The second season had been finished. But that did not mean the battles were over. One season was done, and another one was around the corner. With a new season though, Hunger, Chaos and NO REAL decided to change their way to form the groups. Last season they played a lot with randoms from different alliances, and although they did help and even friendships were formed, there was one big issue: voice chat. With a half English, half German group and some Germans having issues talking or even understanding English, it meant only the German half was in voice, which made coordination a lot harder.

So for the start of the new season, the three picked a group of 10 Germans, ready to fight in the Arena one more season. They ran inf-spear as usual, but this time with 4 instead of the usual 2-3 spearmen accounts, so Hunger could hopefully actually fill rallies this time

As a match plan, the group decided to try the newly buffed camps for the strongholds and ended up running inf camps as the NPCs were spearmen.

The match started as normal, building up strongholds and then having some small battles for Strongholds, although without the Trade focus, the targeted altars were a lot more broad.

Only one other faction besides Hunger’s Lannisters went for camps, the Greyjoys and at the start the Lannisters had the upper hand, winning the first 2 direct encounters.

Then they would also take the House Baratheon and as the entire faction was inf or spearmen, NO REAL put his lord in there, and the rest of the faction reinforced, securing the building for now.

We can then fast-forward a little bit as not much happened except Hunger trying to take different dragon pits and always getting soloed or rallied out by inf accounts.

When the center opened, Chaos opened a rally and went into the center. Chaos was their strongest account, and there were also not many cav accounts and basically no strong ones on the map at all, just a lot of inf, so the decision was obvious. At that point in time, the Lannisters were ranked one, but only because they had gotten some good first capture points on Catapults and watchtowers. The Greyjoys had by now started dominating the camp fighting as they switched from inf to inf-cav and held a bunch of important altars. With the center now open, the Lannisters had to focus on other things, so the Greyjoys could slowly climb ranks from second to last into a position to threaten Lannisters lead.

But now back to the battle for the City of Glory: To fully reinforce Chaos, NO REAL had to leave the House Baratheon and so Hunger put his lord march there instead, so people could reinforce him with their spears while having their inf in the Center. That idea was good, but now a strong inf account from House Baratheon could rally Hunger out. Against Bleed with Kevin Hunger, weakness had no chance.

Due to the freed up inf, Chaos would lock down the Center though, tanking a lot of rallies in the process. As there were no strong cav accounts at all, the main treat were inf and, surprisingly, bowmen rallies.

The hardest hit was, in fact, a Bowmen account. Travel Wing’s disarms from their female synergy of cause countered Chaos Bleed, but Travel Wing had worse stats and base attack and Chaos had the better weapons, so it was still a clear win for him.

After the center was done, Chaos disbanded and the group thought that it was better to keep Chaos elsewhere, and he could rally out whoever was in there anyway. That was a big mistake, though, as they would soon realize when Chaos rally just bounced on Travel Wing's full bowmen wall. Quickly, they had to set up a double rally with Hunger to hit first to lower the troop amount in the city, so Chaos could kill the rest. That was the idea at least, but Hunger was not able to deal much damage. Part of the issue was that his 4-star Enzo was not useful at all, as he forgot to bring any cav. That was a mistake he would avoid in the future.

Lucky for Lannisters another rally from an enemy hit in the 7 seconds between Hungers and Chaos rally, and so Chaos could take back the city.

The luck they had run out, though, minutes later. It was basically the same situation as before. Chaos ran low on reinforcements and got kicked by Travel Wing, but this time there was no miracle. Hunger bounced, another spear lead, LEVIathan bounced, Chaos almost did it but failed…

It was a terrible situation. They had focused so much on Center that now that they had lost it, they jumped from first to second to last place. After 4 minutes of bubble, they would have 3 minutes to take center, and then they had to hold it until the end if they wanted any chance at winning.

But how would they kick Travel Wing? Would they hope for another miracle? Hoping for the Old Gods being generous?

No, they had a plan. NO REAL left the House Baratheon they had recaptured, and they decided to do 4 rallies on center. Two inf and two spearmen, with the spearmen hitting first, lowering the troop amount for then either NO REAL or CHAOS to win.

It was an all-or-nothing gamble; could they pull it off?

Look again and realize how close that was! The castle was filled with the maximum rally size, 7 million. LEVI and Hunger only killed around 300-400k each, making it a terrible kill-death ratio, but this allowed NO REAL to win by 20k troops. If Travel Wing had those 700k more troops, this would have been a loss, and although Chaos would have won, it would not have been enough to win the building.

Travel Wing would try one more time; they had 4 minutes to get the Center back after all, but without the numbers advantage, Chaos was able to win one more time, securing the Center and the match win.

It needed 4 rallies and a dream, but they got it done, winning by “just” a 15k difference. Chaos had clearly been the MVP with having the best rallies and solos of them all, but everyone did perform well, partly thanks to them all being in voice chat.

It had been a great start to the season for the group, although their camp setup still needed improvement. Only time would tell if they could repeat this success…
