It was a lazy winter afternoon and most warriors of MBL alliance, having finished their chores for the day, had sought refuge in the warmth of the Great Hall. There was anticipation in the air as the Duke MAJ had just announced that he and his wife the Duchess LAH would attend a feast in a neighbouring kingdom.

MAJ took one last look in the Hall before stepping out, not fooled by everyone’s angelic demeanour. He was perfectly sure his knights would take advantage of this opportunity to behave in a rowdy fashion, and gambling and drinking would start the second he was gone. He spotted the youngest knight of his household, Fleep, already semi hiding a flask of mead, and he couldn’t resist admonishing him.

Hey Fleep, I count especially on you not to make any mischief here, he told him seriously and departed.

Fleep nodded to him, and the second the door closed behind MAJ, pulled out his flask and took a long drink. Many knights followed suit and very soon, everyone was in very high spirits, and as usual, when knights are drinking, everyone was talking and boasting of their wartime achievements and tourney wins.

Problem is these youngsters do not fight any more, Host of Doom was telling MAJOR Tom.

For sure, Host, agreed MAJOR, I remember in my day….

Host banged his fist on the table, interrupting MAJOR

Look at this, unbubbled in rebel gear, Host bellowed loud enough for everyone to hear.

If I could travel as light as these young ones, this guy would be dead by now, Host continued.

Fleep who was listening, pulled beside him, Hunky Dory and Moses, Host of Doom’s squires.

I am so over these old guys, in our days, we did this and that, and young ones never do nothing, Fleep was doing a rather good imitation of Host.

Hear hear, said Moses, who had been on the receiving end of these type of lectures far too many times.

I have a plan to make him eat his words, Fleep said with a mischievous glint in his eyes, are you with me?

Lead the way, turtle, said Hunky Dory, would do anything to see that happen.

Moses hesitated for a moment, not completely trusting Fleep, but nodded anyway.

Fleep sprinted out the Hall like lightning, it made Moses wonder, why his nickname was turtle.

Fleep had jumped in kingdom 44 and had already located their target. But since the squires were taking their sweet time in joining him, he cast his eyes around looking for a target to solo. He did need a lord after all and very soon he discovered his prey.

First mission was a success and Fleep gave a woop for joy!! But where were these guys? Fleep was drunk enough to decide that all he needed to do was open the rally and they would appear.

One minute passed and Moses appeared at his side, still panting with exertion. He high fived Fleep and quickly joined him. But would this be enough to rally? Fleep’s rally size was modest already and just two people participating might not end up well. The five minute countdown was passing excruciatingly fast and as Fleep was considering to cancel, Hunky joined and was even dragging another squire with him.

Where were you man? Fleep exclaimed. You sure took your sweet time about it.

Will explain after, Hunky said with a careless smile.

Fleep shrugged and watched his rally leave the castle.

“Please let me not get capped, those oldies will never let me live it down” he prayed to the Seven.

Oh shoot that was expensive, Moses moaned, I lost half my cavs.

Train fast, Hunky nudged him, they have phase three here in Lord of Lords. What do you think i was doing before joining? he told them with a satisfied smirk

Fleep broke out in maniacal laughter.

So did Balth, hahahaha, how nice of him to train a lot of troops for us to kill, and still laughing he called his banners again.

He tried to look confident, but his first rally had killed most of Balth’s non bow troops, so now Balth would actually be stronger. Moses who had acquired a lot of experience being Host’s squire, was thinking in the same lines.

Fleep, what if you lose lord? he asked worriedly.

If i do, we start running and pray they do not catch me, he answered flippantly.

Fleep let out a big sigh which was the only thing betraying his tension, and called his banners again.

Let’s see if we finally win big, he told his little gang, and gulped down some more mead from his flask. He really needed a good win, to show them that youngsters were also capable.

Go Fleep, kill the rest, no need to rally again, both Moses and Hunky encouraged him, already satisfied with the kills they had made.

Fleep did not need to be told twice and charged happily.

There it was poor Balth had died, and that would show Host.

Ok i think that proves our point, Moses said, time to return and show them the reports.

Head back, Fleep said, I see a few more targets.

Are you sure you do not want us to stay? Hunky asked worriedly.

Nah, look at them, I totally can handle it, said Fleep and waved the squires away.

Fleep’s confidence proved to be not misplaced, as he attacked.

He was considering to head back when he saw one more person that had lost his protective barrier.

Is he even worth hitting? Fleep wondered. Meh, will hit him, even a few troops is still merit.

Fleep saw his banners over the city fly victoriously but something felt wrong.

Why do i feel so weak, all of a sudden? he wondered, and then he received the raven with the battle report.

Pff, i fell like an idiot to a trap, and a t2 bow trap at that. Fleep was considering burning the battle report when  a blue light hit his castle and realised he had been blockaded.

OK that is it, he thought to himself and immediately abandoned the K44 kingdom.

Soon after, having restored his protective barrier, he walked back in the MBL Great Hall, ready to brag about his recent exploits. As soon as he walked in, he felt someone take him by the shoulder.

Is this that you wouldn’t make any mischief? MAJ asked in a low voice, his rage barely contained. Had to abandon the feast, as I kept receiving raves from the envoys of kingdom 44.

Fleep slipped easily out of MAJ’s grip and gave him a mischievous grin.

You did say Fleep make no mischief here, he said, and I didn't. K44 is definitely not here.

MAJ tried to stay angry but it was impossible.

Come, he told him between laughs, and show me the reports.
