Normally, we approach CCS in a very organized manner. Scouting the matched Kingdoms for allies and enemies alike. There has been so much going on in Westeros lately. My dragons are exhausted from taking me around the seven kingdoms to tend to business. Our King, Vangark would normally facilitate these make shift alliances, but he was buried under a pile of real world business. I had almost forgotten about one of my favorite events, CCS. I had halfway resigned myself to the fact I may sit this one out. With one foot out the literal door, I got a message from Freedon, we are joining DEP. I hesitated. I would regret not joining DEP for a day (well an hr but you get the picture, lol ). I rearranged the real world plans, spent my last 10,000 blue diamonds and jumped on the map next to my friends. I sent the request to DEP but to my horror they were full, literally.

Having already spent my diamonds, my mind began to race for a plan b. Glancing around the map, looking for anyone familiar, I found The Riddler. He had joined SbG a very large faction across the map from me. With a glance of sadness towards my GOTWIC fam, I sent the request and joined SbG. This was going to be hard, fighting the people I normally fight with. We didn’t approach this in the organized way we normally would.

We were fighting for the City of Judgement.

Since the match had already begun, I had started by reinforcing the rally leads. UR Candy held the building, so I sent my reinforcements and waited for the attacks to come. It did not take long.

The attacks kept coming, but UR Candy held firm, till it was time for El Sicario to step in.

UR Candy released the building and El Sicario took it with ease. We rushed to fill, me remembering a few CCSs’ ago when I ran headfirst into a fully reinforced El Sicario.😂I didn’t expect to win, but I also didn’t expect the no survivors’ letter instead of a battle report. The enemies surrounding us did not just resign themselves to a loss, hammering away at our defense of the buildings.

Or alliance was doing very well, dominating the occupation time, despite facing some seriously strong people. Before I knew it, it was Riddlers turn to occupy. His occupation was to be strategic. Both being from bigger alliances UR Candy and El Sicario could not win. It would be up to Riddler to take the win for the alliance. We furiously reinforced the building but got knocked out by a friendly face.

If we had to get knocked out by anyone, I was glad it was him. He is fiercely strong in addition to being an all around amazing human being. The building began to quickly change hands again, with each participant going for the win.

As in previous whale wars, there were new lessons to be learned. I had seen a number of different play styles from just going for elims all the way to determining who would be allowed to win and everything in between. There had been a lot of complaints about bigger alliances winning multiple maps. This is why despite having the two longest hold times, UR Candy and El Sicario could not win the event and would have to leave the alliance before the match had ended. This made it anyones match and there were some who had realized this as well.

Everyone made a mad dash to occupy the castle as the minutes ticked closer to the end of the event. No one holding it long before a new occupant took over. It made timing the attacks difficult since a 10 sec bubble appears with each new occupant. For my part I had already made my battle diamonds for the event. I had gotten some ok merit. One can’t forget the battle and bravery tokens, since they are helpful in getting the double badges. Yet I played on, yall know I don’t let my troops rest lol.

When the smoke cleared at the end of the event, 1 second made the difference between winning and losing. It was a fun and incredibly close match. My losses were not too bad, I had lost far more getting jumped the day before. I missed being with my friends, but real life had pulled many out of the game that day. We met back up on our own Kingdom, excitedly telling one another about the adventures we had on opposite sides. Agreeing that if we must lose troops best to lose them to the GOTWIC family instead of enemies.

HONEY BADGER took the win.

Our celebration was cut short, the Night King and his army had breached the wall and were marching south. King Vangark had called for every available sword to meet up in Winterfell. Many of us had recognized the signs of winter after the long summer. There were a couple on our kingdom that had not battled this frosty army of the dead. A nervous excitement descended on 276 as each lord made their way to Winterfell with their troops and supplies in tow. In this next battle, we would not just be fighting for accolades. We would be fighting for our home.
