Arena of Honor - Season 3 Round 7 - The winds of change

Westeros is getting close to the begin of April, trees are blooming, temperatures are starting to rise and for [N0X] LadyKnight it's time for another Arena of Honor round. After preparing for almost 2 weeks for another solo que, her luck changed a bit right before the match and she found a team, made mostly of [N0X] warriors with a few additions from some other alliances. So, for this round at least she didn't need to march to mercenary camps and instead she went with the other team members to the registration tavern and together they registered for the upcoming fight at 12:00.

While waiting for the matchmaking to be done, the team sat down at a table and started strategizing the upcoming battle, deciding what troops each warrior gets on the battlefield to give them the best chances at winning the fight. Matchmaking was done quite quickly and the battlefield gates opened for the teams to join, LadyKnight's team was chosen by Daenerys to fight for House Targaryen, in the south-west forests of the battlefield. After setting up her troops on the battlefield, LadyKnight decided to perform a quick inspection to see what other houses invited for the fight.

After the scouts returned with the information, it was looking like every House invited strong teams but none of the houses were looking unbeatable so there were good chances of winning for House Targaryen this round. Time for gathering information was over though as the horn that signals the start of the battle was heard and everyone rushed to the freshly opened strongholds. A few minutes after, it was time for the construction to begin and House Targaryen decided to go with military camps. Despite being against that decision and thinking trading posts would be better, LadyKnight decided to go with the team's decision of building military camps.

The advantage of military camps is that your Clan Castle will most likely be safe for the whole duration of the fight, but the disadvantage is that you need a lot of altars to make 'it work. The fight started to get intense for House Targaryen once the altars started opening, as they needed quite a lot of them to win the round. LadyKnight had her eyes on Altar of the Crone and sent a considerable force to try and take 'it but [WxC]Thibitishhh didn't agree with that decision and quickly assembled a bigger force to try and retake the altar. A huge battle emerged between the 2 armies of spears.

The battle was bloody on both sides, but despite LadyKnight trying her best, the enemy had better commanders and better trained troops, so she had to admit defeat. Despite having a bad defeat, in Arena of Honor there's no time for mourning as the battle is very intense for the whole duration. While having to get as many altars as possible, LadyKnight also tried to stop the other houses from getting Altar of the Maiden, especially the houses that built trading posts. Upon scouting the map around she found an altar guarded by [NBe]ThePate and a considerable cavalry army. She decided that would be a good challenge for her spears and went for a solo attack.

ThePate's cavalry charged at LadyKnight's spears but despite being led by superior commanders, LadyKnight's spears were sharpen and pierced thru the cavalry like they were nothing. However, ThePate wasn't just going to leave things like that and after healing his troops he decided to assemble an even bigger cavalry force and try to get revenge. He didn't notice that while he was busy assembling his forces, LadyKnight got reinforced with more spears.

With the reinforcements provided by the other warriors, LadyKnight managed to get an easier win than first time and after a few bloody battles she managed to take the altar for House Targaryen. As the team approached the middle of the fight, City of Glory dropped the protection bubble and considering how the points were distributed, House Targaryen needed the City of Glory to win this fight so [N0X]Mickyvee decided to rally' it.

Unlucky for Mickyvee his army was just half of DonneR2K's so despite his heroic act, he had to admit defeat. But he didn't just give up and kept trying multiple rallies but unlucky for House Targaryen, none of them were successful. However, it was looking that House Lannister can challenge House Stark on City of Glory, and they were flipping the city every few minutes and that created an opening for House Targaryen. LadyKnight and the team had the idea to abandon rallying City of Glory and focus on altars hoping that none of the 2 houses will manage to keep the city for the 4 minutes required to get 'it under their control.

The plan worked for a while, and it was looking like House Targaryen is going to win this round. But just a few minutes before the end of the battle, House Greyjoy and House Lannister managed to pull a rabbit from their hat and get a quick influx of points.

Crushing defeat for House Targaryen, despite giving their heart and soul on the battlefield. For LadyKnight it's even worse, being the 3rd round when she loses 1st and 2nd place for just a few points. The only consolation for her it's the few glory points she got for a 3rd place and the hope that she'll be able to win on the next round. See you all on the battlefield!
