A Solo Hunt Across Two Fronts

Forger was silently hunting targets on another server when suddenly his phone buzzed with a call. It was Sung Drip Woo, his old ally and friend. His voice was full of excitement.

"We have found unbubbled castles," referring to the ones which were not covered by shields. There were many across two different servers. One of them was K279, which Forger was currently hunting on, while the other one was Server 360, where Sung and some teammates were preparing for a huge attack.

Fat targets that were so hard to resist. Rarely did such a castle in such a vulnerable position come along, each one just bursting with fresh-for-merit-hunting troops. There was one complication: Forger and Sung were on different servers. Rather than teaming up as they usually do, they decided to split it up and take the hunts on separately on each server. He knew it would be hard to solo, but he had enough faith in himself and his strategy.

The first target that Forger made on Server 279 was a castle with 7 million troops. The castle was messy in that its commanders were chosen poorly and lined with low-tier T1 cavalry troops along its walls. This would absorb the hits but cost Forger some valuable troops if not cleaned up as soon as possible. Forger readied his infantry-spearman lineup-a powerful combination of troops designed to take down a castle like this.

The first strike was intensive: Forger's army clashed with the castle defenses, cutting through the disorganized cavalry. Results finally came in: 2.4 million enemy troops killed/wounded. Victory came costly: he lost 500,000 troops, including some of his good T4 units. Still, that had been a painful blow-though Forger didn't go into shock because of this.

Not wasting any single moment, Forger regrouped and got ready for the second attack. The forces struck once again, killing an additional 2.4 million troops in the castle. Yet, some problem was still caused by the T1 cavalry as he continued losing some of his T4s in this fight. He needed to clear these cavalries first so that actually he gets the upper hand.

Third Attack Turned the Tide. With that, Forger had wiped out or injured most of the enemy's cavalry. For the castle's defenses, he was now more exposed than before, while his casualties were way lower this time-round 300,000 against all his losses, with no T4s in the lot. Another 1.8 million enemy troops were wiped out, and the castle lay near defenseless. He readied one final strike. Quicker and cleaner this time, it cleaned up the remaining 150,000 and took the enemy lord into captivity. In that hard-fought battle, the castle was empty, and Forger had won.

Meanwhile, on Server 279, where Forger had just won his solitary battle, others were at it on Server 360 with an even bigger target in front of them-a 15 million-troop castle, really well-defended but still unbubbled. Sung was known for his fearless and audacious attacks, and he thus didn't waste much time getting started with his first rally using a Spear weakness lineup. It became a horrific attack: it annihilated 6 million enemy troops in one stroke, whereas his losses were less than half of what the enemy suffered. The momentum was definitely with Sung.

The second rally struck even harder. With most of the enemy's T1 troops gone, their T4 troops were very open. The forces of Sung struck against the walls, killing another 4.5 million troops. The defenses showed the first signs of falling apart, and slim was the possibility of the enemy surviving the assault.

It was the third rally that gave the coup de grace. Sung's army swept through the remaining troops, killed 3.6 million of them, leaving less than 1 million inside the castle - practically defenseless by this time. Sung launched a final solo and cleaned out the last remnants of the troops, capturing the enemy lord. Yet another victory secured for the alliance.

News of Sung reached Forger in Server 279. Two victories in two different fronts-it was a proud moment for the team. After all, it wasn't that easy to hunt both of them; the results could justify their strength and coordination. Forger couldn't help but feel proud. Though he was far away, he and Sung managed to take down two of the strongest together.

________

Forger reflected, "That hunt, for myself, the 7-million-troop castle was such a hard opponent, having poorly organized defenses but overwhelming amounts of T1 cavalry troops". Since he had to do a different approach each time to overcome some particular challenge presented by the castle, each attack was learning. Finally, his persistence and proper planning paid off.

In contrast, one example of the right bold and final action was when Sung triumphed over the Server 360: rallies of leaders in his way, which pushes through overwhelming defense-this success told what teamwork can be while working apart.

Smiling through the battle reports from the two servers, Forger felt once more assured that nothing was big enough for the alliance-be it solo hunting or group fighting, they had the skill, will, and strategy to overcome it.

Thus, satisfied, Forger winged his way to his castle. It had turned out to be a great day, not only in merits and taken lords but also in what it had shown him about them as allies. Forger knew this was one chapter in a long story they were telling, one that didn't end in the next room. The battlefield changed, and a new chance was given, and with it came new challenges and triumphs. And when the time was ripe, he and his people would be ready.

With a little sense of pride, Forger retired to bed that night, already looking forward to the next hunt.
