Game Mechanic : Jade Barrier

Hi everyone, i’m PO PandaMoratia. In today’s article we will talk about the mechanic behind the Tower of Knowledge (later ToK) skill Jade Barrier.

Jade Barrier is a Premium skill available in Blessing of Triss Shop and unlockable at ToK level 38.

Concept : 

Reduce the Magical Damage received by the bearer and everytime you receive Magical Damage you have a 30% chance to apply a shield to 3 random allied units, absorbing magical damage.

Best use on ?

This is a skill design to go on Defense Immortal who have a low Magical Defense or on some occasion to support. There is no particular Immortal that stands up as the best user of this skill.

Good combinaison : 

This is a pretty stand alone skill that can Mitigate damage on the bearer and the team. There is no specific skill that goes well with it, there is however an Immortal that can make your day miserable which is Poseidon. His Bite ability can block any shield so you usually don’t want to use this skill against a team that runs him.

Conclusion : 

This is a very Niche skill, with a very low percentage of chance to trigger the shield you need the opponent to run several sources of Magical Damage (like a 3 damage dealing trigger Mage build) without using Poseidon to really make good use of it. It is however a very good skill for Time Rift Breaker Vampirism and Venom who deal a lot of Magical Damage.
