

💠Alternatives

While the elemental Artifact Schematic Fragment Chests are extremely helpful, especially for those in the early and mid-game, it’s not entirely necessary to do so as there are other ways you can easily get artifact schematics. Most notably, the revamped Arms Race event that occurs once a week will yield 60 epic chests and 15 elemental chests. Additionally, you can also nab both chests from the Contention of Lords event that occurs every two weeks. Similarly, the King of the Hill event also gives players some chests as rewards. Other places you can get specific artifact fragments from include Mysterium which resets every other day, Time Rift Breaker which starts every Thursday and ends every Monday, and other miscellaneous events throughout the month like Battle Passes and Throne of the Supreme.

💠Summary

Mercantile Path is a decent event that gives artifact schematic fragments for little work. It’s a great way for newbies to get additional artifacts, but it’s not necessary for veterans to do when just playing the game and participating in general events will allow you to accumulate elemental Artifact Schematic Fragment Chests. It’s a nice throw-in event that doesn’t cost AP.
