Hello Westerosians, Ch1 here bringing you the first in our newest series… …for Noobs. Today we will be talking about hof’s. When I first started playing, I kept seeing all these low level castles with hof in the title. As an American, when I see hof I think Hall of fame. I remember being confused why all these hall of fame accounts were lower then the players they were named after. LOL. What a sweet summer child I was.

HOF stands for Hall of Faces in GOTWIC. Hall of faces is one of the buildings inside your city. Depending on the level of your Hall of Faces, you are granted buffs for 24 hours when you execute an enemy lord. Each additional lord executed extends the buff another 24 hours with a maximum of one week. Lets take a look at the buffs I get when I execute a lord…

The buffs I get at my current level

For Pvp stats can make or break you so you can imagine that having a boost to your stats can come in very handy. But Ch1 what does that have to do with these low level HOF castles?

Hof castles are built in a way to be able to execute a lord in the shortest amount of time. The castle MUST be level 17 and ideally you don’t want the lord level above 15 in order to be able to execute the lord in 2 hours and 30 minutes (time may vary based on dungeon level). Remember, while you are waiting to execute a lord you are unbubbled and a sitting duck for merit hunters. So being able to execute in a couple hours versus a whole day is going to be the fastest and safest way to get your buffs. Don’t be a Merit Pinata.

After the time period has passed, you will get mail letting you know a lord has entered an execution period. You go into your dungeon and can then execute that lord.

There are additional bonuses you get while you have lords imprisoned, but the hof lords are not very good to get a big boost from that. The higher the lord level the lord your holding is, the better the bonus you get. My hofs only give me 1%, don’t get me wrong I will take it, but for a good boost you want a level 60 lord.

Lets see it in practice while I rebuild the time of my hof bonuses…

Meet Kennee and Kennee Ghost. My alliance is SouthPark Fans so we decided to give the hofs a fun name. lol.

Kennee was the first hof I made. I made a lot of mistakes when building him and let the lord level get a bit too high. So it takes me 3 hours and 30 minutes to Kill Kennee.

Kennee Ghost was my second attempt and I did a great job on this one. The lord level is 12 and castle is 17 so Kennee Ghost takes 2 hours and 30 minutes for me to kill.

Protips:

When building a hof, add them to your alliance. Because you are trying to avoid raising the lord level as much as possible, the alliance gifts and help clicks will make the process a lot easier on you. Once they are finished you can remove them from the alliance so you can attack them to get your buffs.

Once you execute the lord, you do need to log into the hof so the lord re-spawns and can be executed again. If you share your hofs like I do, make sure those who take and execute let you know so you can respawn the lord.

Have your Hofs and farms make an alliance or join in friends alliance. The gifts will allow you to get some resources from time to time. Trust me you will need all you can get as you grow lol.
