The Night King had been defeated but the evil Sorcerer Megaboz (who had raised him), had achieved his objective to become a powerful Lich. His soul was safe in a Phylactery hidden in a very secure place.

He had escaped that terrible battlefield and was now planning his next attempt to destroy Kingdom 241.

It was a beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky, a pleasantly warm breeze stirred the leaves of the trees in the Great City of Casterly Rock. Olga and her sister Arya (Arry the Night King Slayer) were sitting in the garden of the Ye Olde Yew Tree Tavern and Restaurant with Letterman and his great friend the powerful warrior Busenbiber (the proprietor and famous chef). Busenbiber had missed the Night King adventure on K241 whilst visiting his mother in another kingdom. He was a renowned chef and had achieved a prestigious award of 2 Dragon stars for his food and service.

The table was filled with award winning food and they were all drinking a superb wine made at the Busenbiber Chateaux.

The ladies who had been touched by the Lord of Light in the Night King adventure, suddenly stilled, their eyes glowed a brilliant white and they both were visited by the same vision. After a few moments they recovered and accompanied by the concerned gentlemen, went to see Grand Maester Helmsby to try to interpret the day dream.

Helmsby was a celebrated intellectual and warrior, his library, the most extensive in the Kingdom, was cool and smelled of musty old books. The Ladies explained the vision to him, he sat and thought for a while then said.

“It seems our arch enemy Megaboz survived the awful battle with the Night King, dire news he has evolved into a Lich, an undead sorcerer of great power. Come back tomorrow and I will have uncovered more information”.

They went back to the Yew Tree and continued their meal.

Next day they were gathered in the palace with Duchess Ivy. Grand Maester Helmsby started the conversation. “Your grace, the Ladies Olga and Arya have had a vision, we believe from the Lord of Light, Megaboz the one responsible for the Dragon attack and Night King invasion, has not only survived but was turned into a powerful Lich by the Night King. We need to find and destroy him. A Lich is not easily destroyed as his soul has been separated from his physical body and is stored somewhere in a Phylactery. To Kill him we need to destroy this Phylactery. We can dispatch the physical body but it will return. I Suggest we kill his body and then try to find his soul.” It was agreed that they would search for him, if found they would report back to the palace and a plan would be made.

They split up into groups Arry with Busenbiber, Olga with Helmsby and Ivy (she was fed up of sitting around) with Letterman. The family Conrad would follow and stay close just in case.

After 2 hours riding they came to a Thickly overgrown Forest, Helmsby who wandered the land far and wide said “I don’t recognise this forest, I wonder how long it has been here?”. The air was thick and humid, the odour of rotting vegetation strong to their senses.

Arry’s eyes glowed as before and she started pushing her way into the wood. Helmsby used his sword, sounded his horn and waited for the others to join them. Arry waited patiently and when the rest of the party arrived hurried deeper into the closely packed trees. Eventually after 2 hours, with the help of Helmsby, she cut her way through to a clearing. A Portal was clearly visible.

Arry turned and smiled then slumped to the floor, exhausted from being the divine conduit. Helmsby pointed to the Portal and said this must be it, no one would have found this. We should go back, collect supplies and as many soldiers as we can. We can return tomorrow, they all agreed.

Once back Duchess Ivy sent messengers out to the closest Lords and asked them to bring their troops to the forest’s location, at 10:00 tomorrow which was a Sunday. Arry and Olga who were both fatigued after their physical ordeal, were fed in the hall and went to bed.

Helmsby retired to the Library to research the Portal, Busenbiber and Letterman went to organise their soldiers. Duchess Ivy went to the local hospital and asked all the healers to join then tomorrow. “We do not know what we will be up against” she said to the lead healer, “and must be prepared for anything”

Preparations completed they all met at the great hall for an evening meal and to finalise their plans.

Helmsby started by saying “I have found a text relating to the forest which apparently is enchanted to only appear occasionally. It hides a portal to the Lost Realms, a Legendary land, unexplored and said to hide a great evil.”

“That sounds like a good place for Megaboz to hide” said Busenbiber, they were all nodding, we should plan to enter tomorrow.

The next morning troops from several great lords and all the city healers marched to the portal and went through. After some time they came to a great barrier of fire. The heat was intense and there appeared to be no way through. Megaboz could be seen in the distance through the flames.

Arry closed her eyes and prayed to the Lord of Light, “My dear lord please help us destroy the evil Lich Megaboz, we need to get through the barrier to our front”. Her prayer was answered and a blinding flash of light shot from her hands to bring the barrier down. A shortened version of the battle is shown in the video below.

The victorious force returned to Duchess Ivy's great hall.

She smiled to see the happy faces and obvious signs of victory. When they had all settled she asked, My Lord Letterman, please tell us what happened?, Letterman then recounted the story of the battle, “Your Grace, we all arrived at the portal in the early morning and went through, we marched for about 30 minutes and came to an impassable fiery barrier,

once again, Lady Arry saved the day, her connection to the Lord of Light is very clear and she somehow destroyed the barrier. We all advanced through, Lord Busenbiber took the lead. Hurling taunts at Megaboz, I will let him continue the story”. Bubesenbiber then took up the tale, “My household guard followed me and we advanced to a position North of Megaboz, taking spell fire all the time, we engaged him and held his attention for the whole of the battle. The rest of our troops attacked from the south.

Our magnificent healers kept us alive for the whole fight. Without them it is unlikely we would have been sitting here now. Megaboz unleashed several Area Effect spells during the battle which we learned to anticipate and avoid. It was hard fought and although battered and singed by spell fire we eventually destroyed him. After healing and loading our wounded and dead onto wagons we returned”.

Duchess Ivy smiled. “My Lords and Ladies Please give my thanks to all the brave and courageous souls who contributed to this significant victory. It will be entered into our Historical Chronicles. Let the feast begin!

My Thanks to Tyrion Lanstr for his honest critique and advice and to Queen Julander whose support and example are an inspiration. This story is based on the Lost Realm alliance event and features the Die Weissen Wolfe (DwW) of K241. My Thanks also to them.

Megaboz is a fictional character to act as the antagonist in this and other stories, we will hear from him again. All other characters are members of DwW.
