Hello and welcome to Honors Corner.

The first order of business is to wish you A Happy New Year, may we all continue to slay dragons and defeat other mighty Lords in the Infinity Kingdom in 2024.

I am sure we will all have mighty battles ahead and will be looking at ways and means to improve our marches.

Introduction

As a follow-up to my article, where I explored the world of mythical mages and how their Ultimate skills work.

I thought it would interesting to pick a mage and see how their dmg through normal and critical hits is improved or not by skills applied from ToK. We know that when building a march we need to keep in mind how each of the four immortals will work with each other, to offer HP, crowd control, sustain, prevent healing or suck units into a deep dark hole that prevents skills from being used for a duration… you often see this referred to as synergy. For this Article, I will be exploring 1 Mage Immortal to help give an overview guide

Topic

As we know we have 12 mages just sitting waiting on us Lords to draw on them to help us win a battle. Of course, us Lords aren't going to have all these Mages battle-ready with their armour polished and skilla maxed ready to go. Some of these Mages are a little challenging to get, a little shy and retiring and are dependent on a Lord's particular style of play, whether that be f2p P2p or somewhere in the middle. However, you play you'll find a Mage that'll bring their unique dynamic to your builds.

I think we may all have an Element that we have a particular fondness for, and for me it's Fire.

But please don't tell that to my other favourite march Lightning for it might go on strike which would be a catastrophe… I need my charge of the Lightning Brigade lol lol

Time to bring out a Mage that I think adds a lot of firepower to your backrow and she enjoys torching the enemy when allowed to unleash her mighty dmg… Empress Wu.

How do you get skills from ToK?

Fig 1.

Good question lol, well ToK ( Fig 1) is a building in your castle that you build so you release more skills that you can purchase using soul crystals or ability stones(P2P) and once you've carefully selected the skills your immortal needs the fun begins.

So imagine that you have maxed Wu develop bonus, you will release skill slots when the develop bonus is at 3, 5 and maxed at 7 diamonds.

Fig2

You’ll a get total of three slots with which to use your plethora of combinations, but ultimately there are parameters with skills and most are only of use or value to specific immortals.

This is when the fun begins when building your march, and you start to play with the synergy of your march.

I don't claim to be an expert when it comes to skills but what little I have learned getting the combination correct is vital if you want to explode a gnome boss, reduce a chaos beastie to ashes or pulverise your enemy units.

Thankfully this forum and daily talks provide a plethora of detailed information regarding skills and builds, thank goodness for Press Officers and this Forum lol.

So we have maxed Wu we have bought our chosen skills, that will enhance Wu's ultimate skill her normal and critical hit… packing her with a mighty punch… for fire, marches aren't known for longevity within a battle, re it PvP spider gnomes etc. Wu needs to hold her own in the first few seconds of any battle and needs to utilise her dmg.

Time to have a look at the types of skills that could work on Wu, all dependent on the role she has played.

I think it would be a good idea to explore the skills Wu will need if she is out in Norheim or Frosrbourn hunting down those pesky gnomes and gnome bosses.

These are the classic skills that you'd buy from ToK with your soul crystals, in addition is the skill called Chase which as I understand you do not want to use until you get Wu Critical Hit rate higher, so it increases the chances of the proc rate being used more often.

So what is meant by Proc and how does Chase work better when replacing another skill in the Wu lineup?

Experimenting with Skills

So I've saved my Soul Crystals maxed my skills, time to take Wu out for a test drive… let's have a look at some battle reports to better understand the combination of skills I've picked vs a battle report where Wu has no or only 1 skill slot in use.

This is an example of many test hits on tyrant gnomes level 45, I found my critical hit varies leading me to believe I need to work on my skills and build my unit. For Example, gaining EAs for Wu ( which I know have and will take some time to develop) and improving my passive skills, aiming for poison thorn or the skills that you need ability stones for. These pay-2-play skills are either obtained through the Triss event or using cold coins gained from SvS and obtained from the Frostbourn Shop at the end of SvS season.

So I tried another combo of Annihilation, Death Breath and Chase and this is the result, using the same gnome type and lvl

My death rate was relatively low but my critical hit produced the most damage but only 25% of the time. I swear those gnomes laughing at my expense lol.

Conclusion

So Wu is very useful to have in a fire march even with the choices of different immortals now out there for example Cyrus Seondak, Wu Cyrus Cyrus Khan or Khan Wu… one could play around for hours testing out different builds to be used in different game play.

Well, those gnomes live to see another day while Wu continues to grow for me i like Wu in my march when I'm hitting Gnomes and Bosses.

Let's see what I think once I get Cyrus maxed, maybe Wu will see her marching orders.

Hopefully, I've given you an insight into how the passive skill slots are used and it gives you a spark within your builds.

Take care IK community
