A new mining adventure was about to begin in Westeros. Like every other Thursday, the Super Red Mine was about to open, offering its share of rewards, and above all, a battle for mining supremacy. It's unique, it's red: it's the Super Red Mine. The amount of diamonds that could be mined was quite impressive: 16 per minute. Which is a good mining rate. But Arthurion wasn't particularly interested in the quantity of diamonds to be harvested. The Red Mine also offered the possibility of obtaining a red weapon. But that didn't interest Arthurion either. So what the hell was he doing in this mess? Ensuring the security of the mine and allowing his friends to win the formidable rewards promised to the victors. It was therefore a day of surveillance, protection, and therefore purely warlike.

The weapon up for grabs today was the Ancient Axe, Raymond's weapon. It wasn't an incredibly useful weapon, but it nevertheless provided a fairly substantial 15% research speed bonus. For many, research speed was no longer important, but not for Arthurion. He knew that research and scholarship were the keys to knowledge and wisdom, allowing one to better understand and dominate the world. This would therefore be a tremendous asset for his friends, who would need all these beneficial qualities.

-<( First Light of Dawn )>-

At the start of mining, Arthurion was rather pleased to see his friend PacoVega in the mine. He had already logged several hours of mining, which put him in a good position to obtain first place. But he was currently only second, behind a LEG named holtep. Paco was in the mine, and had even added a time bonus of 4 hours. This could only mean one thing: he considered himself the most powerful. It must be said that the BDR alliance tag was surely a hindrance.

But after a few moments, a friend appeared. An RRH named Daenerys. He surprisingly managed to get Paco out of the red mine. Was this an endgame? In any case, PacoVega was no longer in the mines. Arthurion quickly learned that he was a cavalier player. It would be difficult for PacoVega to come to terms with it. Arthurion therefore marched out with his army and struck the enemy.

PacoVega resumed his position on the red mine, praying not to be disturbed in the coming hours. Arthurion also had to be away for long periods. Paco would therefore be alone on the mines.

... A few moment later...

-<( Evening )>-

When Arthurion returned at the end of the day, PacoVega was no longer on the mine… In the general ranking, the one at the top was none other than the LEG named Holtep. He had almost 9 hours' time on the mine. Paco had only 3 or 4 hours. It would therefore take many hours to catch up to him. But Arthurion hoped that Holtep would quickly give up on the red mine, thinking he was assured of first place. So Arthurion attacked Holtep and took him out fairly easily, since he was an infantryman.

- Arthurion: I took Holtep out, and given the beating I gave him, he's not likely to come back anytime soon! - PacoVega: Don't think he'll be defeated so easily; he's camping all day in front of the mine.
- Arthurion: You mean he only has two passions? Mining and camping?
- PacoVega: That's pretty much it.

But several times, he returned. And several times, Arthurion received the same reports. The enemy seemed to have a rather impressive number of troops to sacrifice. How long would this last? Obviously, Paco Vega had great difficulty repositioning himself in the mine. Because each time, Holtep returned. He seemed determined not to give up his first position. Because, as it turned out, Paco Vega still had the chance to overtake him.

After a few final exchanges of small-scale combat, Holtep stopped fielding a full army. Since the fighting had ceased to be interesting for Arthurion, and not wanting to occupy the red mine unduly, he calmly withdrew.

-<( Continuation and End )>-

After some time, Holtep abandoned the idea of fighting, so Paco had a clear path to stay on the red mine and try to maintain his second place in the overall ranking. But Holtep didn't seem to want to let him go so easily, and sent several alts from a secondary alliance, the LEH, to try to dethrone PacoVega, or perhaps force him to deploy his large army and allow Holtep to follow up with the attack.

PacoVega thus suffered numerous attacks, in many different formations. He resisted, and each time, regained his position.

The hours ticked by, and PacoVega finally gained enough of a lead to secure second place, or at least discourage the adventurous. As the end of the day approached and the fighting subsided further, it was decided to give way to the other members of Kingdom 276 so they could join the leaderboard and thus obtain a piece of the rewards for Raymond's weapon.

-<( CONCLUSION )>-

The red mine was thus completely emptied at the end of the 24 hours, and first place naturally went to Holtep. He had valiantly camped on the mine for almost 12 hours. He was a formidable opponent, a valiant fighter, who had managed to protect his mine. Paco Vega nobly secured second place, and the five chests containing Raymond's weapon. Positively enough, many players from Kingdom 276 were able to place themselves in the top 10 of the leaderboard. Each player could therefore obtain one or more fragments of Raymond's weapon. This was a small source of pride for Arthurion. The power of friendship was still working, and it was quite effective.

Thank goodness, Arthurion wasn't in the rankings. Despite the long minutes he'd spent occupying the mine while fighting Holtep, he'd managed to get overtaken. At the end of the day, a sense of peace filled Arthurion. He'd been able to help his friends, and even if he hadn't managed to put Paco in first place, he'd really drained Holtep's troops. As with Arthurion in his time, to get to first place, you had to earn it, and be willing to pay the price.
