💠Overview
The Halloween Event is an annual seasonal event that makes its rounds around, yup you guessed it, Halloween. There are a couple of parts to the event that give rewards. Some aspects of the event have more value for the average player than others.
💠Shadow Spectres
This portion of the event consists of sets of daily events. Every day will unlock three sets that players can do to contribute points towards rewards. Day 1 requires consecutive logins, training troops, and summoning immortals with Philosopher’s Stones. Day 2 consists of killing gnomes, sailing, and completing Well of Time stages. Day 3 has killing gnome bosses, challenging the arena, and manufacturing fortifications. Day 4 consists of killing gnomes, purchasing from the market, and training troops. Day 5 is usually completing Well of Time stages, pillaging resources from other castles, and a repeat quest.

You can earn a total of 40 Loki shards, 20 Stardust, 500 gems, and 10 Surprise Milk Candy. This is the easiest part of the event. Just by logging in and completing their regular daily tasks, players can finish this section extremely easily. You do not even have to finish every single quest to get all the rewards. Compared to some other variations of the event where you have to kill several hundred gnomes, these tasks are relatively easy.
💠Scary Pumpkin and Trick or Treat
For the duration of the event, players can obtain Ghost Fiesta Chests that give Raspberry Jams, Spider Webs, and Birdie Eggs by gathering resources, collecting within the players’ castles, and defeating gnomes and bosses. Every chest will always give one of each item. These items can be used to craft Strange Candy. Strange Candy can be traded for Philosopher’s Offer chest, Stardust, 8-hour speedup, 3-hour speedups, and resource chests.

In addition to candy, the Philosopher’s Offer chest costs 520 gems. It’s not a bad thing to buy if you want to gamble for the 3,000 gems, 3 or 10 Philosopher’s Stones, or the 12-hour speedup. The chances of getting those items are low so I would keep the 520 gems and purchase an 8-hour speedup at a 40% discount in the market for around the same price. The other prized reward here is the Stardust. Players can trade up to 30 Stardust. Unfortunately, each Stardust costs 200 gems for a total of 6,000 gems. The price for these Stardusts is steep as you can purchase Stardust in the market for 120 gems. Players are paying a premium for the availability here. In 150 market refreshes, you may not even get 5 Stardust. The average player who does not have excess gems should not purchase these Stardust, in my opinion. The high spenders can afford these and should buy them.

Players can also purchase $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 Surprise Milk Candy packs for 10, 15, 35, 60, and 100 candies. These candies can be traded for 60 Shadow and Light Selection Chests, Elite Dragon Crystal Selection Chest, Crimson Moonlight, Stardust, 3-hour speedup, and resource chests. The Shadow and Light chest costs 120 candies which will cost players $85. In my opinion, this is not worth it for 60 holy or shadow immortal shards as players can purchase the Sparks of Galaxy Packs for the shards as well as essences. 90 Stardust and 45 Crimson Moonlight will cost 100 and 300 candies, totaling about at least $80 and $250, respectively. These seem relatively expensive compared to their alternatives, especially for Stardust. There are several other cheaper and free ways to get Stardust so players are really paying for the instant gratification in this event.

There are also several packs players can purchase for additional candy as well as aesthetics like a Halloween-themed nametag, chat box, and the Night Phantoms castle decoration which gives a 3% technology speed boost. The Night Phantoms skin is extremely useful because every player should always have a technology research active. The 3% boost may not seem like much, but coupled with the 3% mayor boost, the 6% technology boost adds up over time and will save players a significant amount of speedups. You can also wait to purchase the Night Phantoms skin from the Golden Path using 750 Merit Coins.

💠Summary
In my opinion, this event lacks value for a lot of players. The best rewards are the Loki shards for those who are trying to get Loki, Stardust which has value for every player, and the free speedups. The Surprise Milk Candy exchange prizes have questionable value at best. For the free players and low-spenders, skipping the event and just getting the free items should be in their best interest.
