Dear all,

today I will take you back to the 3rd round of Siege of Winterfell, probably the most exciting match of the season when SFu played the match against very interesting and dedicated opponent. Yes it’s SFu vs LiK.

Considering SFu won two previous matches and our alliance power we have entered this match as the team who is more likely to win. From the very beginning SFu were almost equal in the number of the participants (75 vs 76) and we believed that our alliance can easily overpower our enemy.

As always, we have relied on our strategy to split the groups between Armory and Hot Spring with a smaller group heading to the Winterfell. The group headed to the Armory was lead by King Rale, one of the strongest members with freshly unlocked T5 cavalry. However once we got there, the enemy was already prepared. We were fighting and fighting but it seemed that enemy had endless amount of the troops and they were not simply giving up. Since we had all four types of the army in the Armory we were fighting all together with the enemy mostly having infantry. The troops were being killed very fast and very easily, even the troops of very strong alliance members. Healing was also quite costly since the group that was meant to conquer the Hot Springs failed to do it considering that the enemy had even more troops there.

As the last hope, we were counting on taking the Winterfell resources to one of our bases thinking that enemy won’t be able to send enough troops to the Winterfell. But we were so in the wrong…The enemy was already waiting in front of the Winterfell, successfully managing to deliver the 1st package. The fight for the resources was long and intense with the package being dropped and taken every few seconds. Over 20 players from both alliances were following their teammates who were carrying the package. However, the fight was still far away from being over since the points were almost equal at that point.

As we were still fighting to death on both Armory and Hot Springs, our alliance teammate VladanSRB managed to deliver the next package to our outpost and cut the lead of the enemy to only 500 points. The fight for the resources was again way too long, taking approximately 10 minutes for VladanSRB to bring the resources to our Outpost. This brought the good spirits back to our team as we now even had even more power to fight back and hopefully win.

Majority of our troops went back to the Winterfell for the next resource package, as the enemy started to spread on the map. LiK has reached our strongholds and outposts making it impossible for us to deliver the next package in our favour. Step by step and the whole map was becoming red, with our troops being very exhausted and with almost no heals. The enemy were still coming in large numbers and we were easily outnumbered at almost every castle that we used to hold.

At that point we have decided to give the final strike back thinking that the enemy has no more heals and that they are on the verge of giving up. So, we all healed our troops and went to win our castles back. The fights were tough and long with the elimination points on both sides going through the roof. Since the time was ticking down and the scores were quite equal, we were trying to kill as many enemy troops as we could and by that regain the score advantage that would lead us to the 3rd victory of the season and our alliance being ranked highly on the global ranking list. We all went, as previously, agreed across the map, all engaging in the total war as the time was almost up.

The alliance leaders, followed by the strongest accounts were having success re-gaining all the castles on our side of the map. Everyone was so engaged in the fight that unfortunately we did not have many troops left waiting at the Winterfell castle as the last round of the Winterfell resources dropped. Since LiK pulled most of their troops back to Winterfell, they used their cav troops as expected, and by the time everyone realised that they took the package our troops were running to catch up with them however it was too late. They have delivered the package without any issues to one of their outposts. It was only 2 minutes before the match ended and we were all left in shock and speechless realising no opponent should be underestimated despite of the amount of alliance power. The times was up and we have suffered our first loss of the season with not so big score gap.

After the match, we have realised what we did wrong as we promised to each other we will do much better in the next match. Did we keep our promises? Did we manage to win in another round?

Stay tuned…

yours truly,

LuxCrownguard
